The silence remained until we all had reached Liora house. I don't know why, but I feel that the man would do something terrible all of the time. It might be because he was wearing a mask and didn't want to talk that much.

Not to mention the weird magical aura that comes from this guy. Maybe because I had become a ring that my magic sense was all messed up right now or it could just be this world had a different magical aura from a human in my world.

Still, I found it a bit surprising that Liora just had a faint magical aura when I first met her. I could hardly notice it but it doesn't matter that much as she wouldn't become a mage after all.

"Thank you. You could put down the cask already as we're already in front of my cabin," Liora says.

I do notice that Liora was kind of living far from the rest of the village. There are only a few cabins around her home.

"It's better for me to carry it all the way inside your home." That man replied.

Were people in this world this kind? I know that I'm not that much of a person who dwells in society that much. Still, it's hard for me to believe that someone would do something like this out of their goodness of heart unless they had their motives or this man was just following his master's orders.

"Is this because you wanted to eat here?" Liora says, "It's just there's nothing but only bread and some heat up soup, will that be okay?"

"How could you guess my mind, young girl! I'm quite surprised." That man says, "I haven't eaten anything at all and I have gotten quite hungry."

"I see, just know that it wouldn't be that tasty but it would fill your stomach at least," Liora says as she opens the door of her cabin. Both of them went inside the house and that man put down the cask as he closed the door gently.

"Please wait a while. I need to heat the soup this morning." When Liora was just about to head to the kitchen area, she felt that somebody grabbed her hand.

That man grabs Liora's right hand tightly and doesn't let it go. Liora realizes that this man was up to no good, Liora struggles to let her right hand escape the man's grasp.

That man finally uncloaks his hood as we both see his face. The man had the same eyes and skin color as the duke son we saw before.

"What're you trying to do! Unhand me this instant or I scream!" Liora said that towards the man, I could see Liora trying to hide the fact that she was scared. I know that as I saw her faint magical aura started to shake.

The man grins at Liora. "Scream as much as you want but none of the villagers could hear you anymore…"

I finally realize that this man isn't human at all. From his grins back then, I could see that he had those teeth, the only people who had those teeth were vampires. That also explains why this man's magical aura was completely different.

I don't know whether Liora realizes it or not but I think there's no way she wouldn't notice it at all.

"Help! Anybody help me! To-The-There is a vampire here…" Liora tried to scream with all of her might but it seemed that no one was coming here at all.

"It's a good try and that scream would be better I guess when it's time I suck you dry." The vampire says that.

Liora tried to shout again but no matter how hard she tried. There's no one coming knocking down the Liora cabin door to ask if there's something wrong.

"No one would hear you, human girl, I had already cast a silent spell in this cabin area."

Silence spell? I never noticed that the vampire cast the silence spell at all. I then somehow remember and realize how stupid I am now for not learning it sooner.

I did sense some magical energy coming out when the vampire closed the door. It was so dumb of me as I'm a mage and I didn't realize it at all. Why do I think that it was just some random magical energy that leaked out because that man couldn't control it.

Liora wouldn't be in this trouble if I had noticed it earlier. I know that this girl isn't related to me and we barely know each other, but something inside of me knows that I didn't want this girl to die.

I know there's nothing much I could do in my current state right now, if I had a body, I would surely use light magic to immediately kill this vampire. I know that this vampire isn't that robust judging by its magical aura alone but to a human-like Liora, the vampire would seem powerful.

Liora was still screaming and begging the vampire to let her go. "Please… I-I-I don't want to die… let me go." She says all of that while tears start to come out slowly.

"I couldn't do that human girl, I'm quite hungry and I had chosen you to be my first meal." The vampire said.

I knew that the vampire didn't know that I'm a living thing and couldn't hear anything I said towards Liora. I had a plan which I didn't know would work out or not. This all depended on Liora whether she could do it or not.

That was for Liora to cast light magic and free herself from the vampire grasp. Realizing that Liora's magical power isn't that much judging by her aura, the least she could do was make a light orb and hit it towards the vampire.

It would hurt the vampire for a few minutes and that would be the time for Liora to escape. The only problem right now was Liora itself. Not about her magical power but how can Liora master the spell in such a short time.

Just looking at Liora's life, I realize that she was just a village girl and there's no way that she had an experience with magic before.

I really hope she can learn the basics of magic and cast it right away without any failure. With the limited amount of magic she had, there's only one chance at this. If she could do it, she would escape and if not… Liora would surely die today.

