Jamal was getting ready for work. Melanie was still in bed but then she woke up. He usually left the house sometimes when she was still asleep.

She woke up and smiled at him. He gave a reassuring smile. He dressed and got his bag. He went to the dresser to take his wristwatch when he saw the bracelet. He admired it. He had wanted to ask her how she got them but he thought she might have been the one that got them for herself.

He went to her and kissed her on her forehead. She smiled and kissed him on the cheeks.

He left the house for his office.

He got to the office and saw some people already waiting for him. He felt it was too early for anyone to be waiting for him. He felt uneasy at first. Then he got to his office and saw that it was the guys he had told to keep an eye on his stepfamily house that had come to the office. He wondered if anything was wrong as they came way too early.
