Trisha could not turn a blind eye on Iva's request, so she had to intervene. "Murphy, you are better than this, I know how you feel. We all feel the same way so please do not let this get the better of you." Murphy took a deep breath after her words but that didn't mean he was calm, he was just conserving some energy that would be used to spark up again. But before he would attack Elena again with his words, they all heard a whistle that caused each one of them to look around for where the whistle was coming from, even Callum at this minute joined them in looking around. The whistle came again for the second and then Nassor was able to pick its director. "It's coming from over there." He ran in that direction for the others to follow his footsteps. "Nassor, you should slow down. You don't know what is making that noise." Stan followed him at once ready to pull a trigger at anything not human. Murphy was still going to talk harshly to Elena but since his friends had run off and th
Nassor, who was taking the lead, slowly pushed the door open with his gun as he quickly turned left and right after walking in. "Clear." He mentioned for Stan and Murphy to join him. As the two of them entered the house, they shut the door behind so as to prevent anything from following them in there. "Who's here??" Stan said aloud as he gun pointed up towards the stairs, because that was the next direction they were going to take since it appeared that the cry came from the upper floors. "Up here... I'm dying...." The person who had been calling out for help replied after hearing the voice of human beings. The tune was much calmer than when he called for help, and it was because some human beings had finally heard and came to his aid. The response they got made them to hasten up a bit, heading straight to the direction of the man. Immediately they came to the room, the three of them froze at what they saw, but Stan and Nassor chorused even as they couldn't take another step furth
When the three of them came back to the spot where they had told the ladies to wait, they couldn’t find any of them, even Callum was not there. Nassor, who was carrying Guzman on his back, slowly dropped him down. The three of them did not like what they were seeing at all. Stan and Murphy had already moved in two different directions to check for the ladies, but shouting their names aloud was something they didn’t do because they didn’t want to attract the aliens in the locality, more especially the Shirrens. Nassor didn’t walk far from the spot where he dropped Guzman before seeing blood on the ground thus making his mind to pant in fear. He hissed to get the attention of Stan Gibson and Murphy Herbert. When they came back to see the blood on the ground and the way there was a footprint together with the signs of knees and hands on the ground, Murphy said. “They are not dead. They can’t be dead.” “Are you sure? How can you tell that?” Nassor looked up at him. “The prints on the
It was rush hour so they had no time to lose, Murphy choked his gun immediately as he looked at Iva. “Where?” Iva’s information also made Nassor to remove his focus from Stan and look outside through the tinted glass of the building. “What the fuck! Get down!” he commanded the others as he saw an alien with a RPG kind of gun, exactly the kind they had used to destroy the house they were in when Lisa was still alive. As they obeyed him no questions and then came flying a bomb that hit the house, causing the walls and glasses of the house to collapse, the whole room was dark with smoke that they couldn’t see and there was a brief silence. Soon the silence faded with someone coughing heavily. “Are you guys okay?” It was still Nassor, he had first every other person to regain consciousness after the explosion, so he crawled around trying to find them. Meanwhile, Stan was lying on top of Guzman, he had hurriedly covered him as he saw the bomb flying towards the house, he had to keep him
As Stan, Nassor and Murphy returned to the house, Iva rushed and embraced Murphy, she was so glad to see him again strong without harm. Her heart had skipped when he disappeared adding to the fact he was the first friend she made after the apocalypse began, she saw him as a brother now. "Thank God you are alive, you got me worried." "I'm here now," Murphy calmed her with a warm embrace too, he could feel her panicked heart. "What about Callum? Did you find him?" Trisha looked at Stan and Nassor. She heard the gunshots so she was thinking they killed him and she was not wrong to think such considering how much Callum hated them and they also reciprocated the hatred. "I lost him?" Murphy was the one to answer her query. He was not looking happy after giving that response so Trisha felt he was lying to cover up for Stan and Nassor. "Answer me, did you kill him?" "Why would we do that?" Nassor baffled at how she persisted with the question. "I saw the way you looked at him earlier
When Nassor and Murphy came back into the room only to see this disappointed look on the face of the others, they were curious to know what the issue was so the needful question was let out. “Hey can somebody tell us what is going on?” Murphy asked as he rolled his eyes, looking out for the person who would speak in regards to his query. Nobody was willing to talk, so Nassor squatted close to Stan who was sitting at the entrance of the room, “Bro, talk to me, why are you all like this?” Stan looked into Nassor’s eyes and still could not tell him the cause of their problem, so he stood from the ground, and walked up to Guzman again, handing over the cell phone which he found. “Here, make the call again.” He sounded so authoritative that Guzman could not say no, he slowly took the phone and dialed in Sam’s number again. Since it was a different number, Sam had to pick because he didn’t know who it was, he was still avoiding any call from Guzman so he would not feel more guilty and
Callum led the aliens back to the place where he had parted with Stan and the others, but on getting there they were already gone. “What did you bring us here for? There is no one here.” A Shirren asked in anger as he was about to descend on Callum because he thought he was leading them astray so as to help their target escape. “They were here, I swear.” “But it is obvious to us that nobody is here. I doubt they were ever here. Are you joking with us?” Another threatened as it forged a sword out of his arm ready to kill Callum with it. “Where are they up to?” “I don’t know. This was where I left them after the explosion.” “This human is not useful to us, let’s just do away with him.” One of the Shirrens whispered to their leader. But he was loud enough that Callum overheard the suggestion and was frightened. He knew exactly what would happen to him if he didn't speak up. “Please don’t kill me, I will help you get Stan.” “You already tried and it’s useless keeping you alive.”
As Stan Gibson and his friends got to Southgate by means of a car, they saw the helicopter which Sam had sent to pick them up also arriving so there was not a single minute wasted. Even though some aliens had sighted their car moving at great speed and had pursued them, there was no way they could stop them. Getting on the helicopter, the aliens tried shooting them down like always but the pilot was quite an expert and knew how to handle such a situation. Also the team of soldiers on board also shot back at the aliens making it very difficult for them to shoot down the helicopter and soon they were out of that entire area. Free from the great danger which the city of Cincinnati put them in. Getting to Charleston, Guzman was instantly taken to the medical quarter in the camp so that he would be properly attended to, while Sam Bill was very desperate to speak to Stan Gibson but Stan as usual did not want to talk to him because he still had some grudges against the elites. Outside the
