3: Meet again

Before evening, Jace walked out of the Police Station, free.

He had both hands in his pocket as he stared at the night scenery ahead outside. The cars and the street lights. Along with the busy people passing by. It's been long since he had been this free to be able to see such scenery.

But he didn't have a smile on his face while looking around. He was still recalling what had happened earlier that day.

How the lady he had been expecting to see happily had looked down on him and betrayed his expectations the moment he met her.

He was still devastated by that and was furious. But he wasn't going to think about it at all. He was too angry to even think about it. So he had to put other things in mind at this time.

The lady he had gone to extreme miles to help had treated him like trash now. And he wasn't going to dwell on it.

He had to go home now since it was evening. And he was going to meet his family which he left at home before going to jail. At least they'd still be there waiting for him.

Jace headed back home after stopping a taxi. As he went home he recalled how his parents cried when they learnt he was going to jail. And how his siblings were devastated by the fact.

But he didn't just leave them like that. His family was struggling to survive, so before he left, he made sure that they already had something to help them survive. And even someone to help them survive.

He had put his blood sweat and tears to achieve that before he left. Now they would at least be living a comfortable life with the businesses he had suffered to get for his family before leaving.

An exquisite restaurant for his mother and a wine house for his father. And some minor jobs for his siblings.

On arrival, Jace got out of the car and paid the man. With that done, he looked up in the direction where his house was located but..

It wasn't there??

Shocked, he paused and stared at the scene for a while. He was confused while staring at the new house which was there in the place he knew as home. It wasn't his house and he was sure about that.

But what was there now was basically A Grand Mansion! One which belonged to a rich man or so! And it was as though a renovation had been made to push houses there aside to make this Grand One.

And Jace wondered if this was actually their house. Did they actually make it big within these few years and make this house? He was confused.

He slowly walked up to this house but then he caught sight of an expensive car in front of the house. It was a red race car which was pretty much high and rich. And a man was standing there beside his car while listening to music on his headset.

Jace stared at this familiar man for a while. He wondered where he had seen him before. And when he actually walked closer to this man, he recognised him.

It was Ken, Nora's younger brother. Having recognised him, he quickly walked up to him and caught the attention of the young man who had pulled off his headset in shock "You?"

"Yeah, it's me. Do you recognise me?" Jace questioned.

"What the hell are you even doing here? Who gave you the right to even come here? Who are you looking for? Get lost!" Ken snapped at him.

"What are you saying? How can you treat me like this? Don't you remember me? Don't you remember what I've done for you and your family?" He demanded.

"Done for who? You annoying brat, get out of my sight right now. I don't talk to beggars!" Ken snapped coldly.

Jace was stunned. Even him? How dare he speak to him like this after all he did for him?

This brat here by the name Ken was literally the person whom Jace had gone to jail in place of! Just a day or two before Jace's wedding with Nora, Ken who was speeding up in his car had run someone over! And this person had died on the spot!

And he had quickly run away in fear of being caught by the police so his car number was being tracked down since they didn't see him.

Ken had arrived home in panic and told His sister about it. Both were in instant fear and panic and didn't know how they'd handle this.

And that night, Jace had visited and Nora explained his problems to her in tears. And after all thought, he had decided to sacrifice it all for her family's safety.

So he had decided to go to jail in place of her brother who had done the hit-and-run murder case. And with that, Both Ken and Nora were extremely grateful to him!

Both of them had thanked him endlessly for what he had done. And with that, he had taken days of preparation for his trip. By helping his family out, and then leaving to surrender himself as the person who was riding the car.

And with that, he was sentenced to jail. Originally it was supposed to be seven years but since he surrendered himself, it was reduced to Five. And then that was how he had supposedly gone to jail in place of Nora's younger brother.

And that was basically why he was stunned and shocked at what he was getting when he returned! Because now they were all looking down at him and calling him names and trash! He was speechless at what had happened.

And not even to mention the fact that he had come home to not find his house anymore... but rather he had seen another house there... one which he didn't even recognize! So where on earth were his family?!
