9 IS MY WIFE A SPY?

Ever since Frank was told about what to do before getting his father's properties, he was so confused about how to go about the whole thing.

He pleaded with Mateo to convince him he didn't kill Fernando, but Mateo stood by his words as he was afraid that Frank might harm him if he informed him that he didn't deliver the job.

“ Mateo, please, tell me that Fernando is still alive. I have a serious issue on the ground.” Frank will always plead.

“ I swear by this gun that if Fernando is still alive, I should die instantly.” Mateo will boldly respond to him.

Frank never dared to inform his grandfather that this is what he had done to his elder brother and if there was a way out.

‘ I'd rather lose this wealth than tell this old man about Fernando's death.’ Frank promised himself.

So many thoughts played with his senses, but he couldn't figure out what was best to do.

He almost ran mad as he continued pondering about his action. He looks to his left, but there's no reasonable idea; to his left, nothing reasonable came up.

After wondering and thinking of the best way to handle this serious case, he ended up with the idea of seeking advice from someone older than him.

“ Sir, I have a critical issue on the ground,” Frank said with a bitter tone to the man on the phone.

He was the only person who could save him from this case. But if the man also lacks an idea of what to do, then all hope will be lost for Frank.

It's best to describe the man as his mentor, as Frank always looked forward to his advice anytime he needed one.

Although their relationship wasn't up to a month, Frank could tell that he will benefit a lot if he continued taking more advice from him.

“ An issue?” the man's voice echoed from the phone in an unsettled manner. He seemed shocked and lost. “ No need to talk on the phone. You can come to my house anytime, you know.” the man added.

Frank remained silent with a calm face, but his heart was on fire like hell. The heat on his mind can cook even stones until they get soft.

However, he was shivering as though he was scared if police were coming after him because he had killed his only brother, but no, he feared losing his father's wealth.

With this wealth, he can get whatever he wants and go wherever he wants. No doubt about that. One can get things easy if only his account balance has no limit.

This is the type of life Frank needed. He wasn't ready to share this wealth with anyone. Who knows, if he might murder his grandfather one day?

“ I wish you are at home currently, so I can come over.” he finally replied to the man.

“ Yeah, I'm at home. You can come over if it's urgent.” the man from the phone announced as he nodded his head.

“ I will be there in an hour.”

“ Alright. I will be expecting you. See you soon.” the man replied and hung up the call.

Frank sighed in relief before dropping his phone on the bed. He took a deep breath as he firmly shut his eyes and then exhaled.

“ I'm going to get rid of this.”

He promised himself as he maintained his gaze on the door.

He stood up to shower after thinking for a few minutes as he rubbed his palms against each other with satisfaction that his sleepless nights shall end in the next few hours.

No sooner than he finished making the call, he gestured toward the bathroom, so he could prepare before leaving for this man whom he had promised to meet that morning.

On getting to the walk-in closet, which was just a few inches away from the bathroom door, he stared at his clothes as though he was looking for what to wear. But every time he breathed in, he felt cold and lost.

Indeed, he was so disturbed by his actions.

Frank later came back to his senses and he shuddered and immediately dismissed what seemed like a hindrance to his peace of mind.

He unbuttoned his long sleeve white shirt as he exposed his broad chest and muscle.

He smiled at himself after staring at his body frame which reflected in the mirror which was attached to his wardrobe door.

After being satisfied with the look, he remembered that he had an issue on the ground that needed urgent attention.

Immediately he took off his shirt, he threw it in a basket that was kept for putting dirty clothes so that the dry cleaners won't have to stress themselves by messing with his clothes while checking for the unclean ones.

As he was about to take off his trousers, the room door suddenly opened. With haste, Frank pulled up his trousers as his boxer were already showcasing itself.

“ Hey!” he called out with a fake smile after sighting his wife.

“ Hmph… why do you look so scared or something?” Sophia asked, unsure if her husband was okay.

