Chapter 5:- The Little Clue

I reach the edge of the city, eager to leave this cursed forest behind me. After a while of walking, I entered the Royal Capital, after a long fight I decide to stop somewhere for the night.

I enter the inn. "Hello," says the innkeeper. "Can I help you?"

"Yes, please," I reply politely. "I'd like a room."

"Certainly. Follow me."

The innkeeper leads me to a small, windowless room at the back of the building. There are no windows, no doors, just a single bed and a small washstand.

"It's not much, but it should suffice," says the innkeeper.

"I'm sorry, sir," he apologizes. "But we have no other rooms available."

You sigh heavily. "That's alright then," you say.

"Thank you," he replies.

Due to the brawl with the bandits and the long journey I am feeling very much tired. Without questioning I went to sleep.

I woke up early in the morning. After getting a bath, I got out of the inn and walked towards the library.

On my way to the library I felt someone calling me “Regal”

I looked left and saw Ridire waving at me.

I waved back.

I got closer to Ridire. “Where are you going early in the morning?" asked Ridire

“I am going to the library to find a book. What about you?”

“I am going to the Divine Palace to submit the report of bandit subjugation. You can come to the Knight hall on the Divine Palace after your work is completed in the library.”

“Then let’s meet again.” I said

I bid farewell to Ridire and went to the library. I found the book which has the content for the god of origin.

The books says “In the beginning, Before everything the supreme being created three species: - Angels the carrier for the holy magic, Demons the carrier of dark magic and humans the carrier for elemental magic.

They created beings similar to them which led to an increase in the number of living beings. Some being began to fall in love with other species and the life born from them carried the distinct magic of both species. The first human created by the Supreme Being is known as the god of origin. It’s a title given by humans to the first human. As time went by the first angel known as Holy Lord and the first demon known as Dark Lord perished after a long battle. Only the god of Origin knows the real reason for the battle.

According to the god of Origin “Every hundred millennium the holy lord and dark lord will descend and when they descend a new era will begin.”

To find the god of origin one should have an angel, a demon and a human along with him/her. The way to my place is to find the map which is kept by the three kings of the three realms.”

After reading the content of the books it looks like I have to meet the king of angels also called the divine king.

I left the library and went to the Divine Palace to meet the Divine King, but was blocked by the guards at the entrance.

I saw Ridire a little far away from the gate.

“Can someone call him for me? He and I are friends and if you tell him I am here he will take me in.”

One of the guards called Ridire and asked if he knew me. The guard came to the gate and allowed me to enter the Divine Palace.

The palace is an imposing two-story building with a large central dome and tall narrow windows to either side of its entrance. The building stands on a wide square, surrounded by tall stately buildings that are all connected together by colonnades and walkways. There are many ornate statues scattered about the area. A fountain in front of the palace offers a drinkable water supply. The interior of the palace is decorated with rich tapestries and paintings.

“It looks like I have to meet the Divine King before I leave heaven but the schedule to meet him is very tight. Can you help me, Ridire?”

“The Divine king wanted to meet the brave who defeated the bandits who were strong as the Divine Knight. We can go after a little while. Why don’t you watch the training for a while? I have finished my assigned task.”

“You should complete the task then we will go visit the divine king”

Ridire left me and went to complete his task and I was sitting on the training ground watching the knights’ train when one knights called out me for battle practice.

"What? Me?" I ask, surprised. "Why me?"

The knight is a big man with an intimidating mace strapped across his back. He towers over all others in the camp and has clearly been fighting for many years. His spiked helmet covers most of his face leaving only his eyes visible from beneath the visor.

"I'm not sure," he says. "But I believe it's your turn."

I look around at the other knights training nearby. They are all older than me and have been training here for years. The youngest among them seem to be about my age or just a few years older. Yet they don't even glance in my direction as they continue their practice.

It seems that no one wants to fight me.

"Fine by me," I say. "Lead on!"

I followed him into combat range where the two of us square off against each other.
