I stopped by a store to buy a weapon for me. While looking for a weapon a sword thrown at the corner attracts me.
"I wonder how much it costs for the sword at the corner. The sword with a white hilt which is a bit rusty."
"That's an old, rusty blade; you're not expecting to find any quality steel here. Besides, there is no way this sword could cut anything, let alone even scratch something like a monster!" exclaimed the shopkeeper as he turned away from his counter with disgust.
"Hold on now, young man! Don't throw that thing out! It could still be useful in some odd ways!"
The man approaches me excitedly, holding a small book and pointing to it. He opens the cover and shows the pages inside. There are mostly sketches of strange creatures drawn by someone who has seen them firsthand. But one sketch catches my eye immediately. A monster with large claws and fangs. The picture was drawn hastily, but I can see that whoever drew this knew exactly what the creature looked like.
"This is a very valuable drawing," the man said enthusiastically, "and I know that you probably don't want it, but it might come in handy, somehow... Let you have it if you plan on leaving town!"
I look around the room again, wondering where else I could go to get information about the monsters.
I didn't know much about these creatures, but one thing is sure: they were dangerous and deadly.
When I asked the storekeeper for the sword he said I could have it for free. I grab the weapon. As soon as I touch it, my right arm begins to glow with golden light.
I look at him confused, and then I turn back to the counter, pick up the sword and notice that it's heavier than what I thought
The sword vanishes and turns into a tattoo on my right arm. I look at myself in the mirror and see that the tattoo has a dragon design. There is something so beautiful about the tattoo that I cannot stop staring at it. It feels like the tattoo is glowing. Furthermore, I bought a mask that alters the viewer's perception.
I left the shop after purchasing the products and headed to the portal that led to heaven.
In the portal, there are a lot of people waiting for tickets to use the portal. After five hours I finally got my hand on a ticket. I moved ahead and gave the ticket to the ticket collector and the ticket collector moved me near the portal.
“The portal is overloaded and not working properly so you will get teleported to a random place near the city.” The ticket collector said.
I nod my head and walk to the portal. As soon as I walked past the portal I arrived at the forest near the capital of heaven.
As soon as I arrived, someone stabbed me in the back. As I turned back, I saw a group of armed bandits standing beside me.
As the bandit stabbed me from behind, I pushed him away.
After stepping back a few steps, I drew my sword. Even though I didn't attend the magic classes in academy due to a lack of magic, my physical abilities were the best in the class.
The bandits attacked me at the same time from all directions.
I swing my sword wildly against the bandits, but I can't land any blows on them because they are just too fast and agile for me to fight effectively. I barely manage to deflect one of their blades with my own sword, which cuts into my stomach. I stagger backward, gasping in pain.
One of the bandits pointed his crossbow at me. "Don't move," he warns.
"Who's there?" asks another bandit, standing behind him. He looks like a brawny brute that has probably been spending all day swinging a large, heavy club around.
The other bandit shakes his head. "No one here is supposed to be." He steps forward menacingly toward me.
I hold up my hands defensively. "Easy now..." I take a few hesitant steps away from the bandits. "What do we want? Gold!" I shout defiantly.
Two of the bandits laughed aloud in amusement. One of them points his crossbow at me. "There's no gold here," he says.
He fires his crossbow. But before the bolt can strike me, another bandit leaps between me and the bolt. He blocks the arrow with his shield and then stabs the bandit holding the crossbow in the chest, killing him instantly.
Another bandit rushes forward, trying to attack the dead body of the crossbowman. The bandit next to me swings at the bandit wielding the crossbow, knocking it out of his hand.
I charge forward, drawing my sword.
"Stop!" shouts one of the bandits.
Before I can reach them, another bandit tackles the body-guard.
The remaining three bandits turn their attention to me, preparing to attack.
I slash at the nearest bandit, slicing open his forearm. A quick kick knocks me back into the arms of the bandit who tackled me earlier, knocking him down onto his back.
A bandit grabs my ankle, pulling me off balance. Another bandit swings his club at me, cutting through my shoulder. My sword clatters to the ground beside me.