The look on his face was suspicious and one can easily tell about that because that's not his usual expression, although he always wore a smiling face like a good and responsible person.

“ Me, scared? Not at all,” he retorted and went ahead to take off the trousers, but suddenly pulled them up again.

“ Can you turn around, please?” he playfully pleaded with Sophia, who was stocked with her thought about her husband's strange behavior.

“ For what reason?” she smirked.

“ Come on, just obey a simple instruction and stop asking too many questions,” he smirked with a grin.

All this might look common to him, but to Sophia, she wasn't sure if Frank was fine as he claimed to be.

For crying out loud, who on earth will tell his wife to take her gaze away just because he wants to take off his clothes?

Who does that…?

Sophia shocked her head hesitantly as she threw her hands in the air telling him ‘ whatever' and then climbed the bed and fixed her gaze on her phone.

Frank was a bit satisfied as she obeyed him, even though he knew what he did wasn't right.

However, he couldn't create a reasonable point out of his actions. Maybe his curiosity to take over as the heir and the guilty conscience of his brother's death was affecting his mental health.

Without delaying a second, he undressed and took a pink wide towel tied around his waist, and motioned to the bathroom.

Before the clock could count to fifteen minutes, Frank was done bathing. He came out with the towel still wrapped around his waist, as he had used it to wipe out the water on his body.

“ Huh? Why did you finish this fast?” Sophia was surprised because she always knew Frank who always takes an hour before coming out of the bathroom if he dares to enter.

Her question got him smiling. But the smile was only visible on his face; deep inside his heart, he was frowning because he was tired of answering silly questions from her.

“ Well, I have changed my bathing pattern and I see no reason why you are bothered about that.” he snapped.

“ And don't ask me more questions, unless you want me to get mad at you.” he seriously warned and furrowed his brows at her and Sophia kept dumb without uttering any more words.

He walked up to the walk-in closet and began to dress up, and he could feel how worried Sophia was, but he cared less about her thoughts toward him.

Nevertheless, he could feel her gaze on him as he kept his back to her gaze, although he wasn't sure if she was actually staring at him.

After using twenty minutes to dress up, Frank took his phone and placed a call and inform his bodyguards to come to get his briefcase as he was ready to leave the mansion.

“ Yes, boss,” Mateo's voice echoed from the phone.

“ I want to go out right now!” Frank said with a commanding tone.

“ Okay, boss. I will inform the boys.”

“ Good,” Frank muttered before hanging up the call.

Within minutes, a guard was heard gently knocking at the door.

“ Come in,” Frank permitted as he lowered his gaze to the door.

The guard slowly opened the door like a thief and stepped in. He bowed down and greeted Frank before going ahead to pick the briefcase.

As soon as the guard picked up the case, he rushed out of the room as though he were pulled out by a magnet.

Frank glanced at his wife, who lay down, operating her phone as she faced the wall.

He wanted to say something to her before leaving, but pride ruled over him, and he shook off the thought of doing so.

As he turned to leave the room, her voice echoed, which made him abruptly stop in his tracks in disbelief.

He turned around and said,“ can you repeat what you just said?”

Sophia wanted to ignore him because she was sure that he heard her, but she wanted to play her role as a good wife to him, which resulted in her replying.

“As I said, extend my greetings to my dad,” she responded with a smirk on her face.

Frank took a few steps to the bed position and gazed at her fragile body on the bed.

“ And who told you that I was going to your father's house?” he inquired with a cold voice.

“ I knew about it, no one told me,” she replied boldly as she turned around and stared him in the eye.

Frank nodded suspiciously and thought inwardly,‘ Indeed, she has been eavesdropping on my conversation.’

But how she was able to figure out that it was her father, was what Frank couldn't tell.

He stood speechless as he widened his mouth in shock and disbelief. Frank wasn't expecting to hear that from her.

He sighed and then chuckled.

‘ She's going to be a threat to my life; I hope she isn't a spy, or else, I will have to end her life too before she exposes my secrets…’
