Chapter Eighty-Eight

Richester washed his hands in the sink, breathing heavily.

“That gave me a fright.” He mumbled to himself as he took off his nose mask.

“That was a good one.” Stanley nodded, hitting his arm softly. “But - -” They stopped walking and faced each other. “What happened back there?” Stanley’s question came unexpectedly, and he cleared his throat nervously.

“About that.” He batted his lashes as they started walking again. “She started showing signs of convulsion; luckily, I tended to it faster.” He smiled briefly; he knew the state he was in when the incident happened.

He thought it was an unwarranted cardiac arrest, which would have made his treatment nothing but useless.

“That’s great; at least some of the patients are now satisfied.” Stanley agreed while nodding as they strolled into the hallway.

He knew that was the only way to gain the public's favor again, and doing these little treatments and surgeries could boost his popularity again.
