At twilight the following morning, the dark lord's army was fully set for the attack. All his magicians and soldiers were already assembled together, waiting for the dark lord and Verona to give the command, by opening the portal which would take them to the city to be conquered.

When lord Kees and his mistress came forth to meet the prepared soldiers and magicians, they did not see it necessary to debate on which city to attack since they had already slated Rolfe to be conquered.

So, the magical portal was created due to a joint incantation made by dark lord Kees, Verona, Godric and Ned.

Afterwards, they began to walk through the portal and appear in an open field in the city of Rolfe. It took over twenty minutes for all the army of the dark lord to completely walk through the portal because the portal was a narrow one, therefore, it only allowed at most five men to walk through at the same time.
