“How dare this man slap the Matriarch of the Odias, twice?”

“Isn't he their trash son-in-law?”

“He's going to be in so much trouble!”

“Ha! I guess the rich aren't so strong, he couldn't even lay a finger on that stray dog.”

The conversations from the onlookers continue.

Adam stood over them, calm and unmoved. “You two need to learn something. You don’t threaten me.”

Robin lay on the pavement, writhing in pain. Monica crouched beside him, both of them too stunned to say anything more.

“I'll make you regret this, Adam. I swear with my life!” Robin roared.

Adam adjusted his coat and gave them a last, dismissive glance. “Next time, don’t bite off more than you can chew.”

Without another word, he turned and walked away, leaving them in the dust, broken and humiliated under the weight of their own arrogance.
