Three months in jail.

Chapter 7

Edwin took out a golden bank card from his purse, with the word ‘Emily’ written in black on the background. He held it low in his hands.

“Young master, this is a special card made by our Portland conglomerate. All expenses under the conglomerate are free. There’s also a credit limit of 1 billion dollars and the password is your birthday.”

“Please use it first.”

Andre hesitated a bit before taking the card.

“What about my mother?” Andre asked.

“Madam is fine and hoping to see you face to face someday,” Edwin answered as he lowered his head.

There was a short silence before Andre finally spoke.

“Tell my mother not to worry about me. Tell her to fix a convenient day for us to eat within the range of next week.”

“Yes, yes master,” Edwin replied as he watched Andre walk away, then stopped a taxi.

Edwin knew his madam would rejoice greatly upon hearing his son's request.

~~~
Getting in the taxi, Andre breathed a sigh of relief.
17 years of hardship of hardship had passed and it was time to make a change.
First, he needed to fix his appearance and get some clothes.
He apprised the taxi driver of his intended location
and he was driven there.
Arriving at a clothing store, Andre stood confidently watching his reflection from the glass door, his eyes shielding some thoughts.
He sauntered with a bright smile crawling on his oval face.
The sales attendant rushed over to his side with a smiles on her face. “You’re welcome to Fenti stores.”
“This way sir.” She gestured.
Sophia! Andre read from the tag on the sales attendant chest.
“Sir, what would you like to get from us?”
“Clothes and shoes!” Andre chimed.
Andre walked gently after the lady, answering her questions.
“What brands, sir?”
“Louis, Armani, Gucci, Adidas, yes, and any expensive brand.”
The lady nodded and led Andre to a section where expensive brands were displayed.
Andre took his time to select the clothes of his choice, before walking out of the section. He bumped into Yvonne and Willow Smith on his way to the payment section.
“Look who we have here,” Yvonne let out a taunting cry. “A pathetic ex-husband.”
Andre ignored her, finding his way out of her sight when he was roughly pushed back. She tried to demean him but the words hitched in her throat after meeting Andre’s pair of glaring eyes.
She changed her words. “What are you doing here? Are you stalking me?” She rolled her eyes on him.
Andre ignored her as if she were a non-existent variable and strolled away.
Yvonne didn’t stop at that as she chased him down to the cashier's desk.
“Oh, you saw the spree online that I was goin' to shop my wedding dress, and you rushed down here to stalk me?”
Yvonne became irritated and pissed when Andre ignored her. How dare a mere scumbag like him ignored her?
“Yvonne, you should leave that good-for-nothing boy, and let go on our shopping spree.” Smith urged but was waved off by Yvonne.
Yvonne's mouth even dropped open when she beheld a golden violet card in Andre’s grasp. She grabbed it fiercely and stared at it in bewilderment.
“Where did you steal this from?” She questioned with a wary glance.
Andre stared at her in silence, and said, “Give that to me.”
“No, you have to tell me where you stole this from!” Yvonne fired, her eyes scrutinizing the information on the card.
‘Emily Lan-Spen…’ she read out with her furrowed brow.
Emily? Why would Andre possess a golden card that wasn’t his? Was this given to him by his sugar mummy?
“Just two days after our divorce and you’re already working as a gigolo for a wealthy woman, or should I say you stole it?”
“Give that to me! Do not invite problems with your hands.” Andre caveated in a stern tone as he glared at her.
“I’m not giving it to you!” She yelled. “Attention, please!”
Yvonne drew the attention of the security, bystanders, the sales attendant, and the cashier to their ongoing saga.
“I think someone might implicate you if he pays with this stolen card!” Yvonne raised the card above her head.
And everyone gasped at the sight of the card. The golden card was a rare card given to only billionaires who were worth more than 800 billion dollars and with a lot of billion assets to their names.
Andre was cast a judgmental look, his outfits being taken into consideration.
Nah!
They shook their head, he wasn’t worth a diamond card talk more a golden one. He must’ve stolen it.
“Yes! The cops should be called ASAP!”
“How could such a man acquire such a huge asset in his hand?”
They cursed hard at Andre.
“How do you know I’m not the owner of the card?” Andre inquired with bloodshot eyes and a deep tone,
“Well, who wouldn’t know? Even the blind would testify to this.” Yvonne said, pointing to the ‘Emily’ which was written in black on the background of the card.
“Who did you steal this from? Who’s the owner?” Yvonne ignored Andre's pair of glaring eyes, further engaging him in a prolonged talk which prompted Andre to grab the card from her grasp aggressively.
“He should be arrested! He must’ve stolen the card!” Yvonne cried out.
“If care is not taken with the way you are screaming, I think you might develop a goiter.” Andre mocked.
“Madam, you should take it easy. How about, he inserts the card in the point of sale, and Input the correct password? If he gets it right, he will be refer to the Economic Financial Crime Commission, and if he doesn’t get the password correctly, he will be arrested and arraigned for court over theft.” A man in a swanky suit suggested from the crowd.
“Agreed?” The man added to his words.
“No, I think this is a besmirch of character, if I got it right, she’s going to jail. Three months in jail won’t be too much, right?” Andre grinned as he fixed his face on Yvonne.
