The warehouse’s air grew dense with smoke and a loud rhythm of gunfire.

Kendrick's eyes were sharp, his breaths steady despite the chaos around him.

As he sprinted through the maze of rusted metals, he glimpsed Paulus' men taking cover and returning fire, filling the room with shouts, gunshots, and the shattering of glass.

Kendrick ducked behind the large rusted iron, his heart heaving. He inspected his wrist, every second mattered.

“Xavier, hold them off! I’m going after Paulus!” Kendrick shouted, his voice barely audible.

“Got it, Boss! I've got you covered!” Xavier replied, firing a burst of rounds toward a group of Paulus’s men who had tried to flank them.

Kendrick darted across the open space, his focus locked on Paulus, who was now dragging Doctor Mash towards the back exit. The grim crime lord’s face was twisted in a cruel grin, his grip on Mash’s throat tightening. The doctor's eyes were wide with fear, his struggles futile against Paulus’s ironclad hold.
