“Adam, where are you going?” Tessa asked, her voice tinged with worry as she rushed to his side.

Adam turned his head slightly, a faint smile playing on his lips. It was rare to see Tessa show such concern for him, and though the moment was fleeting, he found it endearing. “Don’t worry, Tessa,” he said, his voice calm but firm. “I’ll be fine. Nothing’s going to happen. No one can harm me.”

“But what if—”

He raised a hand to cut her off gently. “Arin is a friend,” he assured her. “Trust me on this.”

Tessa frowned, her arms crossing defensively. She wasn’t convinced. A General showing up unannounced, causing such a stir, and then requesting Adam specifically? It didn’t sit right with her.

Stacey stepped forward to assist, placing her hands on the wheelchair handles. “I’ll make sure he’s safe, Mrs. Tessa,” Stacey said reassuringly.

Without waiting for another word, Adam allowed Stacey to wheel him toward the convoy waiting outside. The line of black SUVs stretched down the street, t

The Armands family mansion was eerily quiet, the remnants of the extravagant birthday party lingering in the air. Despite the silence, tension brewed like a storm. Gerald slammed his hand on the dining table, his face red with fury. “That good-for-nothing man!” he roared. “He seems to bring bad luck wherever he goes. He ruined my birthday!” Brenda, standing near the fireplace, crossed her arms and chimed in, her tone sharp. “And it’s all Tessa’s fault. If she’d just divorced him like we told her, none of this would be happening. We wouldn’t have to endure the embarrassment he keeps bringing to this family.” Tessa, sitting on the far side of the room, clenched her fists. She had been silent through most of the evening, but she couldn’t hold back any longer. “This has nothing to do with Adam,” she said firmly, her voice steady. “It’s not his fault for defending himself when you all constantly try to belittle him.” Brenda spun around, her eyes blazing. “How dare you talk back to me?”

Meanwhile at a secluded office, Adam, Arin and Stacey were spotted. Arin leaned over a wooden desk, a tablet in his hand, displaying footage that made even Adam’s seasoned demeanor falter. Stacey stood by the window, her arms crossed, watching Adam with concern as he processed the gravity of the situation. The footage on the screen was harrowing—masked figures storming the presidential villa, chaos erupting as explosions lit up the night. Bodies of fallen special forces littered the ground. The insignia of the Cross-blood organization was unmistakable, splashed in blood-red across the screen. “They’re not just back,” Arin said, his voice steady but grim. “They’re stronger, more organized, and deadlier than ever before. We’ve lost too many men already.” Adam sat silently, his fingers steepled under his chin, his mind a whirlwind of conflicting thoughts. He had planned to focus on finding the last amulet, to finally bring peace to himself and Tessa. After that, he wanted nothing more

Back at the Armands mansion, tension hung in the air like a storm about to break. Tessa sat quietly in the grand living room, her face pale but resolute. Around her, the voices of her family swirled like an angry tide, each one cutting deeper than the last. She had started to think if this was really her family, not even her own parents supported her.“This has gone on long enough, Tessa!” Eleanor, her mother, snapped, slamming her hand on the armrest of her chair. “You need to divorce that man. He’s brought nothing but shame to this family!”Her father, Richard, nodded in agreement, his face stern. “Your mother’s right. Do you even realize the damage Adam has done? He’s tarnishing our reputation. You think we’ll stand for this?”Tessa clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms. “Adam hasn’t done anything wrong,” she said firmly. “He’s only defended himself because all of you refuse to respect him. Adam had saved me multiple times don’t you guys always see the good side of h

The tension in the room was palpable as Adam rolled into the living room, his expression dark and commanding.“Adam?” Tessa whispered, her voice filled with worry. She wasn’t concerned for him but for Brian. She knew Adam’s temper too well. He wasn’t going to let this slide. She'd witnessed how ruthless he gets when someone tries to mess with her.Brian, however, showed no sign of remorse. He crossed his arms, glaring at Adam with disdain. “What are you going to do, cripple?” he sneered.Adam’s voice was calm, but the threat in it was unmistakable. “Touch my woman again, and you’ll regret it.”Brian scoffed, puffing out his chest. “You think I’m scared of you? If you speak to me again, I’ll hit you too. I can do whatever I want and you can't do anything about it. you're just a cripple.”From the corner, Wendy chimed in, her tone filled with malice. “You’re pathetic, Adam. A useless man who doesn’t even belong here. Why don’t you just leave and save us all the trouble?”Adam’s jaw tigh

