Jessica watched as her date walked to the bathroom, how could she tell him that although she was the one who brought the idea, she felt so uncomfortable sitting and dining with the same people who made rumors about her in high school?

She mustered enough courage to walk over to where a group of people sat, chattering as well “Jess” a young man said alerting the others as they looked at her “Good evening, guys” Jessica said with a shy smile.

She calmly sat on the empty seat with her name on it “So.. where’s your boyfriend we famously heard about from Valerie” A young lady said enthusiastically “Yeah, we would like to see him” a young man said with a grin on his lips, holding a glass of wine to his lips.

“I’m sure Valerie just said things,” another said stopping her from speaking “He.. just went.. to the washroom,” Jessica said with a shaky voice “He must have bladder issues,” another said laughing as the others joined him as well.
