Chapter 10: Different Factions

Immediately Yetunde and her guards left Davis, they were accosted by the Academy’s Ushers. The Ushers were four in number, with each of them carrying one of Yetunde’s suitcases.

“Thank you” Yetunde politely said with a graceful curtsy.

“You’re welcome Milady” The Ushers simultaneously said, carrying her Luggage’s away.

Seeing this, Yetunde’s guards respectfully bowed before , “Alright Milady, we’ll be on our way!” They simultaneously said.

“Thank you so much!” She replied.

“Milady, be careful and do your best” One of her guards brightly said.

Hearing this, Yetunde couldn’t help but release an extremely cheery chuckle “ I will!” She promptly said.

“Bye!” The Guards said, immediately taking their leave.

Yetunde on the other hand, walked towards the Orientation Hall, where all the newly enrolled students were expected to be at. On her way to the Hall, she spotted other newly enrolled students, all dressed in their matching uniforms.

Arriving at the Hall’s majestic door, Yetunde casually reached out to it’s handles, with the intent to open it. Suddenly her hand crossed paths with another person’s, causing both of them to momentarily pause, staring earnestly at each other. The latter party turned out to be Reynolds Heming, the son of the Principal.

After an awkward moment of stares, Reynolds decided to break the silence, “After you!” He politely said.

“No..No..No, you were clearly here first, that means you should be the one to open it” Yetunde blurted as her face slowly turned red.

“No, you were here first, so you should open it” Reynolds awkwardly said.

“Alright, I’ll open it!” Both of them simultaneously exclaimed.

Immediately they noticed what transpired, both youths erupted in laughter.

“I’m Reynolds” He brightly said, extending his hand for a handshake.

“Yetunde!” She whispered, reciprocating the handshake.

“Wow, you’re the Azure flames girl” He exclaimed in awe.

“And you’re the Dual Mage Guy” She immediately replied.

“I guess I am” He replied, stroking his crimson colored hair.

“Should I?” Reynolds said, pointing at the door.

“Yeah!” Yetunde promptly replied.

Immediately she replied, Reynolds opened the door, revealing the interior. The Hall had a series of ascending seats, which spanned across the entire room.

“Whoa!” Yetunde gasped in awe, staring earnestly at the brilliant décor.

“Awesome, right!” Reynolds said.

“Yeah” She immediately replied.

“Let’s take our seats” Reynolds said, prompting Yetunde to finally enter the Hall.

Majority of the seats were already occupied, making it extremely difficult for Reynold’s and Yetunde to get perfect seats. After some minutes of browsing, they found the right seats, which were positioned at the middle of the room. Taking their seats, Both youth’s stared earnestly at the platform which was in front of the enormous row of seats.

“Hey Reynolds” Yetunde said, grabbing his attention.

“You can call me Rey” Reynolds calmly responded.

“Okay. Hey Rey” Yetunde promptly said.

“Yeah wassup!” Rey answered.

“I’m sorry for bumping into you during the Acceptance Ceremony” She said, burying her face into her palms.

“Oh, that was you. I honestly forgot” Reynolds said, caressing his hair in an awkward manner.

“Well there’s no need to apologize” He added, shocking Yetunde.

“Really!” She curiously inquired.

“Yeah, I can’t stay mad at a beautiful girl like you!” He casually said.

Hearing Rey’s words caused Yetunde to unconsciously shriek, as she sunk into her seat. Noticing this, Reynolds confusedly stared at Yetunde, “What happened?” He curiously inquired.

“N.... Nothing” She awkwardly stuttered while she blushed.

Meanwhile,

At the Platform, was a High table similar to the one used during the Acceptance Ceremony. The Table had eight chairs, which represented the Head Instructors in-charged of the various Faction’s, in the Academy.

Blake who was currently seated, suddenly stood up, earnestly facing the Horde of Students.

“Good Day Students, My name is Blake Armstrong” He said with a British accent.

“Blake Armstrong from The Briton District” He added.

“I’m also the Head Instructor of The Fire Faction” He promptly commented.

Blake was dressed in a white, Long sleeved shirt, with a slim fitted black trouser. He also wore a blue tie and had his sleeves folded. He had spiky black hair with an extremely handsome face which had a pale white color.

“Welcome to The Solaris Arcane Academy, Thirty First Orientation Ceremony” Blake nonchalantly said.

“Beside me are my colleagues, the Head Instructors of various Faction’s” Blake added, staring at the newly enrolled students.

“I’m really gonna mess this up” He thought to himself as he took in a huge gulp.

“This ceremony is meant to imbibe you guys with the right manners, mandatory for all students of this academy.

After this ceremony, you all are expected to know the various rules and regulations of the Academy, such as; No fighting, no loitering after school hours… stuff like that, which you’ll find in the student hand book” Blake said with no enthusiasm.