Adam’s fists remained clenched, his body tense as if he were holding himself back from delivering another blow. The room was silent except for Brian’s pained groans. He managed to sit up, wiping blood from his lip with a shaky hand. Despite his beaten state, the hatred in his eyes burned brightly. “This isn’t over,” Brian hissed, his voice a mix of pain and rage. “You think you can just humiliate me? My family—” Adam’s wheelchair rolled forward with an ominous creak. In one swift motion, he grabbed Brian by the collar and yanked him closer. Brian’s eyes widened, fear flickering across his face as he realized just how serious Adam was. “You really don’t know when to shut up, do you?” Adam’s voice was low and menacing. Without waiting for a response, he delivered a brutal punch to Brian’s face, sending him sprawling back onto the cold floor. “Adam, stop!” Tessa’s voice broke through the tension, her hands clutching his shoulders. “Please, you’ve done enough.” Adam’s chest heaved as

The next morning, the mansion buzzed with activity. Guests had already begun gathering in the grand hall, their chatter filling the air with excitement. Adam and Tessa descended the staircase together, their steps in sync. Adam glanced around, his brows furrowing slightly. “A second party?” he muttered under his breath, clearly unprepared for the spectacle. Tessa looked up at him, noticing his discomfort. “I didn’t know either,” she whispered. Adam nodded, his mind preoccupied. He had planned to leave early for his mission and was determined to inform Tessa before his departure. But as he scanned the room, filled with family members and strangers alike, he realized the timing wasn’t right. If he left now, Tessa would be vulnerable to the family’s usual torment. His thoughts were interrupted as Stacey Gold entered the hall, her presence commanding attention. She strutted in confidently, her high heels clicking against the marble floor. Adam’s eyes narrowed, but he said nothing,

The room grew quieter as someone exclaimed, “It’s Samuel Wade!” Heads turned toward the man now standing confidently in the center of attention. “Oh, so it’s Samuel!” a woman whispered excitedly. “He used to be the Prince Charming of Storm City. All the young ladies adored him.” “That’s right,” another guest chimed in. “I even heard Ms. Tessa was smitten with him back then. If his family hadn’t moved, it’s likely he would be the one standing beside her now.” The whispers grew louder despite attempts to keep them discreet. Unfortunately, Adam’s sharp ears caught every word, and a pang of unease settled in his chest. Samuel strode toward Tessa with a magnetic smile, his arms outstretched as if to embrace her. The audacity of the move made Adam’s fists clench, his knuckles whitening. Fury flickered in his eyes as he held back the urge to intervene. He’s really going to hug my wife in front of me? Adam thought, his patience thinning. But before Adam could act, Tessa took a deliberat

“You don’t have to explain anything to me, Samuel,” Tessa said firmly, her voice steady despite the tension in the room. “I won’t be divorcing Adam. It’s impossible for us to be together, so please don’t contact me ever again.” Her rejection was so resolute that a collective gasp rippled through the crowd. Whispers of disbelief filled the air, each comment more incredulous than the last. Samuel’s confident smirk faltered momentarily, but before he could respond, Gerald stepped forward with an authoritative glare aimed at Tessa. “Tessa, don’t be so stubborn,” Gerald scolded. “Mr. Samuel is an impressive man, far better than that piece of trash you call a husband. He loves you deeply, and you shouldn’t take that for granted. After this event, you need to get a divorce immediately.” Eleanor, ever eager to add fuel to the fire, chimed in, “Your grandfather is absolutely right. Once the divorce is finalized, we’ll set a date for your engagement to Mr. Samuel.” Tessa’s frustration boile
