Chapter 2

Elvis paired right into her eyes, his face laced with anger and his hands formed into a quick ball.

He was damn sure that his mother-in-law had invited the pervert into their house for whatever reason that was best known to her.

But he didn't care, even for a single moment.

"Get your hands off her you pervert, that's my wife there and stop giving her filthy names?" Elvis lashed out at him with a thick frown hovering on his face.

But before he could forge ahead to rip them apart, Sonia stopped her with a stale stare on her.

"What do you think that you are trying to do, fool? Get your filthy hands off my boyfriend right this moment." Her words were like the clap of a lightning bolt.

There was a dangling smirk on Dustin's face but that didn't matter to him anymore.

He thought that he had heard wrong. That could only be the possibility there because there was no way Sonia could have said those words.

Even though the rest of the family hated him so much, he was sure that there was no way she could try to hurt him.

"Tell me that I heard wrong, Sonia. He forced you right?" Elvis's voice was laced with pain, trying to hold her in his hands as he always then.

But she quickly butted him upon notice, preventing him from going on with his advances and that ripped his heart apart even more.

But his faith in her declined as a slight chuckle escaped from her lips immediately.

It was like a stab straight through his chest as random thoughts ran through his mind. Finally, she stopped laughing, flinging a stale stare towards his direction.

"Apart from being stricken with the curse of poverty right from hell, I never knew that you were also deaf." She responded, not holding back the stale hate in her voice

A slight gasp escaped from Elvis's mouth as he was taken aback almost immediately, the walls around his world crumbling right before his very eyes.

His eyes were mixed up with a lot of emotions intersecting into each other. He opened his mouth swiftly to speak but words failed him.

Finally, he went ahead to say.

"You are cheating on me Sonia? And you still have the guts to spill it right on my face ?" His voice was washed up with pain and anger.

At first, there was still silence in the hall but this silence was followed by the sudden clap of laughter that re-echoed through the hall.

Sonia parted from Dustin's hands Dustin, walking closer to him until she could feel herself.

"Just take a good look at yourself. You have been a cleaner all your life. Your salary is barely enough to get me a lip gloss.

How long did you think that I was going to put up with this mistake called marriage? Putting up in the category of a dog is going to mean that I am over-rating you." There was a sudden clap of laughter floating throughout the hall.

He looked right into her eyes, to see even the trace of love but all he could see was blazing anger and hatred and he went ahead to say.

"I thought you said you loved me."

"Love? Maybe I was so stupid at first to think that something good was going to come out of you. But merely look at your sorry state now. I can barely say." She responded.

"But that love has melted down to hatred and if there is anything that I want now, it's for you to be out of my life as soon as possible." She replied swiftly.

He sipped in a really deep breath, better than he had ever drawn all his life to reduce the pain that was floating throughout his eyes.

Dustin pulled Sonia over to herself and with so much passion in his eyes.

"You deem it as having a relationship when it was never consummated?" He could not hold back the amusement that was written all over his face, the words stabbing Elvis right in his heart.

"Something that we have done every single day." He added.

Pulling Sonia over to himself, his tongue went into hers as they kissed passionately. Emotions flooded through his vines, flooded with the massive release of adrenaline into his bloodstream.

He advanced swiftly towards them, wanting to pull them apart but before he could do this, the men that had been standing right behind the stranger came forward towards him, forcing him down to his knees.

Elvis tried to break free, unable to bear torture anymore as his eyes flooded with pain and everyone laughed at him.

Finally, they were done, but the guards would not pull their hands away from him even for a single moment.

He paired right into Sophia's eyes and went ahead to say.

"I had made the mistake Sonia of falling in love with someone who was going to betray me.”

She Ignored his words firmly, pleased by his suffering as she continued to stare without spitting out even a single word from her mouth.

Soon, he heard a swift voice from behind that struck him like the clap of a lightning bolt.

"And soon, I will be the second wealthiest man all thanks to you." There was a smirk on the face of Dustin as he spoke.

But the words only got him even more confused than he was already, ripping his heart into shreds.

“I think that she should break the news to you herself.” Dustin added with the smirk still on his face.

Even without anyone calling her into it, Sonia stepped forward to appreciate him.

"And yes. I have to thank you for laying the project management problem around. At least, that's the greatest thing that you have ever done."

His brain placed two and two together almost immediately and it was shocked by the realization of what lay before him.

Just last night, she had allowed him to give him a kiss for the first time since they got married.

He was shocked to his bones but never did he think that his joy was going to be the beginning of his downfall. And the kiss was only one of betrayal.

His pain soon mixed up with anger and frustration as he lashed out.

"So you were the mastermind behind everyone Seeing me as a traitor?" His voice was lashed with pain and anger.

But she was not moved by his angry demeanor even for a single moment as she went ahead to see.

"Too bad you just realized."

A slight chuckle escaped from Elvis's mouth as he bit his lower lips.

“Does the love that we share mean nothing to you? Did you have to throw away our matrimonial vows under the rug?"

"I already got that covered and soon that won't be a burden on me anymore.” She responded with a glare.

Walking off from the place, she walked into the room and returned a few minutes later with a divorce agreement in his hands.

"Here." She said nonchalantly.

"It does mean a lot to me if I don't essentially want to rot in the disgrace of being poor just like you." She responded swiftly.

He let out a sudden chuckle and his face skimmed through the first headlines of the papers that lay before him.

A divorce agreement with her signature already on it, showing how badly she wanted him out of her life already.

"There. Sign it already and leave." She said with a frown on her face.

His eyes paired through the room and his gaze finally fell on the stranger that was standing from afar.

All his life, he had never imagined that there was ever going to be a day like this, where he was going to lose two things at the same time and be left with absolutely nothing.

"He knew that there was certainly no essence holding on to someone that didn't love him.

Staring at the documents for a while, he turned around towards Sonia and expressed his heart of pain.

"You are certainly going to regret this." He said softly.

But his words seemed to create a sudden roar throughout the hall as everyone burst out swiftly into laughter.

"And how are you going to make that happen? Rub off your poverty on me?" She laughed even harder at his stupidity.

"What are you feeling like? A hidden billionaire?" The stranger laughed even harder.

"This is certainly the dumbest thing that I have heard in a while." He laughed.

Without spitting out another word from his mouth, Elvis Forged ahead towards the documents that were before him, singing it swiftly and handing it over to him.
