13. Partners?
“ Hell freaking NO!”.

Isabella was taken aback when he, her supposed partner, yelled out his response. Sincerely speaking, she had been expecting him to be willing and docile about the whole arrangement but his reaction two seconds ago was an indicator that he was not in agreement with the decision, so he wasn’t the one who was calling the shots.

“ I didn’t agree to have any partner and I don’t want one, I work alone and that’s it. “ he said.

Isabella scoffed, if he worked well alone, then why did they need a partner for him. All she knew was that he was a special consultant for the police, CID to be specific. What he did for them, she didn’t know.

“ what exactly is your work again?”, she asked.

“ none of your business!”, he fired abruptly.

Isabella scoffed, this is great, just great. Not only did she have an amateur as a partner, she also had a secretive partner too.

Well, she wasn’t the one who needed a partner, he was the one that needed a partner. She was good either way.
