Blackgold Refinery wasn’t just another company; it was a cornerstone of the Wang Imperium, a behemoth in the crude oil game. And Gary needed to make sure it was running clean.

The car eased out of the city, leaving behind glass towers for sprawling industrial yards, where pipes coiled like snakes and smokestacks exhaled slow, heavy plumes into the sky. Blackgold loomed ahead—steel and concrete, all muscle, built to last.

At the gate, the guards straightened up the second they saw the Rolls. Eyes wide. Hands tightening at their sides. Yeah, they knew exactly who was coming.

The guards scrambled, their hands fumbling with the controls, the gates creaking open slowly. It was a massive automated gate. Not even the most skilled thief would be able to penetrate the massive metal.

Gary stepped out of the car, his suit catching the sunlight, his face calm but his eyes sharp, scanning the yard like a hawk. Workers in oil-stained overalls stopped what they were doing, their tools clatterin

“Where is that sound coming from?” Gary asked Serena, who also had no idea. “M.. master Wang,” the old man began, lowering his head down as if in sorrow. “That is not a new thing, sir. Every day, those little kids are flogged. They are not allowed to rest; unlike me, they are not even paid. They are slaves and little children who…” Without waiting to hear the whole story, Gary stormed off, walking like he was heading into a war zone. Serena trailed along, and his security guards too, armed for any curveball. ‘Slaves?’ ‘Little children?’ In his company? Finally, after sourcing for the sound, Gary got to a bunker. The door to the bunker was shut, and the guards were fast asleep, bottles of beer lying around on the floor. This irritated Gary to the core. Whatever was inside of that bunker, whatever he was going to meet, had already piqued his curiosity and anger, but seeing the lazy men called guards sleeping on-site only made his blood boil hotter, like a pot left too long on the s

The boardroom at Blackgold Refinery was a sight—big glass windows letting the sun pour in, the light bouncing off the polished table, making the whole place glow like a fancy showroom. But the mood inside was anything but bright. It was thick with greed, the kind of air that stinks of dirty money and dirtier plans. In the boardroom sat 12 of the upper echelons, men who literally controlled Blackgold. They were dressed sharply in suits that cost more than most folks’ cars, golden watches flashing on their wrists and cigars smoldering in ashtrays. But their laughter was rough, their words sloppy, like they’d already had too much to drink even though it was barely noon. “Look, we are here for a meeting and not to get drunk to stupor,” Daniel said, laughing out loud as he gulped down another bottle of Hennessy cognac. “Look, we have to celebrate this big win, dawg. We talking 500 fucking million dollars sliding right into our pockets. This is good money, oil money.” Mike added, adjus

  • A Man Called Revenge   Chapter 28: Kage Howard

Kage Howard smoked the last pipe of his Gurkha Royal Courtesan cigar and squashed it into the ashtray. Then, he grabbed his shades and slid them on. He got out of his car and began to walk majestically into the building. All eyes were on him. Unlike Enrique, who was also a hot bloke, Kage was ten times more powerful. His father, Mr. Howard, was not a figure who rolled with top dogs. He was a top dog himself, and his son was only a representation of him. He strolled into the reception area, ready to meet with Kevon and Devon. Now, the Howards and the Sun Brothers were dragging a spot for the top, but the Sun Group was winning; they never lost to the Howards Group. One time, the Howard family made a wrong investment and went bankrupt. In order not to fall off the market, they decided to sell their shares. The Sun Brothers were quick; they offered to buy 51% of the Howard family’s shares, but Mr. Howard immediately declined. He was not going to share his firm with his competitor. He

“Enrique Lacanster was here yesterday. He came with a proposal to be handed the entire construction project of your new building, but you refused to hand it to him. Not only did you refuse the Lacansters what they are fully capable of, you also terminated their current contract.” Kage said. “Of course, Kage. We could have done more, maybe kicked Enrique Lacanster into prison for greed, but that would be a waste of time and resources. Is this why you are here?” asked Devon. Kage gritted his teeth, his breath more shallow than before. “Of course. That is why I am fucking here. I am here with a proposal. Hand over the entire project to the Lacanster family, hand over the papers right now, and I take it to them. They will handle the roofing, the flooring, the structure, the entire construction from teeth to feet.” Kevon smiled slightly. His smile was diabolic, but it was calm and calculated. With one glance, the brothers could read a person's whole, telling who a person truly is and a

