Sir Winconstin II

The drive to Sir Winconstin’s estate didn’t take long, it was a spectacular sight. The estate felt like another small town right inside the heart of Ohio. Most of the houses inside the estate had the same structure and colour except Sir Winconstin’s mansion itself which was built like a castle with huge walls and large gates.

Most of the people who lived in Sir Winconstin’s estate were wealthy and comfortable people who could afford the houses in such a special location, serene atmosphere and environment.

This wasn’t the only property Sir Winconstin had, it was just one of the many he had scattered around Ohio and other parts of the country.

As they drove past, Tony couldn’t hide his awe, he was a little rich one time in his life but had never seen such beauty in a structure. It was obvious that everything used in construction of the estate was expensive and not for the middle class.

“This is just one of many,” Walker broke the silence that had lingered for quite some time during the ride, catching Tony’s awed expression.

Tony didn’t know how to respond to that, he just glanced at Walker surprised at what he just said and continued sightseeing.

“We’re here,” Walker announced, adjusting his blazers and getting ready to alight from the Cadillac. Tony tried his best to act mature and pretend as if the mansion that was built like a castle didn’t surprise him.

There were three guards stationed at the large gate of the mansion, dressed just like the ones who had been following Walker everywhere. As soon as they saw that it was one of their own cars, the gate opened by itself and the Cadillac drove right to a big car garage.

Another set of guards opened the Cadillac door, allowing Tony to step out without doing anything himself, he buttoned up his blazers and glanced around the garage, he would continue to be awed throughout his visit here. There were almost all kinds of cars in the garage, ranging from Ferrari to Lamborghini and even Rolls Royce.

Thinking of just how rich the man who claimed to be his father was made all these seem too unrealistic to Tony. In the blink of an eye he was the son of the most wealthy person in all of Ohio and he had struggled for thirty five years.

“This way, Anthony,” Walker gestured to the exit of the garage; Tony nodded and followed behind him as they walked briskly, followed closely by three guards.

Coming out of the garage, there was a great view of the mansion itself, the entrance was a large glass door that opened to a hallway that looked like that of an official space. There was a receptionist at a counter right in front of the hallway, a lady, her smile was elegant as she saw the men coming in.

“Sir Winconstin is ready to have you,” she said with a gorgeous smile on her face. Tony stared at her for a little while, she was beautiful, but he shoved off the thought, this wasn’t the reason he was here; for now he had to stay away from women.

They went up an elevator and came out in an advancedly furnished room, state of the art sofas stationed in the large sitting room. The room had everything a sitting room would have but each item was artistic, even the television set. It was so large that Tony couldn’t tell the inches.

There was a glass wall separating the sitting room and an outdoor lounge, this wall had a doorway to pass through. A man quickly came right from the doorway to meet Tony and Mr. Walker as they walked into the sitting room.

“He’s at the lounge,” he whispered and left quickly. He didn’t seem like a guard, more like a chef.

Tony wondered just how many guards and househelps worked here in this mansion.

As they walked into the lounge, the guards that had been following both of them, stayed behind the glass door. There was another state of the art sofa in the lounge, with an artistic designed glass table, on it was a bottle of Whiskey and several glass cups.

“I’ve brought your son, sir,” Walker said, as he went to stand in front of the sofa where Sir Winconstin was seated, leg crossed and a cup of whiskey in his hand.

His hair was almost entirely grey and his eyes were faded green unlike Tony’s, but it showed that he was really Tony’s father. The striking resemblance hit Walker when he saw both father and son together, he didn’t really see it when he was seeing only Tony.

Tony stood in front of his dad, hands folded behind him, what was he going to say, who’d speak first? As all these thoughts were running through his head, he heard his father’s voice.

“I’ve been waiting for this moment since I gave you to your grandmother, and now here it is. Welcome home son, I’m really pleased to have you,” Sir Winconstin rose from the sofa and placed the glass of whiskey on the table.

Then he went straight to Tony and embraced him tightly, Tony felt awkward, as he managed to embrace his father also. Even though this man looked like him, he was still a stranger, and Tony wasn’t the kind of man who had craved his father as a child.

“We’ve a lot to talk about and sadly, my time here on this earth is numbered already,” Sir Winconstin revealed to Tony immediately, his situation.

Their embrace lasted for a few more seconds then Sir Winconstin ended it and he gestured for Tony to sit on the sofa facing him. Walker stood behind Sir Winconstin, a smile plastered on his face, and Tony wondered why.

He was already feeling bad about what sir Winconstin just revealed.

“Whiskey?” His father asked, and Tony nodded.
