BONDING

When Abraham had finally left, Jake watched as the two guards that had been standing in front of the door finally open it. Watching his little girl run out, Jake opened his arm allowing her to run to him. Hearing his daughter cry so loudly in his arms was even more terrifying than when he had heard her scream. His daughter was claustrophobic and he had no idea until now.

“It's okay. It's okay." Jake said as he patted his daughter's hair slowly.

Few minutes later, he came back to his room burning with his desire to kill someone. Abraham had showed him how ruthless he could be in the past however, he didn't expect that he would do such a thing to do his own granddaughter.

“ Get out! I said get the hell out of my room!” Jake shouted as he threw Khloe's things out of the wardrobe.

“ What are you doing? Do you think that this will make my father mad? Wait. Do you want to move Juliet here? She's a girl." Jake heard Khloe say making him throw her bag at her in anger.

“ And she is your fu**ing daughter! How could you let your father lock her up even though she is claustrophobic. You don't deserve to be a mother! Get the hell out of my room.” Jake said as he walked over dragging Khloe.

Opening the door, Jake threw Khloe out watching her fall to the ground in the hallway. Suddenly, everyone was out of their room. Including the monster that called himself Abraham.

“ Father. Can you imagine? He-"

" It's okay. Let him do as he wants. This doesn't change anything. I have all the keys to the rooms in the house. Do you think that you can keep her from me?” Abraham asked.

“ If you touch my daughter again, I'll kill you! Don't even think I am joking. I am not the same person I was 12 years ago.” Jake said angrily before leaving with Juliet.

Watching Jake leave, Khloe gasped in shock looking at her father.

“ He isn't joking. Why did you have to do that? What if he actually kills one of us in anger?” Khloe asked.

“ Do you think Jake is you? The only murderer here is you. Stupid fool." Abraham said before walking off to his study.

Although Jake knew he couldn't take her away from Khloe yet, he wanted to get Juliet out of that house for a while. She had already calmed down and was now smiling after he had gotten her some ice cream and some of her favourite snacks. Stepping out of the car, Jake stood in front of the restaurant where Khoe had said his parents owned. The place was indeed not grand but it was just the right size for them.

When he had been little, it had been his parents dream to own a restaurant. They had gotten it on the price of his head but, he wasn't ashamed of it.

“Where are we?” Jake heard Juliet ask making him smile.

Going down on one of his legs, Jake looked his daughter better. She had also taken some of his mother's features.

“ Your grandparents. This is their restaurant.” Jake said with a smile.

Taking her inside, Jake couldn't help but cry immediately he saw his mother who was walking around serving people.

“Mother." Jake said in a low voice as he looked at her.

He could see she was stunned. Running up to meet her, Jake wrapped his hand around her hugging her as she continued to cry happily. They didn't know the truth about what had happened back then. Although they had known he had killed someone, his parents had believed till the ending that it had been done in self defense.

“ This is your granddaughter. I don't think Khloe told her about you people so I wanted her to come along to see you." Jake said as he held Juliet's hand.

After the two of them had met, Jake watched as his mother took Juliet to know more about her while he helped in doing the serving around the restaurant. At least a lot of people came in. Rather than being tired from standing all day, he was more happy because it meant that his parents were making money.

“I want food. Give me my usual please ” Jake heard someone say as she came inside catching the attention of everyone with her cold voice.

Leading her seat, Jake took her orders before heading to the kitchen to give his mother the order. Looking at the order, Jake's mother recognized it coming out of all of a sudden to see who it was.

“ Do you know her?" Jake asked as he looked at his mother.

“ She is the owner of this building. I didn't expect that she would come here today. Go and give her some water. Let me cook." Jake heard his mother say.

" I thought that Khloe was the one that owned the building." Jake said realizing that Khloe had lied to him once more.

Evening came and Jake knew he had to take his daughter back. Watching her smile happily throughout the entire day was pure joy to him. She had finally forgotten about what had happened to her in the morning.

“ Can we come here again?” Jake heard his daughter ask.

“ Of course. We can come here every single day if you want." Jake said.

Kenneth’s political campaign party was soon coming up. After the incident with his daughter, Jake had not seen Abraham that much. Since it was obvious that his father-in-law valued this party enough to personally oversee it, Jake knew what he must do. Looking around the house, he watched as several maids moved about carrying foods into the van. Of course. His father-in-law would never trust anyone easily with his food. All their daily foods were prepared by Samantha. The maids that served the foods were also different from those that worked around the house normally. And they never changed.

“ Where are these being delivered to?” Jake asked a maid who was coming back.

