With the Hoxfur, he had not yet completed his work. In spite of the fact that she had already warned him to leave the lair and forget about his propositions, Aamon was still adamant about remaining in order to further convince the Hoxfur.

It would appear, however, that regardless of how much Aamon tried to persuade the Hoxfur through the use of words, she would not simply move from her position. There was a strong belief among Aamon that the Hoxfur would not even attempt to listen to any further words that Aamon had to say.