Devon then got up. “Consequences have their actions, Kage. You called us names, insulted us, and disobeyed our orders for anyone never to bring up the Lacansters name through that door step. Therefore, we’re done here,” Devon said, his voice still calm, but it carried a weight that made the air in the room feel like lead, heavy and suffocating. He stood tall, his diamond watch catching the light, his blue eyes cold, unblinking like a predator who’d already won the hunt. “You can take your 50 million and shove it, Kage. We don’t need your money, and we sure as hell don’t need the Lancasters dragging our name through the mud again.” Kevon leaned back in his chair, his diabolic smile still in place, his fingers tapping the table slow, rhythmic like a countdown to Kage’s doom. “You heard my brother,” he said, his voice smooth, almost playful, but there was a blade hidden in it, sharp enough to cut deep. “The Sun Group belongs to Master Wang now—100% of it. And let me tell you somethi

“Impossible. You can’t be! We cannot have a new boss. Sir Harold died many years ago, and his son, the heir, was never found. How did you even get into this…” Carl’s words got caught up in his throat as he saw Serena walk in, two guards trailing behind her. Instantly, all twelve men stood up with a unanimous “Greetings, Miss Serena!” Serena walked gently, her tablet still tucked under her arm, her heels clicking softly on the carpet, each step steady, like she was walking through a garden instead of a den of snakes. Her face was calm, her eyes sharp, scanning the room like a hawk, taking in every sweaty forehead, every shaky hand, every wide-eyed stare. The twelve men stood stiff, their chairs pushed back, their voices still echoing from their greeting, but the air in the boardroom was thick, heavy with fear, the kind of fear that makes your knees weak and your mouth dry. Gary stood at the head of the table, his black suit sharp as a blade, his hands in his pockets, his eyes bur

Daniel, the one who’d been chugging Hennessy, tried to stand, his chair scraping loudly, his voice a desperate plea, his hands up like he could stop what was coming. “Master Wang, please,” he said, his words slurring, his face slick with sweat, his eyes wet with fear. “We… we can fix this! We’ll pay it back—the money, all of it! We’ll shut down the bunker, let the kids go, I swear! Just… just don’t—” Gary walked up to Daniel, and before the words left his mouth, Gary raised his fist and smacked Daniel on the face. Once, twice, three times. “All of you! You are all fucking pieces of shit! How dare you?!” Gary roared, his voice raw, jagged like a beast let loose, the kind of sound that makes your bones shake. His fist slammed into Daniel’s face again, a fourth time, the crack of knuckle on bone echoing in the boardroom, blood spraying from Daniel’s nose, splattering on the polished table like red rain. Daniel crumpled to the floor, his hands up, his slurred pleas turning to whimp

Serena stepped forward, her tablet still in hand, her face calm but her eyes glinting with a quiet fury, her voice steady, cutting through the chaos. “Master Wang,” she said, her words soft but firm, her fingers tapping fast, pulling up more files, more proof of their crimes. “The cops are outside. They’ve got the evidence—bank records, bunker logs, witness statements from the kids. They’re ready to take them in.” Gary nodded, his jaw tight, his eyes still burning, his voice low, dangerous, like a storm about to break. “Good,” he said, his words heavy, each one a nail in their coffin. “But that’s not enough. Prison’s too good for these dogs. They need to feel it—really feel it—for the rest of their miserable lives.” He turned back to the men, his hands clenching, his voice dropping to a growl, his eyes dark, unblinking like a predator staring down its prey. “Here’s what’s gonna happen,” he said, his words slow, deliberate, each one a promise of pain. “You’re all fired—right now.