Hearing Blake’s words, Clark who was seated next to him, couldn’t help but smack his face in disappointment “He’s going to mess this up!” Clark whispered.

“Living that aside, I’m going to be enlightening you all about the various Factions in this Academy.

They are a total of eight Factions, each governed by A Head Instructor. These Factions include; The Fire Faction, Water Faction, Earth Faction, Wind Faction, Lightning Faction, Light Faction, Darkness Faction and The Abstract Faction.

The Academy’s dorms are also divided into eight different sections, occupied by a particular Faction. The Head instructor are also in charged of this Sections.

These Head Instructors include; Clark Armstrong, Head Instructor of the Lightning Faction. Rosa Lia, Head Instructor of the Abstract Faction. Lupercio, Head Instructor of the Darkness Faction. Lucas Graham, the Head Instructor of the Light Faction. Janet Dominic, the Head Instructor of the Wind Faction. Thomas Reed, the Head Instructor of the Earth Faction. Last but not least, Asami Hatsumoto, the Head Instructor of the Water Faction” Blake explained, waving his hand frantically and awkwardly at the Students.

Apart from him, all the other Head Instructors were all dressed up in a Black tuxedo suit, with a white long sleeve shirt, alongside a blue colored neck tie.

“These guys will be responsible for assigning you’re various dorms, handbook and other materials you’ll need, but firstly you’ll have to be registered as a student under your specific Faction.

During your induction test, you all received an identification tag, which is the rune symbol that appeared on your hands.

What you need to do know is head towards the Head Instructor in charged of your Faction and they’ll handle the rest” Blake said, obvious panting for breath.

Almost immediately, the students slowly approached the Instructor’s table, with the intent of getting registered.

“I guess we’ve got to get going” Reynolds said.

“Yeah!” Yetunde replied, promptly exiting her seat, heading towards the Instructor’s Table.

Reynolds followed her lead, as they both calmly walked to the front. On arrival, they were met by a long queue of students, all trying to get registered.

“This is going to take forever!” Reynolds blurted, smacking his face.

Seeing his reaction, Yetunde released a slight chuckle, unconsciously grabbing Rey’s attention. “You’ve got to be more patient” She commented.

“It’s really hard being patient” Rey responded.

“If you say so!” Yetunde brightly replied, erupting into laughter.

“By the way, you’ve got a dual affinity” She promptly added.

“Yeah, what about it?” Rey curiously inquired.

“Does that mean you’ll have to get registered twice?” Yetunde asked, staring earnestly at the confused youth.

“No… I’m not really sure. I’ll ask the Instructors” Rey responded.

 Minutes Later.

“What!” Reynolds awkwardly exclaimed.

“Yes, you’ll have to register under The Lightning and Fire Faction” Blake said.

“Are you serious dude?” Reynolds responded.

“I’m being serious and when I’m at work, don’t call me dude” Blake said, wearing a stoic expression.

“Clark, is he serious?” Rey promptly inquired.

“Yes he is” Clark immediately replied, burying his into his work.

“That means no slacking off for you” Blake mockingly said, laughing hysterically.

“No!” Reynolds worriedly exclaimed.

“I guess you’re dual affinity is a blessing and also a curse” Blake said.

“Yeah right” Reynolds responded wryly.

Meanwhile, as Rey awkwardly exclaimed, Yetunde did nothing but watch from the sidelines. She was already done with her registration and was casually waiting for Reynolds.

“He’s really cute” She thought to herself.

“What the hell are you talking about?

You just met him today.

So what!

He’s so awesome and sweet and funny!

Yetunde stop!

It’s too soon to be thinking about this stuff.

Awwn, but he’s cute!” These random thoughts popped up frequently in her head, causing her to lost touch with reality.

“Yetunde….Yetunde….. Yetunde!” Rey exclaimed, instantly waking her to reality.

“What?” She promptly responded.

“You spaced out” He answered.

“I’m done by the way, thanks for waiting for me” He added with a cheery smile.

“You’re welcome” She commented, as her face slowly turned red.

“Let’s get back to our seats” Rey said.

“Okay” Yetunde said, heading back to her seats.

“Rey!” She called, tapping his shoulder.

“What is it?” Reynolds answered.

“It seems like you’re familiar with both Instructor Blake and Clark” Yetunde said.

“Yeah, I’ve known them since I was born” He replied, nodding his head in affirmation.

“They’re kinda related to my Dad but I don’t know how “ He added immediately.

“So, are they brothers?” She curiously inquired.

“Yup, they’re twins” He immediately answered.

“Whoa, who’s the strongest?” She inquired, reaching for her seat.

“It’s definitely….. Blake!”
