Chapter Two Hundred & Fifty-Eight

The woman was on the floor begging him to help her with the money for hospital bills. He looked at her and saw the tears that were flowing down her face. He wanted to mind his business and go his way but the woman dragged his legs back.

“ Help me please, I have no one else to turn to,” he jerked his legs to get a grip.

He walked to where Reuben was standing.

“ If I do as you please, you do as I please,"

“ I agree,”

Reuben sat on his bed, and the tears he had been holding in came out. He sat on the ground and began to cry. He had not seen his mother for so many years. The agreement between his mother and Sam Anderson was to be for just two years but Sam breached the agreement because he was more powerful as he had the upper hand. There was nothing he could do to get out of Sam's grip, he had to stay there, making promises to his mother that he would one day return.
