Chapter One Hundred & Ninty-Two

Melanie opened her eyes and shut them quickly at the intensity of light that entered her orbs. She felt limb and sour but opened her eyes again after she felt the presence of someone holding her hand, she knew the touch of the person that held her and at the thought of it, she turned her head to see a worried Jamal.

His head was partially resting on her hand and he sounded like he was praying. His gesture warmed her heart and she felt a ting of tears that formed at the side of her eyes.

She didn't know how long she was gone but she knew it was a long time.

“Melanie,” Jamal muttered.

He could not utter any other thing but he felt relief wash over him at the sight of an alive and awake Melanie.

“You're awake!” Jamal exclaimed happily.

He released the breath he didn't know he was holding. Standing up, he smiled and hurriedly sent for Doctor Rochester.
