Chapter 14: How To Survive From Monster Arapaima

Tch!

Narukha wanted to laugh at the arapaima fish monster which was almost ten meters long. For years he has lived with monsters in a poor neighborhood.

During that time, Narukha had gotten used to surviving by fighting monsters. Narukha had guessed from the start that she had read the information about the Azbaranizia Forest.

There were a number of things that bothered Narukha.

First, there are no Albizia Julibrissin trees in this arid area. Even though in the mission statement, it was very clearly written that they had to pick the fruit of the Albizia Julibrissin tree, which was located in the gathering area where they were at that time.

Second, the name of the forest is Azbaranizia forest. Somehow it took Narukha a few minutes to realize that the names 'Azbaranizia' and 'Albizia' were almost identical.

Narukha, not knowing where from, suddenly had the thought that the Albizia plant must be in that forest. Wherever, that plant certainly would not be far from the Forest of Azbaranizia.

Third, the Forest of Azbaranizia hides a river whose waters flow to the mountain rivers of the North.

Since reading that, Narukha believes that the existence of the Arapaima monster is not just a rumor. Narukha knew that the arapaima fish was a type of freshwater fish that could most likely live in rivers.

If the Azbaranizia Forest and the Albizia tree were connected, and the ground suddenly fell in a circular shape, Narukha knew this was a trap.

"The water is rising!" A male player screamed in a terrified screeching voice.

Narukha watched the free-swimming arapaima fish flitting beneath them all. If they slipped a bit and fell, they would turn into food for the arapaima fish.

After three roots managed to stretch out and form a bridge between the tree trunks, Narukha racked his brains. The problem is that in the middle of the Albizia tree's outstretched roots, it has shrunk a bit. So that the three players in front of Narukha are now too afraid to cross.

[(!) Warning! The remaining time has almost reached the remaining time has almost reached the limit (!)]

[Time Remaining: 24 Minutes 33 Seconds]

'Damn, what material should I use to make a fishing rod?!' Naruto seemed to be screaming inside.

Narukha immediately reached into his jacket pocket. All parts of the inside and outside pockets, as well as trouser pockets, reached into to take out something in it.

Until finally Narukha found a piece of glass. This is his former manual operation on his hands.

"Hey, you! Why are you silent!?" A man shouted at Narukha.

With a thoughtful expression, Narukha turned to the person who had shouted at her earlier. Narukha saw a man of the same age as her look haughty and scared at the same time.

Narukha was furious. Because his spontaneous action earlier could attract the attention of tree roots to make way for it, Narukha seemed to be made a foundation to help the players here.

'If they level up, will they be able to still remember me?' Naruto thought.

For Narukha, they are all just humans who will throw someone away when they are no longer useful.

"You brat! You want to set us up?!"

Narukha clenched his jaw.

As time went on the water level beneath them rose to almost half of the tree trunk.

A flash of mischievous idea because of the annoyance in Narukha's heart suddenly appeared. Narukha looked at the piece of glass that was the size of an adult's middle finger.

"ARGH! I COULD DIE WHEN WAITING FOR THAT USEFUL BOY!"

Narukha turned and raised both eyebrows when the man who swore at her immediately left. Suddenly running fast in between his breath panting.

All the players, except for Narukha, suddenly panicked. From the start the man didn't stop yelling at Narukha, he had already guessed that the man would only harm himself.

"HEY, YOU DON'T RUN!!"

"CAREFUL! IF YOU WANT—"

A player's screams stopped when an arapima fish suddenly jumped right at the man who was about to cross.

The man's scream of pain was heard and made all the players wince in pain. The three roots that formed the path suddenly wobbled as the man tried to avoid being pounced on by the arapaima monster.

"Hold on!" A player who was in the same lane as the man gave the command.

Several players who were in the same lane with the man spontaneously backed away in unison to keep their distance so they wouldn't be pounced on. Also, they secure the grip with the roots so that they don't fall or slip due to the shaking of these roots.

"HELP!"

No one wants to help.

Narukha noticed the look in the man's eyes looked pitiful at him. But Narukha did not give warmth. Before finally the man could not defend himself, fell with the arapaima fish, and became food for other arapaima fish.

Suddenly the water beneath them turned a deep red. Some of the players immediately closed their eyes because they couldn't bear to watch the body being torn apart before their eyes.

Narukha curved a crooked smile, satisfied.

After Narukha deliberately waited until the arapaima fish had finished eating the players between them, Narukha got ready. He changed positions, holding on to one of his right sides, then held out the glass in his left hand.

The sharp end of the broken glass was rubbed against a tree trunk. Narukha watched the movement of the arapaima fish scatter again.

One of the arapaima fish came towards the trunk of the Narukha tree.

'The other fish immediately moved very fast after the man's body was torn to pieces. It's as if they already smelled blood...' Narukha thought as she rubbed the edge of the broken glass.

Recalling the fleeting memory of when arapaima fish invaded the body of a player whose flesh had been splattered in the water, Narukha wanted to make sure of one thing.

"What are you doing?! The fish are spinning under you!" Cloe called out to Narukha. He was in the middle lane, just to the left of Narukha.

Narukha didn't answer. On purpose.

He wanted to focus his attention.

One second...

Two seconds...

"Hey, Narukha! You're fishing for those arapaima fish!" This time Latusha shouted.

Naruto still didn't care.

Three!

On the count of three, after setting her sights on one of the arapaima fish, Narukha threw the glass shard in her hand. Because Narukha's throw was quite powerful, be...

NGRROOAAAA!!!

The tip of the glass shard hit the eyeball of the arapaima fish. As a result, the arapaima fish monster's pained groans sounded like a nightmare melody.

All the players, except for Narukha, suddenly suppressed their ears so they wouldn't hear the aching moans.

Narukha watched enthusiastically.

'Right on target!' Narukha cheered inside.

As expected. Blood flowed from the eyeballs of the arapaima fish, flowed into the water, then two other arapaima fish immediately swam away. Hurry up to the arapaima fish that are in pain and tear the arapaima to pieces.

The arapaima fish in pain twitched its tail. The sound of water splashing was heard very quickly from the tail of a group of arapaima fish, creating a fairly large wave of water.

Narukha turned his gaze to the direction the Albizia tree had appeared.

In just a matter of seconds, not just one root was sticking out, but several roots at once. Everything extended to the tree trunks of the players as before so as to form a new path that was more traversable for humans to traverse.

The path formed now could lead them to the top of the tree. Without having to be afraid because they are being watched by the apaima fish below them because a group of apaima fish are focused on eating their friends.

All the players stared in disbelief at what had just happened.

Narukha smiled contentedly. Mission success!