My head is spinning. I stumble backward, clutching at my wounded arm. The two bandits attacking me are gaining an advantage over me; I have lost my sword and my only means of defense is my bare fists.
I slip to the ground, landing awkwardly on my injured shoulder. As I fall, I lose my grip on my sword.
The bandits surround me.
"Hurry up and finish him," says one of the bandits. He reaches down to grab my hair, lifting my head so that he can aim his crossbow at my face.
I catch sight of a dagger lying on the floor nearby.
I reach for the dagger, but another bandit swipes at me with his sword, knocking the blade out of my grasp.
"Don't waste your time," says another bandit.
This bandit pounces on top of me, pinning me to the ground beneath his weight. "Nowhere to run," he laughed, pressing the crossbow against my forehead.
The other bandits laughed aloud in amusement, watching as I struggled helplessly beneath their combined weight.
I try to wriggle free, but the bandits are just too strong. I begin to panic.
The magic in my body overflows and the bandits above me are burned down by the magic healing my injuries.
The bandit holding the crossbow lowers it slightly, aiming it at my neck instead.
The bandit pulls the trigger.
I feel something sharp prick the base of my skull. I hear a dull click, followed by a soft popping sound. I look up to find that the bandit who shot me has suddenly fallen dead.
His body twitches once or twice, and then lies motionless.
I stand up. Only one bandit remains: the one who was sitting behind him.
"Are you okay?" he asks.
I nod, rubbing my head where the crossbowman had aimed the weapon. "Thanks."
"We'll get the reward," he says. "You go ahead and rest."
I don't know what to say.
I left the place after chatting with the banditAs the knight of the Royal Palace, he had to disguise himself as a bandit as a result of a secret mission.t. And if there is any help needed I can visit the Royal Knight. He said his name was Ridire.
I reach the edge of the city, eager to leave this cursed forest behind me. After a while of walking, I entered the Royal Capital, after a long fight I decide to stop somewhere for the night.I enter the inn. "Hello," says the innkeeper. "Can I help you?""Yes, please," I reply politely. "I'd like a room.""Certainly. Follow me."The innkeeper leads me to a small, windowless room at the back of the building. There are no windows, no doors, just a single bed and a small washstand."It's not much, but it should suffice," says the innkeeper."I'm sorry, sir," he apologizes. "But we have no other rooms available."You sigh heavily. "That's alright then," you say."Thank you," he replies.Due to the brawl with the bandits and the long journey I am feeling very much tired. Without questioning I went to sleep.I woke up early in the morning. After getting a bath, I got out of the inn and walked towards the library. On my way to the library I felt someone calling me “Regal”I looked left and s
I follow him into combat range where the two of us square off against each other. As soon as the first blows start flying, I realize that I have made a mistake: this knight is much better than any of the ones who are training here on the training ground. My sword clanks against his shield repeatedly, but the bigger man keeps swinging at me with increasing ferocity. After several more swings, I am forced to retreat back toward the camp. His next blow nearly hits me in the head and knocks me backwards. I stumble away from him and find myself falling down onto the grassy hillside. The wind is knocked out of me and I can feel blood pouring down my leg.I reach back to touch the wound and notice that the knight has finally stopped striking at me."Are you okay, boy?" he asks. "Didn't know if you could handle a real fight.""I think you are right," I say. "Now would you please let me go?"He laughed. "Oh no! Not until our match is over."I sit up and lean against the tree behind me. There's
As soon as the four heavenly angels entered the room they hugged me tightly. “You look just like your mother.” Says one of the heavenly Angels.“Yes, the magical power you contain is as strong as your mother.” Says another.“Where were you till now? Why didn’t you come before? Where is your mother?” says another one.“We are your mother’s elder brothers.” Says another one.I was confused by the sudden questioning of the heavenly angels. The Divine King was the eldest sibling.“He came after the long time because he didn’t know the identity of his real parents. Even when he was here just before he didn’t know his mother’s identity.”“He says that Diosa left him at the door of an old farmer couple. Since then her whereabouts are unknown. She left him with the pair of pendants we gave her.”The four heavenly angels were weeping as they hear what the Divine Kings said. After that we chatted for some time and the four heavenly angels left. The four heavenly kings were kind and told me eve