Lola let out a long, slow sigh, the kind that carried decades of weight, and eased back in her workchair, fingers drumming softly on the armrest. She took a sip of her coffee, the steam curling up around her silver hair, and fixed him with those sharp eyes, warm but tinged with something deeper—regret, maybe, or resolve. “Have you forgotten the reason, sweet boy?” she said, her tone gentle but teasing, like she was scolding him for losing his keys. “Or did Serena leave that part out?” Gary frowned, searching her face, the glow of her cheeks and the spark in her gaze, tightening his chest. “She told me some—said you kept me outta this mess to protect me, keep me grounded ‘til I could handle it. But I need it from you, Grandma. Why’d you let me think we were nothing when you had all this? Your husband is the fucking founder of the Wang Empire and…” “Language!” Granny cut in. • Chapter 60: Grandma Lola

Leaving Titan Forge, Gary drove straight back home to his mansion. He smiled as he drove past the street lights. It was fun to see everyone squirm in fear of him after finding out he was some messenger. Madam Ann, a funny woman. What would she do when she and every other person found out that he was not just a messenger from the Wang Empire, but Master Wang himself. Soon, Gary got to his mansion. The mansion sat there, still, heavy, billions of dollars sitting firmly under the night sky. As soon as he got to the gate, it was automatically opened up for him as his biometrics was scanned from miles away. He was going to see his grandmother. She was discharged from Asclepius early that morning and according to Montague, she was better than ever. He stopped his old dirty car on the driveway when three men and two ladies all cloaked in black and white bowed to greet him and then, two of the men got into Gary’s car to drive it into the garage. “Dispose of that car,” he said. “I don’t

  • Chapter 59: Shock Them To The Bones

“To who? That guy?” everyone asked in shock—some in their minds, others in whispers. Felix, still on his knees, gaped, blood trickling down his chin. “What the…?” Gary slipped his phone back into his pocket, hands resting easy, like he hadn’t just flipped the world upside down. “No need to fix anything yet,” he said, voice smooth as silk. “Just didn’t want my mom catching a slap she couldn’t handle. Tell your guy here to ease up—family stuff, you know?” Harrison straightened, nodding fast, his grizzled face a mix of relief and awe. “Of course, of course—Victor, you heard him! No slapping, no nothing unless he says!” He turned to Gary, lowering his voice, respectful but careful. “You’re the messenger, right? Whatever you need, Titan Forge’s got it. Just name it.” The crowd buzzed again, softer now, trying to figure out who Gary was. Messenger? From who? The Sun Group? Someone bigger? Gary didn’t answer; he just gave a small nod, keeping his cards close. He wasn’t Mr. Wang to them—n

  • Chapter 58: The Messenger's Shadow

Madame Ann had expected a hand to land hard across her face, a stinging mark to match the humiliation already pooling in her gut. She braced herself, eyes squeezing shut, her breath catching as Razor’s shadow loomed closer, his raised palm promising a lesson she wouldn’t forget. But the slap never came. Instead, a firm grip closed around Razor’s wrist, stopping his hand mid-air like a puppet snagged on its strings. The big man blinked, startled, his mean grin faltering as he turned to see who dared. It was Gary. Gary Wang—calm as a still pond, his eyes steady, not a flicker of fear in him despite the chaos he’d just waded into. His plain jacket hung loose, his sneakers scuffed, nothing about him screaming power—yet there he stood, holding Razor like it was nothing. Madam Ann’s eyes popped open, her jaw dropping as she stumbled back, clutching her chest. “Gary?!” she croaked, voice a mix of shock and leftover venom from spitting in his face earlier. “What the hell are you doing?”

