CHAPTER 67

As Landon and I made our way through the facility, I waited for it but it never came.

I opened my mind, ready to feel the cold, dark energy but it never came.

I waited and waited, then waited a lot more but it never came.

"Are you okay?" Landon's voice snapped me back to reality.

"Yeah." I nodded but the look on his face showed that he didn't believe me.

"Just eager to meet Ascher."

"You remember his name?" Landon tilted his head and stared at me like I was something interesting.

I inwardly sighed, glad he didn't ask any more questions I didn't need him to ask.

"You mentioned it more than once already." We make our way past a huge gym with Specials training in it.

They must be training their physical abilities.

"I did." He looked away from me.

We reached a small room.

I wonder what could be behind those small doors.

Maybe it was just an aftermath of my daily routines but I felt big; too big, before the door.
