Chapter 5: Job Offer

“And by the way, I'm surprised to see that they allow species like you in here, tell me, what brings someone like you to the exquisite A and U mall? Mike asked, feigning interest

“ It's none of your business.” Andrew said coldly, turning his back to take his leave.

But the next words that fell off Mike's lips, had him pausing in his tracks as he turned to face him.

“ My wedding with Lily will be happening a day after the banquet ” Mike smirked at Andrew.

“ That's nice,” Andrew paused, before continuing.

“But, hope you are aware that you could get tossed aside like a rag before your wedding day? ”

Andrew said nonchalantly, staring hard at the man whose countenance turned cold,his face flushing with embarrassment.

Mike managed to force out a fake laugh, but his insides were burning with rage, “ And who told you that!?” He asked, his face morphing into a deeper frown

“Who knows? Lily might change her mind about the wedding after seeing the chairman of A and U. You know, we can't tell” Andrew crooked his eyebrows, his lips curling into a smirk.

“I think this is goodbye” Andrew said smugly , turning his back on the man who stood frozen at a spot and short of words.

“Wait! I'd like to make you a life changing offer”Mike's voice rang out.

Andrew had had enough and his patience was already running thin,so he decided to continue walking and not look back.

But, Mike was not done yet, “ Hey are you deaf ? I just told you that I have a life changing offer for you” he said, marching towards Andrew and hitting him on the shoulder the moment he got close enough.

“Touch me one more time” Andrew warned through gritted teeth, causing Mike to stumble back involuntarily.

“ I'm about to make you an offer that would change your life, and I expect you to beg for it, but nevertheless, I will forgive your manners” Mike boasted, adjusting his collar

“ As you know, my wife and I would be the special guests at the A and U ball happening in three days and we would be signing our big collaboration with the chairman present at the ball ”

“And I need you to come with 10 of your wretched friends. My influential friends will be attending the ball, and would need some errand boys to their beck and call”

“Don't worry about the pay, you will get more than you have ever gotten In your entire life, a whopping sum of $100 dollars to your name after the ball” Mike said, bursting into a loud guffaw

“You should be on your knees thanking me”

“ If you do well on that day, I might speak to the CEO on your behalf to hire you as a janitor in A and U”

“Do you know what that means?”

Andrew sneered and glanced at him as if he was looking at a fool.

Hire him as a janitor in A and U?

That was hilarious.

He really looked forward to seeing his funny face on that day.

“ Sure, I will attend the ball”Andrew nodded, turning his back, he began to walk away.

“You couldn't even say thank you, you scumbag” Mike called out, a smug smile playing on his lips as he thought of the embarrassment he was going to make Andrew pass through on that day.

“I know you wouldn't want to miss such an opportunity, appear neatly and try to smell nice so you don't disgrace me in front of my friends, understood?” He yelled, making sure Andrew heard it before he stepped out of the mall.

Feeling satisfied with himself, he strolled into the mall to purchase his suits for his big day.

He was here to get the makrin rare collection suit for the collaboration with A and U.

His father had finally reached the cooperation with A and U group after offering a 50% profit concession for the project to the CEO.

If he can win the chairman's favor at the banquet and bring more profit to the company, his father might hand over the company to him sooner.

Think of that, he was even more proud.

Meanwhile, somewhere in ceal villa city.

A woman was seen bawling her eyes out and In the same room with her, were about 10 vicious looking men, each taunting and flashing their shiny weapons at her.

“I gave you three weeks to pay back, and today is the last day, I'm here for my money” a voice roared as the woman trembled, tears streaming down her face.

“Please sir, I plead that you give me some more time, I promise, I will pay back before next next week”

The shivering woman said, but In reality she didn't know how she was going to get the $600k she was owing.

“That's bullshit! Total crap!

“It's either you give me the money now, or you face the consequences!”

“Aaah, please sir, I beg of you, give me just one week, I promise I will get the money” She lied again, knowing fully well that there was no where she was going to get that huge sum from.

“Shut up! You and I know there is no way in hell you will pay me back my $600k in one week, are you taking me for a joke?! The man yelled

“No sir, I'm not, I will never do that, please” the young woman who went by the name Benita Harlow, dropped to her knees, her eyes deep red from the crying she had been doing for the past 10 minutes.
