Dr. Astrid's eyes locked onto Kendrick's, her expression a mix of empathy and urgency as she sprang from her seat;

"I'll be with you shortly, please," she said, her voice soft but firm.

But Kendrick was beyond consolation. The news had struck him like a thunderbolt, leaving him bitter.

Without a word, he sprang from his seat, his eyes flickering with a mix of anger and grief. He marched out of the room, the fluorescent lights in the hospital corridor flickering in synchrony with his racing pulse.

His gaze darted towards a nurse pushing a gurney down the hall, the direction of the mortuary area, where his mother's lifeless body lay. A surge of anger and grief coursed through his veins, his eyes blazing with a fierce intensity.

"F*ck!! Alexander, you've done the worst!" he exclaimed, slamming his fists onto the wall. The outburst echoed through the corridor, drawing the attention of the hospital staff.
