Evelyn nodded firmly before turning to leave the room. She had succeeded in making her father understand a point, and so she smiled her way through the lobby as she sent a maid to get Kendrick.

When the maid knocked at the door, Kendrick was on a call, she lingered at the door until he asked her to come in.

The door squeaked open and she walked in, her hands gesturing slowly.

"I'm sorry sir...your father sends for you" she said lowering her head.

Kendrick did not reply, he only waved his hands with a nod that made her know that he would be with him shortly.

He had fixed a meeting with a governor and would be ensuring that Astrid regains her respect and office after that, but then a thought ran in his mind.

"If she was the chief medical officer at the hospital where his mother was admitted...why then did she not help and stop her from dying?"

His mind reeled as he stood up to leave the room, he knew there were several things he needed to find out and he was sure ready for the showdown
