Uriel tried her best to make her memories resurface the right way, but it didn’t matter how many times she tried or how forcefully she thought.

Her memories just didn’t want to come back.

It was as if her mind was fighting against her at that very moment, putting so much effort only to show who was the boss.

The judge’s nose started bleeding, and her migraine became worse and worse.

For a moment she couldn’t think.

For a moment she couldn’t breathe.

For a second her whole world was nothing but stars and darkness.

It was past midnight already, and it had been almost four hours since Mathew started meditatin

Camael felt a bit of surprise, but wasn’t caught off guard at all. On the contrary, he let the spear pierce through his chest, because somehow, he not only didn’t feel any wickedness coming from Odin’s movement. He also felt that it was true to its purpose, and that was why he just let the attack hit him. However, when the weapon pierced him, what greeted the archangel wasn’t pain, but something like a trance, that made Camael go back in time, until the day he fought in the Ether Wars. In spite of that, the place where he woke up to wasn’t the in-between of worlds, where the war took place. He woke up at one of Metatron’s laboratories in Eden, tied up to an iron table, his arms and legs completely restrained by metal shackles and chains.

Elleanore left her daughter sleeping in her room, and went to wander around her house, to think more clearly about the big picture that the case of Bertrand consisted in. From her daughter’s room to the stairs, and from there to the comfortable, although modest living room. She earned enough to live ostentatiously, but chose to live modestly, to save her earnings to get her smart child to a good college when the time was right. Elleanore was a person with a complicated past that presented her with the gift of understanding people without many words. Moreover, she always tried to make the best of everything that life sent her way, which meant that she wasn’t going to waste the op

Odin guided Mathew through that dense spring forest, until they arrived at a small glade in what looked like the middle of that place. When they got closer to the centre of the glade, a fountain appeared out of nowhere, crystal clear water, looking pure as the eyes of a baby and cold as the heart of winter gushed from it.Mathew looked at the fountain, inspecting it thoroughly.Odin said nothing, but when the ‘ung’ was about to drown his hands on it to take a big sip of that water, a big head surfaced and looked at him.“There’s a price to pay for the knowledge you’re so eager to drink away. Now voosh with you! I’m not sharing my water!” The head said in an angry tone.Mathew took a f

The Judge of Flames fell over her butt as soon as the energy wave hit her. It was practically impossible that the kind of power she was feelling, refined and composed, belonged to that Mathew dude. He beat her to a pulp with brute force and raw power, he didn’t have that kind of vibe before. But she knew her senses to be sharp and never let her down, which meant that as crazy as it seemed, the young man in front of her, at that very moment... Was overflowing with a god-like power. The only problem was how his eye looked like that. It seemed as if something or someone had gouged it from its socket, in a very, very painful way. However, there was nothing she could do about it, besides waiting for him to wake up. The sun wa

The leader hesitated for a second, but thought once more, and then responded loudly. “MY NAME IS ZAGAN, AND I AM ONE OF THE DEMON KINGS OF THE SHEOL! YOU BITCH STILL DARE TO STEP UP AND LOOK ME IN THE EYES?” Mathew chuckled. “I’m looking at ‘one’ of your eyes. Can’t you see I don’t have both to look at you properly?” Even Uriel couldn’t hold back a nervous chuckle. Zagan frowned, growled, and then started running wildly towards Mathew, who just smiled, put one hand on his chest, focused for a second, and then a light shone from where his hand was upon. The long shaft of a weapon rose from Mathew’s chest, which he took in his hand and started pulling it until the whole weapon

Abigail was sitting at her desk, the teacher in front of the class, talking about the test they were going to have that day. It was simple, basic science and history. Nothing she wasn’t capable of handling on her own, even though she was very tired from the last few nights she spent hardly sleeping. Abby’s mom slept with her all the time, to reassure her none of the nightmares would happen again. The only problem was that they always happened again, the same unknown person staring at her, and sometimes, even daring to strike conversations with her. “Your mom’s gonna die soon, kid. Don’t you wanna save her??” They said, their voice strangely not male nor female. What scared Abigail the most, wasn’t the fact that the more

Baatar carried that gleam of madness in his eyes, as the tragic truth fell upon him. He went to the girl’s room and called out to them, taking them by surprise. The priest’s heart sank deep once he saw Grace and Becca ready to leave, because he didn’t want to ruin their mood by giving them the kind of news he just discovered. However, it was of the utmost importance, if they wanted to survive ‘and’ save everyone from the great catastrophe that was about to fall upon them. “Baatar? What’s going on?” Becca asked, probably noticing the priest’s urgent tone. Grace watched seriously, while quitting everything she was doing to pay attention to what Baatar had to say. “Samael just appeared, and he told me who the real enemy is, and if my calculations are right... “You’re sure it’s here?” Bertrand asked Don, as they parked near Elleanore’s house. “Yeah, Bert.” Don Replied. “I followed her up and downtown, and this is the place she always comes back to. So it’s gotta be her house. Let’s just watch and see if we can sense anything strange.” “Right, your call then...” Bertrand agreed, a bit unsure of what would come next. *** Elleanore spent a bit more of her savings to call a few doctors to examine her daughter in her own home, because she found it a bit too much to take her to the hospital for something that she was sure didn’t have to do with Abby’s body. The scans didn’t show a single anomaly in her organism, and the other routine exams also didn’t s

It was hard for Bert and Cam to tell Mathew and Jake that they were basically alone in this now, since Uri disappeared, Don went after her, and Elleanore had resigned herself and Abigail from the fight. It was even worse after Jonah told him what they had to face, despite not even concretely knowing what were their strengths against all odds. They felt as if they were walking in the middle of a crossfire, blindfolded, with their hands tied behind their backs. And while they were at it, researching, looking for gods, searching for more answers, the world kept changing. In the course of the months that followed their first reunion to discuss about the dream, that now seemed to them to have taken place years ago, the world had changed. Weeks went by with earthquakes reshaping whole areas throughout the world, typhoons devastating small towns, crimes happening much more frequently, atop of many more disasters happening all around. And along with that, a new pillar of power was rising

Jonah remembered all about the place as soon as death took a hold of his body, and he wasn’t sure if the domain of Death, his old domain, had always been so bright. It looked as though daylight had been poured over the vastness of the deserted plains, with only the giant maze showing in the centre of everything.Something felt fishy, and even though Jonah felt confident in walking through the land, he also felt as if something was out there, watching him.But when he felt it, his attenti

Just as Jonah had mentioned, the work to build the electric chair took less than three days. That was because finding a water that was pure enough to suit the unicorn boy’s needs was hard enough. But sooner than they expected, the project was completely done.Since Elleanore didn’t want Abby to see the whole experiment taking place, so she strongly recommended him and Cam that they should take the project somewhere else, or else she would, and they wouldn’t like it.After all, she might even be part of that craziness, but she still put her daughter above all else. And Elleanore wouldn’t allow such things near her Abby, not even if her daughter was a goddess or anything of the sorts.Abigail was still Elleanore’s baby, in the end. However, even if Elleanore didn’t want Abby to see what was going to happen next, Elleanore herself went to Bert’s house, along with Cam, Jonah, and Jake, whil
