Chapter 2

Someone had just gotten off the plane. Her long legs slowly descended the stairs. She exhaled a small breath as she looked around. "This city is so small."

Another person waiting for her greeted and politely approached her, bowing halfway respectfully. "Welcome, Miss Violet."

The woman who had just exited the plane glanced up from behind her sunglasses and nodded. She was Violet Ryder. She had wavy blonde hair with white, well-groomed skin. The neatly dressed man in a black suit who greeted her earlier was a waiter named Olson.

Violet took off her sunglasses and put them in a small white tote bag with three pearls on the buttonhole. "So he's been living here all this time?"

Olson nodded respectfully. "That's right, Miss. This place is on the southeast side and quite far from the center, Miss."

Violet and Olson were currently in Mahataran City, a small town on the southeast side. Violet was from Austar, the largest kingdom and city on the eastern continent.

Violet exhaled again at Olson's explanation. She let out a small chuckle. "It's really sad, knowing that I'm here. I didn't expect someone so honorable to be in a small place like this."

Violet walked past Olson first, approaching the black luxury car. Olson immediately opened the door for Violet. Olson followed after storing Violet's suitcase in the trunk of the vehicle.

Violet smiled as she remembered her purpose for coming to this small town. "But I'm looking forward to meeting him soon."

Olson nodded in response to Violet's words from the driver's seat. "You'll see him soon enough, Miss."

According to the information obtained from the bodyguard assigned to track someone's whereabouts, the car drove away from that place to its destination. It took several tens of minutes to get there. Along the way, Violet kept looking out the window. It's not bad, she thought to herself because even though it's a small town, it's not too different from the big city where she used to live. Her gaze couldn't escape every inch of the streets she passed.

Violet's gaze was drawn to a man walking on the sidewalk with light brown hair and light gray eyes. She noticed the man's face, and she remembered it very clearly. Violet couldn't forget the man's face. Her eyes narrowed at the ring on the man's ring finger, which made her even more certain that the man was indeed someone she recognized.

"Yes, there's no mistaking it." The blonde woman shouted after feeling completely convinced. "Stop the car!"

Olson's brow furrowed. He stopped the car immediately. Violet immediately got out just as the car stopped a few meters behind the man. Olson, who was confused, also got out of the car when he saw Violet stop the man's footsteps.

"Wait a minute." With a slight intake of breath and a big smile, Violet looked up at the man with her eyes sparkling. "I'm so pleased to see you again, Prince Aaron."

Aaron gazed intently at Violet's face. His light gray eyes searched Violet's face and spoke after remembering her, "You're Violet."

Violet smiled, nodded happily, then bowed half of her body, followed by Olson, who did the same with her. "That's right, Prince. I'm glad we finally found you. We've been looking all over for you for so long."

Aaron ran away from home when he was 16 years old because he was angry at his father. Aaron thought his father was so cruel and stupid that he caused his mother to experience bad things to the point of losing her life. The anger was so great that he chose to leave, giving up his status as a prince in Austar.

Aaron doesn't care how his life is after leaving there. At that time, Aaron met Mr. Campbell, who then took him to the Campbell family home. Aaron was given a job as a servant there until finally married off by Mr. Campbell to Zara.

Before he left the kingdom of Austar, Aaron took some of his assets with him that he could still manage well from a distance. That's why he was able to help Zara and the Campbell family secretly.

Aaron only responded to Violet's words with a flat face, then smiled slightly, remembering something in the past that they had talked about. "It's been a while since I've seen you, Violet. Are you a powerful woman now?"

Violet smiled slightly at the satirical question from Aaron's mouth, then exhaled. "I became a secretary. To be precise... your secretary."

Aaron was quite surprised to hear that Violet was now his secretary. Olson and Violet had been ordered to search for Aaron's whereabouts, then got the information and rushed to the Mahataran city where Aaron lived. Olson, who was already in town to confirm Aaron's whereabouts, picked Violet up.

Who would have expected them to meet Aaron like this?

Aaron nodded slowly at Olson, then looked back at Violet with a slightly squinted gaze. "I didn't expect you to be my secretary."

Violet smiled with her hands clasped together in front of her stomach. "I see. I hope you'll be back soon, Prince." Violet's eyes were full of hope as her yellow hair waved in the wind. "The only thing that has always impressed me in Austar is you, Prince. And all this time, I felt lost."

Aaron understood Violet's words because Violet had always seemed attached to them since they first met him. So he knew the admiration Violet had for him. Aaron even remembered that when they were teenagers, people in Austar thought they were close friends with a special bond.

Violet looked down in embarrassment as she pushed her windswept hair behind her ear. The wind blowing was quite strong and felt cold, accompanied by the leaves carried away. "You must have gone through a lot by yourself. That's why, now you must return and accept what has been yours all along, Prince."

Aaron fell silent at Violet's words. Her light brown hair fluttered in the cold wind. Raindrops began to fall slowly, carried by the wind. Quickly, the rain became heavier. Olson ran to get an umbrella from the car trunk to shade Aaron.

Olson ran over to Aaron, immediately standing behind, holding the umbrella firmly so it would not sway even a little in the wind. Luckily, his quick movements didn't make Aaron's body even more soaked. Meanwhile, Violet's entire body was already wet. The woman seemed to be hugging her body, looking like she was getting cold.

Aaron watched Violet's tiny lips tremble. With a strong personality and a desire to look perfect, the woman before him would probably survive in the rain like this. But Aaron couldn't possibly let her go on like this. "We'd better get in the car and talk about this somewhere else."

Violet took a breath. This place was inappropriate, and she had made the mistake of speaking like this to a man of honor like Aaron. She was guilty of leaving her Prince out in the rain. Violet looked down regretfully. "Forgive me, Prince. I've been insensitive. Let us enter, Prince."

Violet raised one hand respectfully, allowing Aaron to enter the car. Olson carefully kept his arm around Aaron as he approached the car door, then slowly extended one hand to open the door for Aaron. Olson bowed as Aaron got into the car, then quickly ran into the car after Violet.