“ To the Distant Hotel. That's were the party is." Jake heard the maid say as she looked around worriedly hoping no one was hearing her talk to him.

Nodding his head, Jake let her go as he went up to check on Juliet. Ever since what had happened that day, he checked on her every single time he could. He was also teaching her how to fight. Even though he would love to continue to keep his daughter in her bubble, he knew he couldn't afford that. His father-in-law was a monster that couldn't differentiate between family and foes.

While they were training up at the gym, Jake suddenly heard a loud thud. It had been so loud that probably the entire house had heard it. It was probably a tray that had fallen down.

“Aaaaaaahhhhh! You fool!” Jake heard one of the maids say as she shouted on the top of her voice scolding the younger maid he had talked to earlier.

“ I'm so sorry. I didn't-. I tripped and fell." The younger said in a low voice.

“Tripped? And fell? How is that my business?” The older maid asked about to hit her when Jake held her hand.

“ It hasn't gotten to this yet." Jake said as he looked at the maid.

“ Master.”

“ It was a mistake. If you continue to scold her, you'll attract the attention of my wife or my father-in-law. Even if she is punished, you won't escape either." Jake said as he pointed to the huge mess of spilled rice on the floor.

" Since when did you suddenly become one of the masters of this house? You are nothing but a pest.” Jake heard Khloe say as she walked down the stairs making the two maids afraid.

“ I've already scolded them. There is no need for you to inter-” Jake said watching Khloe as she suddenly raised her hand to slap the older maid that fell on the floor.

“ Master? He is a pest! If anyone of you dare to address him as the master of this house, I'll kick you out." Khloe said making Jake clench his hand.

“ What are you doing? Why did you have to slap her?” Jake asked.

“ To teach you a lesson about your place. I will make your life so miserable till you grant me that divorce." Khloe said with destain as she glared at Jake.

“Mommy." Jake heard his daughter say as she looked at her mother. He didn't want her to witness him fighting with anyone.

“What! Get out of my sight!" Khloe said as she walked out pushing Juliet to the ground as she passed making Jake run to help his daughter.

Evening came and Jake got ready to leave along with the Fisher family. He was now one of them and he needed to make sure he went so he could find a way to meet the powerful men in the world of rich people.

“ Where are you going? Do you think you are coming with us?” Jake heard Kenneth ask as he came down dressed in a sandy brown suit.

Kenneth had managed to put all the attention on him.

“ He's a member of the house. He has to come.” Abraham said as he looked at Jake.

“What? Of course not. Father, this is my last opportunity with Theodore. I am sure that we can still get him on our side. If Jake comes, he'll ruin everything. Trust me.” Khloe whispered as she looked at her father.

“ You are right. One should never invite a snake into their home. Stay at home, Moss. Juliet will need you." Jake heard Abraham say before leaving.

The maids around him started to gaze at him pitifully. He was probably looking very pathetic in their eyes for not having any power at all. Heading upstairs, Jake went to Juliet's room to see she was sleeping. Carrying her gently, he brought her to his room before leaving a note by her side. He had installed a code lock into his door earlier.

“Daddy." Jake heard Juliet say stopping him.

It was the first time she had called him that.

“Stay here and sleep. The code is written here. Unless I come back, do not come out of the room. And do not open the room for anyone. Even if your grandfather threatens you. You'll be safe here, right? If it gets too hard for you, go into the in built study.” Jake said watching his daughter nod her head.

Climbing over the balcony, Jake landed on his legs almost missing a step. He had successfully escaped from the house without anyone seeing him. Just as he had expected, his father-in-law had left those two men to watch over so he doesn't come out.

“Do you need a ride?" Jake heard a familiar voice ask making him stop.

It was Alexa. Although she was driving, he could see she was beautiful dressed in sleeveless gold color dress. It was obvious that she was heading to the same party he was going to. Her black straight hair had fallen to one side of her shoulder.

“ Sure. We have to be fast though." Jake said as he entered.

Doing as he had said, Alexa tried her best speeding to the party. The venue had not been too far from the house. Getting there, Alexa finally stopped parking far from the eyes of people.

“How are you going to get inside?” Jake heard Alexa ask.

His father-in-law and his wife were standing outside to welcome people inside. Right now they were acting very humble because they needed more people to sponsor Kenneth's political campaign. He wasn't going to allow them.

“Did you bring what I asked you?" Jake asked looking at Alexa as she opened the a case giving him a memory card.

“Did you think I would forget?” Alexa asked.

“ Then I am going in with you." Jake said making Alexa gasp.