The crowd shifted, murmurs bubbling up again, unsure now. Madam Ann, hovering behind Felix, clutched her purse tighter, her painted nails digging into the leather. Kage, still nursing his swollen cheek, peeked from the dirt, his shades long gone and eyes darting between Razor and Felix like a kid watching a storm brew. Gary stayed back, hands in his pockets, wiping the last of Madam Ann’s spit from his cheek with his sleeve, a faint smirk playing on his lips. Felix might’ve slapped Razor, but Razor wasn’t the type to snap easily—not yet. Felix straightened his suit, brushing off Razor’s words like lint, his grin creeping back. “Warning?” he said, voice dripping with that rich-boy swagger. “You don’t warn a Branstad, pal. You listen.” And with that, he reared back—slap!—another hit, lighter this time, more insult than force, like he was swatting a fly. Razor’s face didn’t move, but something dark flickered in his eyes, a shadow passing over still water. The crowd held its breath ag

Everyone had high hopes, and it seemed having Felix around was finally paying off. First of all, his entry alone shook the crowd. Who else could afford to drive an Aston Martin? The sleek beast purred up to the Titan Forge gate, silver paint gleaming like a middle finger to the broke folks gawking. Felix stepped out, all slick suit and smug grin, like he was still the governor’s golden boy. Gary stayed silent, watching the whole scene unfold from the edge of the crowd. Felix hadn’t seen him yet—the mysterious guy his dad had knelt to the night before, sweating and begging under dim lights. But Gary knew the truth: nobody gave a damn about Felix anymore. His dad’s governor gig was toast, all thanks to Felix’s proud peacock ass strutting too hard, pissing off the wrong people and trying to flirt with Evelyn. Gary grabbed Madam Ann’s hand, leaning in close, whispering loud enough to cut through the noise. “Mom, I’m sure you heard that guy. Victor Slade’s coming. Please, Mom, let’s lea

  • Chapter 55: Men Who Don't Play

Up on Titan Forge’s top floor, the boardroom smelled like old coffee and cigar stubs. Harrison Wolfe sat at the head of a long, scratched-up table, his gray hair thinning at the edges, a faint scar running down his jaw from some fight he’d never talk about. His eyes were tired but hard, like he’d seen too much and still didn’t blink. Victor Slade—folks called him Razor—sat to his right, leaning back in his chair, flipping a pocketknife open and shut with a soft click. Half a dozen other guys, upper echelons in the company—sat around, papers and maps spread out messy, their coffee cups half-empty. Harrison tapped a pen on the table, slow and steady. “We’re in a good spot,” he said, voice low, rough from years of yelling over construction sites. “Lancasters, Howards, Lockwods—they’re small potatoes. We push them out, take what’s theirs, and Master Wang’s gonna see we’re the ones who matter. Real partners, not just hired help.” Razor smirked, closing his knife with a snap. “Lancast

Kage soon showed up, dressed in a slick black suit that probably cost more than Gary’s car, his shades perched on his nose like he was some movie star. He rolled up in a shiny Bentley, the tires screeching. He stepped out with that cocky swagger—like he owned the damn street. The crowd at Titan Forge’s gates parted a bit, some jaws dropping, others just glaring. Madam Ann lit up like a kid on Christmas, rushing over, hands clasped like she was praying to him. “Kage, oh, thank God you’re here!” she gushed, her voice all syrup and desperation. “These idiots won’t let me in—me, Madam Ann Lancaster, Sun Group’s project manager! Wang Empire’s my shield now, and I need to see Harrison Wolfe. You’ve got the pull—make it happen!” Kage adjusted his shades, smirking down at her. “Ann, you’re a mess, you know that?” he asked. “I… I know. I am sorry, Kage,” Madam Ann stammered, her voice shaky but clawing for control. “Look, I was foolish and blinded. But I’m ready to give you Evelyn anytim

He wiped his face, calm as ever, but inside, he was done warning. They wanted to rant? Fine. He’d let ‘em crash and burn. He took a breath, voice steady but loud enough to carry. “Mom, I’m telling you one more time—stop this. You’re kicking a hornet’s nest. Harrison Wolfe don’t mess around, and he’s got no love for the Lancasters. You took his project, and he’s pissed. We need to go home, get an invite card, and—” “Invite card?” she laughed, a nasty, guttural sound. “I don’t need no damn card, you idiot! I’m Madam Ann Lancaster, the Sun Group project manager!
