The Destroyer cracked his neck, a predatory grin spreading across his scarred face. "You must be the idiot everyone’s talking about."

Adam didn’t flinch, his eyes steady and unwavering. "And you must be the circus act they sent to entertain me."

A ripple of shock went through the crowd, Robin letting out a nervous chuckle. "He’s insane."

Monica’s jaw dropped. "Does he have a death wish?"

The Destroyer’s grin vanished, replaced by a hard scowl. "You think you’re funny?"

Adam’s smile never wavered. "I know I am."

Norman hissed from the side, "You’re a dead man, Adam. You just don’t know it yet."

Adam leaned back and stretched his arms, completely at ease. "That’s the thing about you amateurs. Always in a rush to make threats."

The Destroyer’s fists clenched, his knuckles cracking ominously. "You’ve got guts, I’ll give you that. Too bad they’ll be all over the floor soon."

Adam raised his glass in mock toast. "Good luck with that."