I thanked the doctor and left. I head back to the castle.I went to meet with the Divine King “I will stay in the castle for some time. Please, help me train the holy magic. I will leave for the Demon Realm after I am strong enough to defend myself.”“The heavenly angels will train you from tomorrow, go and rest for today.”The king assigned a maid to me and she showed me the way to my room. After entering my room I jumped on the bed and fell asleep instantly. At night the maid woke me up. “The king is ordering for your presence in the dining room.”I dressed up and went to the dining room. I chatted with the king and after dining I went to my room and fell asleep again.Early in the morning the maid woke me up for training. The heavenly kings were waiting for me in the training hall. The training started and I was in heaven for 2 years. After the long training my control over the holy magic was strong enough for me to defend myself.I went to meet with the king. “After training for t
A demonic beast attacks me from behind. I reacted quickly and summoned my sword. It has red eyes that glow in the dark and its body is covered with scales and fangs that can rip my flesh off in one bite.It has razor sharp tusks that can easily puncture skin, but it doesn't have the strength to kill an adult human being with them alone. Its teeth are strong enough to rip through thick metal armor and its claws are capable of piercing flesh. The blade of my sword slices into the demonic beast's flesh. I slash a second time. My sword cleaves deep into the demonic beast's chest.Blood spurts from the wound, splashing onto its body. The creature roars in pain but doesn't seem to notice that it is dying. It lashes out with one of its claws, tearing another huge chunk out of my leg. The pain sends a jolt through me and I stumble backwards. Its third claw now rakes against my back, cutting deeper into my flesh. I feel a terrible burning sensation as hot blood gushes down my leg.The beast
The statue begins to speak.“I am the King of this place. For what reason have you come here?”“Your highness I have come to ask permission for entering the library, for that your permission is needed.”“You can visit the library tomorrow, enjoy your day today.”“Thank you your highness”I turn around and leave the castle.A colosseum little far away piqued my interest. The Colosseum had a circular arena surrounded by tiers of seating for spectators. The center of the arena contained an open space where gladiators fought each other to the death. A large bronze statue stands in the middle of the arena, depicting the god Mars himself. To the north and south lie the entrance ways into the Colosseum proper, which leads to the north and south entrances. There are four doors leading out of the Colosseum; you can choose any one..A pair of hellhounds stand in combat with a muscular man wearing only a loincloth. They tear at his flesh as he attempts to fend them off with a spear. From his cro
After the excitement dies down, the demon king approaches me. "Come along," he says. "It's time for the main event." The main concourse of the arena is a large open space surrounded by three rings. In the center ring, the demon king waits with his entourage for the arrival of the final contestant. On either side of the central ring are smaller rings, each containing five fighters. The ring on the left contains four humans (the contestants) and one giant man-eating monster who looks to be a mixture of human and ogre. The demon king points to the ring on the right. "Now we have a real challenge," he says. "Two vampires fighting a giant man-eating ogre. Will our champion win this time? Or will the monster feast upon the vampire's blood?" The ring on the right contains six vampires (participants) and one witch whose skin is green. As I watch, the contestants begin to circle each other, sizing each other up. He points to the ring on the left, and the contestants rush to it. They form a
"Whoa!" exclaimed Grognard, staring up at the demon king's enormous mass. "Is he really that big?""Yes," replied the demon king, "he is.""I wonder if I can beat him?" ponders Grognard. The demon king laughed heartily. "No, you can't beat him. Not without magic, anyway."Grognard's mouth hangs agape in shock. "But... I thought you said he couldn't be defeated without magic.""That was a joke," explained the demon king. "I've never seen anything like him, either. This guy's huge!""Why did you decide to host a tournament in the first place?" wondered Grognard. "It sounds like a lot of work.""Oh, no," replied the demon king. "I enjoy tournaments immensely. It gives me a chance to test my strength against other powerful creatures from distant lands."The demon king points at Grognard. "For example, do you think you could defeat me?""Huh?" replied Grognard, surprised. "Um...""Don't worry," said the demon king. "I'm not intending to attack you. Just relax and have fun."The demon king t
