Chapter 007 -Brothers, What Are You Doing Here?

“Third bro, what do you know, hahahah! Second bro has been scammed by all sorts of ladies all his life, before he finally decided to further his education, with many of them even going as far as to save his mobile number with all sorts of names, such as; Bill Payer, Free Cash, My Unlimited ATM, Free Money Source, and so on!”

The three brothers were seated on the beds, facing each other and one of them was so embarrassed at this moment.

“You…” the person, the second brother pointed fiercely at the first brother, who was animatedly narrating a story and acting as though he were present when everything had occurred.

“How dare you speak about me, first bro, when you had already sponsored two girls in colleges… hahaha. Even sponsoring one of their wedding’s expenses without having an idea that you are paying her to marry someone else… hahaha.”

“Fuck you, first brother! What about you who had actually paid the school fees of a girl’s siblings, even buying a house for her parents, only for you to get ditched and replaced later by a guy who was only slightly well off compared to you.”

“This…”

Ares’s mouth was wide open, hearing his roommates revealing their secrets to him.

He couldn’t help but suddenly wonder if he would have made a different decision if he had learned this before now, but knowing himself, Ares was 100% certain that he would have still made the same decision and mistake.

This was how much he loved Sarah, a love that had taken away all his common sense from him.

He still had no idea that what had happened the previous day had only turned out to be a hidden breakthrough for him, as if those events hadn't unfolded, he might never have triggered his inheritance, which in turn might have made him continue living his life in mediocrity for a long time or even for the rest of his life.

But since nothing had happened yet, Ares had no idea.

He sighed, feeling incredibly grateful to his brothers.

Hearing their own experiences now and knowing why they want him to ditch Sarah, all the remaining traces of feelings he has for Sarah were completely gone like a puff of smoke, and what remained in his heart now was nothing but hatred and even more hatred for being used.

Apart from that, he felt all the rifts he had caused between himself and his roommates were completely gone now, and they had once again become close, even closer than they had once been.

“Bros, do you guys not have class today?”

“Huh!”

The two, who were still busily arguing with each other about who was cheated upon the most by ladies abruptly glanced at Ares, and then their faces went blank for a second.

“Duh… I’m not interested in that boring lecture of today.”

“Same for me. I’d rather stay in the room and enjoy myself than go to that class and sleep, thereby getting myself disgraced.”

“This…”

Ares gaped at his brothers.

Of course, he immediately caught their lies. His brothers were the type that valued their studies beyond anything and would still go to classes even if they were sick and on the verge of death.

Without needing to be told, Ares understood why they chose not to go to the class that day.

They had been waiting for his return and now, they were trying to stay with him and keep him company, like what they were presently doing.

‘And I’ve always assumed to be alone with nobody in this world…’

He sighed internally before suddenly standing up.

“Well, I have a work to do, so, I will go and bathe.”

“What!”

The two boys, who appeared to be one to two years older than Ares abruptly shot to their feet.

“Why do you still need to work so hard? Don’t tell me that you’re still trying to convince that bitc… that girl, please.”

“Brother, you know you’ve already been several times absent in school this semester than you’ve been since you were admitted, right? Why don’t you just go to class today, please?”

“I…”

Ares looked at his two brothers seriously for a moment, then he nodded his head.

“Okay. I will go freshen up for class, then.”

Saying this, Ares turned around and walked in the direction of the bathroom, leaving his brothers dumbstruck.

“Did he just listen to us?”

“That was unbelievable.”

They looked at themselves with disbelief before abruptly, the eyes of the eldest one furrowed.

“Third brother is not one to listen to others advise out of his will. My thought is that, for him to have readily accepted means that he was planning something bad. So, we better also get dressed and make sure we accompany him to his class.”

“This…”

The second brother entered a deep thought as well, and then without hesitation, he nodded his head.

“Let’s go.”

The two instant rushed after Ares to the bathroom.

“Ah!! Brothers, what are you doing here?”

“What? You can’t bathe with your big brothers again now, huh? Looks like you are very mature to think that you have something to hide from these big brothers now.”

As though Ares was a little kid and they were the elder ones, the two brothers immediately chastised him, then without hesitation, they took off their clothes and hurriedly showered.

Ares didn’t know how to react for a while before he finally sighed with a nostalgic emotion, recalling how they used to bathe together every day in the past since they were always rushing for early classes back then.

Everything changed because of him.

Before long, the three were done bathing.

“Did you guys not say that you have no interest in the classes you have this morning?”

Ares looked at his brothers, who were already done dressing up, even faster than him with confusion.

“Well, we’ve changed our minds. It’s better to go and sleep in class than to continue staying in this boring room.”

“This…” Ares did not know what to say, so he nodded his head, having no idea about his brothers’ plan to follow him around so that he wouldn't do something that was not funny.