"Liora! Listen to me… there's still hope for you to live." I say towards Liora, hoping that she does listen to what I'm going to tell her next. "You must cast a light spell to hurt the vampire. I know that you might think it's impossible as you're just an ordinary village girl. Still, this is the only way for you to escape from the vampire."

Liora looked at me and said with a trembling voice, "Please…. I don't want to die." She says, "Bu-Bu-But, can I do it, I don't even have any magical power..."

"I already know the fact that you're not suited to be a mage but you must try or you will die." I say towards her, "Listen carefully, I'm going to be quick… Focus your mind and try to gather all of your magic towards your left hand.

"Ho-How do I do that?" Liora says, "I don't know how… am I gonna die?"

"If you're a mage you would surely notice it by yourself...there is not much time as the next step would be trying to cast the light orb," I say that in a hurry as I see that the vampire isn't going to wait that long anymore.

"You just need to imagine a ball of light in your head and...." I didn't finish my sentence as the vampire was about to suck the blood out of Liora.

Seeing the vampire's teeth getting closer towards Liora's neck, Liora struggles to free herself as she doesn't want to die yet. It was a futile effort as there's no way Liora could fight against the superhuman strength that the vampire had in them.

Suddenly there was a knocking sound outside the cabin door. With that, the vampire stops as he pushes Liora to the floor. The vampire then approaches the door.

"Liora are you there? I wanted to ask you whether you could look after Reyna for me, there's something that my husband and I wanted to do tonight." We do hear a baby sound as well.

It was a female voice and she picked the wrong time to come here. Realizing that this might be the chance for Liora to escape the vampire.

"Liora! You have to escape or you will surely die…" I say that as she seems to do something else, I soon realized what her intention was. "You're a fool for doing this as you had the chance right now and you wanted to gain the vampire's attention again."

"I'm a fool but I can't let the vampire kill those people, I'm the one who brought the vampire here and I should be the one who deserves to die..." Liora said as I noticed that her voice was still shaky.

The vampire slowly opens the doors. It was indeed a lady holding a baby in her arms. The lady was a bit surprised that she saw a man opening that door. She must have expected that Liora would open it.When the door was open, Liora shouts as loud as she could tell the lady to run away from this place. The lady immediately notices Liora was on the floor and starts to question the vampire instead of running."Who're you, young man… What're you doing inside Liora house and why is Liora on the floor?" The lady said that. The vampire didn't reply at all as he showed his bloodthirsty expression towards the lady. The moment he does that, I could sense that this vampire was using another spell. I know pretty well about it as I always do it when I am in a challenging situation to get some items. The spell that he was using was none other than a charm spell, reading the magical energy that the vampire used on that spell. Even with the vast magical energy that Liora had at this moment, it would be a waste if she keeps doing the light orb spell. It doesn't even hit the vampire even once and I know that Liora needed to learn a new kind of spell to kill this vampire."Liora stops wasting magical energy like that. The vampire says as both of his hands had transformed into a sharp blade and if that hit Liora, I am sure that she would die instantly. When I took a closer look at that sharp blade, I noticed that there's some spell that had been cast on it. If I was not mistaken, I think the spell was called Decaying Blood.I don't use that kind of spell but I do have experienced its effect before. When I was in a

She was the one that invited the vampires into this village in the first place. If Madam Nia doesn't invite them, all of this would never happen and this village might still exist as it used to. Still, there's no use for me to tell Liora that as she would definitely reject it at all. She will just keep blaming herself or me. Chapter 15: The Village of Rynn

It's been a few weeks already and it seems like Liora has grasped a few basic fundamentals of casting a spell. She's still not able to cast anything too complicated, but she can at least use the simple spells that are common in most schools of magic—like healing or fireballs. While training her, I do notice that her healing and fire affinity seems to be much stronger than my own. It doesn't seem as if she is using any specific rituals for these abilities though; just standard magical practice should suffice? That might explain why she was so much more powerful the first she casted the fireballs spell at that vampire. And I have no doubt there will come a day when we'll be fighting for our lives, she will be able to protect herself and others around her. So far though, all this practice was also helping me get used to how different it feels from using magic as a Ring; even if you know what you're doing, your body doesn't always react accordingly because it's accustomed to something e

The area was pretty vast and there's nothing that will happen even if Liora messed up some spell. It's better than the previous place that Liora suggested which was near the forest. There's no way I wanted Liora to practice magic there. It was not safe as there was a monster in the forest and what would happen if she failed to control the spell. As I was thinking of teaching her a fire-based spell. If Liora messed up, the whole forest might be consumed by fire and I don't want that to happen. This place was the perfect spot as there's nothing that will burnable things and it's close to a river.
