Chapter 15.

POV; the knife

Fatima struggles to free herself from the bonds. Her head was buzzing and grief welled up as hot tears spilled out of her eyes.

“Papa was dead. She now only has Hassan in the world who was a monster.

Revenge flooded her heart as adrenaline coursed through her but first, she needed herself.

As she inched closer to the walls of the crate, she felt something familiar on the floor. A knife.

Papa had dropped it so she could free herself, even in his death, she thought, he was still helping her.

Freeing herself wasn't going to be easy, she thought. Her hands are tied behind her, not in front.

She laid on the ground wriggled her hands about for the knife. Her hands closed around the hilt and she raised it up curving it inwards to the rope on her wrists.

She started moving the blade in an up and down motion. The code resisted at first, but gradually they weakened. But it was a long process and her hands grew tighter.

She stopped and did intervals. Gradually they came
