Chapter 7: Dimension Portal Hall

[WELCOME TO PORTAL DIMENSI, OUR NEXT FUTURE SOLDIER! WE'RE SO GLAD TO GREETING YOU HERE...]

One more, the echo of a sound system sounded in Narukha's ears. His two feet stepped slowly into the gathering area with white LED lights at several points of space. It's so wide and wide.

Narukha couldn't stop looking at the humans gathered in this area. Everything runs from the West, in contrast to him who runs from the South.

Not only that. Above each human's head, there is a horizontal polka dot line and a cross symbol.

Information under the cross symbol: No Signal For System.

From the left side of the wall, every six people came out together from inside the pill tube elevator. They used the pill tube elevator access to this floor.

Narukha counted that the pill tube elevator only went up and down twice. This means that twelve participants are special people who can use the pill tube elevator access.

"What floor is this?" asked Narukha to someone beside her.

The man who looked like a bodyguard next to Narukha replied, "Forty-nine."

"This is the top floor?"

"No. For this building, there are two top floors. This, and the most private floor above," replied the man beside Narukha.

Narukha frowned even more. "Is there a floor limit for residents and the likes of us?"

The bodyguard man beside Narukha was confused. Then Narukha quickly corrected him.

"I heard that the floors for prospective System Warrior members are very secretive. Definitely not everyone can enter and access isn't arbitrary."

"Then?"

"What floor is the limit for people outside of System Warrior candidates?"

"Floor forty-third. Residents are only allowed up to that floor."

"And the elevator access used is definitely different, right?"

"Of course."

"Then why did they come using the pill tube elevator access?" asked Narukha, pointing with her chin.

The gaze of the bodyguard next to Narukha moved to follow the direction Narukha was staring at. After paying attention for a moment, the male bodyguard gave a short mutter as he nodded briefly.

"Why do you question that?" The bodyguard returned a question.

Narukha took a deep breath. "Just answer. Are they the children of important people with power?"

Narukha's question was not immediately answered. Narukha was provoked to feel curious.

"Believe in what you conjecture. Trusting what others say will become a weakness after you learn the exercises level by level here."

Just like that the answer from a male bodyguard.

On the right side of this area, a large screen stretched from the right wall to the left wall. The width of the two sides of the wall was estimated to be more than thirty meters. The floor are made of thick glass.

How surprised Narukha was when he realized that under the stepped floor in this room, there was a three-dimensional visual being rotated. Like a film under the floor. The visuals alternate themes changed every three seconds.

One of the rotating visual themes shows monsters.

"You can gather with other prospective soldiers," said someone next to Narukha.

Naruto frowned. "Where are you going?"

"Over there."

Narukha's eyes followed the direction the bodyguard pointed at. A few meters to the left of the three steps of the stairs, six men dressed like bodyguards stood. They kept an eye on all the potential members of the System Warrior.

"Why do they all look as scary as you?" asked Narukha looking horrified at the six people there.

The bodyguard man beside Narukha didn't answer. He immediately stepped away from Narukha to come to six people over there.

Narukha took a deep breath. Even this isn't what he want, he had to join this group of people.

Their total ... he don't know how many.

The only thing was important is Narukha marked twelve people using the special elevator access.

As long as his two feet stepped, Narukha's eyes were sharp watching them all. Until he regained consciousness when someone tapped one shoulder.

"Heyyo! Are you one of the aliens from outer space?"

Narukha looked at a black man that looks like a Nigerian who looked so interested in Narukha's clothes.

Narukha's eyes shifted to her own clothes. Damn, he forgot that he was wearing a rather thick suit, the material almost resembled an astronaut's suit.

This was all because he was in an execution-like room.

"I'm an alien," Narukha answered casually, but her face was straight.

The man in black was wide-eyed. "Really? You're some kind of half-monster who secretly lives on Earth?"

 Crazy people, thought Naruto.

"Yes. To eat people like you," Narukha replied without looking at the Nigerian man beside her.

Narukha's steps quickened. Feeling uninterest to speak with this Nigerian man. Not because of racial differences, but because Narukha is lazy to talk to anyone here.

"Hey, hey! I would be honored if we became friends!"

Suddenly the Nigerian man was beside Narukha. The Nigerian man casually reached out his hand as he stepped back.

"Introduce, just call me Cloe. Who are you?"

Narukha didn't want to look at Cloe's hand at all. His gaze remained straight ahead, ignoring Cloe's presence.

Getting no response, Cloe felt awkward. But his heart not getting offended. Narukha's character intrigued him.

"You will spare my hand?" she asked.

Narukha took a deep breath. "I'm not interested in making friends with anyone here," he replied.

"You definitely need friends. Take me, for example."

Narukha's steps stopped. He looked at Cloe disinterestedly.

"What's the profit of being friends with you?" Narukha asked.

Cloe didn't answer. During the silence, Cloe thought about the right answer to Narukha's question.

"Cloe!" someone's voice tugged Cloe.

Therefore, a woman appeared who put one hand on Cloe's shoulder. Her smile curved up happily.

"Hey, Cloe! We meet again!"

Narukha frowned. Wait, what? A woman?

Narukha's eyes glanced around the room. He didn't realize that among the crowd of humans here, there were also women.

This must be because Narukha was too focused on the twelve people he suspected of being the children of the elite.

"Who's he?"

Narukha get little shocked. He turned his gaze to the woman next to Cloe.

"Oh, I don't know his name. He even let my hands like this," Cloe replied while glancing at her own hands.

The woman next to Cloe stared at Cloe's hand that was still outstretched to Narukha. He winced as he understood what Cloe meant.

Because a little unbearable, Narukha finally returned Cloe's hand. They shook hands very briefly.

"Narukha," replied Naruto.

Cloe was excited to hear the name Narukha. Meanwhile, Narukha was already walking ahead of Cloe.

"Hey, your name is really unique! Can we be friends?!" Cloe asked from beside Narukha.

Really? Isn't there someone who can let Narukha rest in peace?

Narukha answered briefly, "No. I don't intend to be anyone's friend here."

Not long after that, the sound system sounded once more.

[OUR NEXT FUTURE SOLDIER, PLEASE FORM SEVEN LINES. EACH SEVEN PEOPLE WILL BE CALLED BY ALTERATION TO ACTIVATE THE SYSTEM IN EACH HEAD...]

All the humans in this room regularly formed lines at the command of that voice. Narukha followed the third row from the right side, standing three rows from the front so he could advance quickly.

The seven people in the frontmost horizontal row stepped forward to climb the stairs. At the very top of the stairs, there were seven pill tube elevator doors. They waited five seconds for the door to open, entered, then closed again to move up.

The lift path leading up is secret. Narukha and the others could only watch as the pill tube elevator had not yet moved upwards.

Waiting for almost an hour per line, it was finally Narukha's turn to move forward.

"Hey, want to play a guessing game with me?"

Narukha turned her face to the side, looking at the woman with short black hair mixed with red. The woman's eyes were sharp as well as a sinister smile.

"What are you talking about?" asked Narukha.

"Guess what's inside upstairs," answered the woman in shorts and a nearly sleeveless shirt.

Narukha laughed crookedly. "Maybe the space leading to death is closer."

Hearing Narukha's answer, the woman beside her raised both eyebrows. For some reason there was an immediate interest in Narukha.
