Ch 7: A Promise to Find Him

Ethan left the crowd after saving the old man with a calm and unchanged expression. He walked back to the Golden Spring Hotel. As he entered the hotel, the attendants once again greeted him warmly, but Ethan didn't stop. He took the elevator to his suite.

Meanwhile, in the Springfield City Hospital, an old man had been rushed to a VIP ward. A group of doctors were standing around his bed but their expressions were not right.

"Why does he look fine?"

Doctors were puzzled about how the old man looked well even after a heart attack. This should not be the case for a patient who just had a heart attack. However, since he looked fine and the results of all tests were good, they decided to keep the old man under observation.

Currently, in the brightly lit room, the old man lay comfortably in a hospital bed.

Creak~

All of a sudden, the door to the ward burst open and three people rushed inside.

"Grandpa!"

A young man called out, hurrying to the old man's bedside. He was followed by another man who was a bit older and a beautiful young woman who looked to be about 24 years old.

"Dad, are you alright?" Jaxen Garner asked with concern while moving to stand on the other side of the bed.

The beautiful young woman, Elysia Garner, had a face full of worry. She knelt beside the bed and took the old man's hand. Then she asked in a trembling voice, "Grandpa, how are you feeling?"

Before the old man could answer, the door opened again, and the little girl who had been with the old man earlier walked in. She saw the young woman who was also her older sister and rushed forward before hugging her tightly.

"Sister!" the little girl started crying. Her eyes were already filled with tears. She couldn't help but complain, "I was so scared. I thought something terrible was going to happen to Grandpa!"

Elysia hugged the little girl back, comforting her. She stroked her sister's hair and said, "Liana, it's okay now. Grandpa's fine. You were really brave today."

Jaxen Garner and Caius Garner, who were the little girl's father and cousin, looked at the old man with relief in their eyes. Jaxen then turned to his father and repeated Elysia's question, asking, "Dad, how are you feeling now?"

The old man slowly opened his eyes and smiled weakly at his family. Then he spoke in a soft but steady voice, "I'm alright. There is no need to worry. I feel much better now"

Everyone nodded, but their faces still held concern. Caius couldn't help but say, "But Grandpa, you collapsed earlier, and the doctors said it was serious. Are you sure you are really okay?"

The old man nodded. His eyes narrowed slightly as he tried to recall the details, and said, "Yes, I'm fine now. A young man helped me."

The beautiful young woman, Elysia frowned and asked in surprise, "A young man? Who? How did he help you?"

The old man shook his head slowly. He was puzzled as to how someone could heal his heart to such an extent that it felt as if he had never had a heart attack. The pain had long since disappeared.

"I don't know who he was. All I felt at that time was that someone held my hand, and after a while, I started feeling better. My visions were blurry at that time so I was unable to see him. And then I fainted. Although I didn't see him, Liana must have seen him."

Everyone immediately cast glances at Liana who had witnessed everything.

"Do you know who this young man Grandpa is talking about is?" Jaxen asked her gently.

Liana nodded quickly and smiled. "His name is Ethan Graves. He saved Grandpa. He said we would meet again if fate wills it."

Everyone in the room exchanged glances, confused by the mysterious man who had appeared out of nowhere and saved the old man. They couldn't understand how someone could heal a heart attack just by holding hands.

Could it be?

Jaxen, Caius, and Eysia exchanged glances, as if talking something through their eyes.

The old man seemed to understand what they were thinking. He said, "There is no need to guess. He definitely is a martial warrior and a powerful one. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to help me to this degree. When he held my hand, I clearly felt stellar dust moving within my body from his palm. He is at least a warrior at Third Realm of Martial Arts."

Martial arts?

When Liana heard these two words, her eyes lit up. She couldn't help but exclaim, "That brother was actually a martial warrior? Wow!"

Then her face suddenly changed, as if she thought of something, and muttered, "Can't I also learn Martial Arts? Dad, brother, and sister have all learned martial arts? Why not me?"

She was obviously frustrated just thinking about it.

Everyone looked at each other. Then Caius moved closer to Liana, grabbed her hand, and said lovingly, "My baby sister, you know your condition, right? You can't practice martial arts with such a weak body. When your body grows strong, I will definitely teach you martial arts. Ok!"

Liana was not a fool. She was already 16 and knows how the world works. Shaking her head, she smiled but her smile seemed a little dull.

"It's ok, brother. I understand. I was just saying. There is no need to console me."

After that, everyone stayed with the old man for a few hours before they left, leaving Elysia with the old man.

When there was no one else, the old man spoke, "Elysia!"

"Yes, Grandpa!"

"Look for that young man. Since he could cultivate at least to the Third Realm of Martial Arts at such a young age, he must have a strong backing. You know what I mean, right?"

The old man looked and gave a deep glance to Elysia.

Elysia hesitated a little. Then she said, "Grandpa, it's been three years already. Why don't you for.."

"No," the old man spoke coldly, "I can't. How can I forget him? He was my..."

When the old man started getting emotional, Elysia hurriedly said, "I'll look for him. Don't get agitated. I promise to find him."
