A queen's wrath. Part 1

The capital's usual jovial mood was subdued in the days following the announcement that the birth of the first prince had gone terribly wrong.

The announcement that the baby had side during birth sent chills down everyone's spine except those who walked the path of the Primal.

They had faced so much adversity to just get to the first stage and have the prestige to be called such and walk the Primal World in such for power and immortality.

In Eldier, Everyone was born with the ability to wield mana and use it in their day-to-day life, but only those with a high enough aptitude, and understanding of the principal and were lucky enough to get a decent cultivation technique could cultivate and rich a stage where they could form a core.

All the Primals in the Dragonian Kingdom and especially in Draga could feel the chill in the air.

Even normal people could tell that something was not right. It was as if everyone was respecting something to happen.

In the underground part of the kingdom, those who dealt in the dark arts and in what would be considered illegal to even the Primal World had gone into hiding.

It was not a time for such activities, dealings, killings, or forbidden research. Even an idiot or the crazy became sane and gained a little bit of intelligence in those days as their minds and bodies restrained them from doing something that would guarantee their deaths.

It was the same throughout the kingdom as soon as they heard the news.

In the capital, the captain of the guards that guarded the gates was off duty and was having a drink in an inn. As he tried to relax and calm his nerves, he could not help but listen to some of the conversations around him.

"Hey Dell, it will happen again, right? I can feel it in the air. So many died the last time."

The warrior said and then took a sip of his drink. He was a warrior in a party of five who were definitely from a guild.

"Well, it will depend."

Dell said in a gloomy tone.

"Depend on what?"

A young man wearing a thief's armor asked. Just by looking at him, you could tell that he was new to the group.

Dell looked at him and then remembered that he had not been around for that long. He was that young.

"If there is even a tiny chance that someone is to blame for the loss of the prince. If there is a chance that there was outside meddling or the midwives did not do their jobs or the queen and the king are just not that compatible."

Dell answered.

"Well, there is a rumor going around that the midwives are nowhere to be found after that night and that the queen was seen weak and distorted before secluding herself. She did carry him for 14 months after all. A sane Dragereins would see that they were more than compatible if she carried him for that long. He was surely going to possess more power than anyone his age in the kingdoms."

A lady wearing a dark red robe said as she smoked a pipe.

"Well, Bambra, All I would say is I hope some nation was responsible for this. War improves our cultivation 5, 7, or even 10-fold for others. It is high time we launched a campaign. Only then will our body adjusts faster so as to meet our cultivate speed and master spells and techniques.

A man said to the woman who had just spoken. He had light armor on and looked like a versatile fighter who favored speed over power.

"Well, I say this is a good thing. I bet all of the spies will get wiped out together with all those evil bastards in the shadows. All I wonder is how they are almost all found out when such an event happens."

A young girl that looked seasoned like she had been fighting since she was born said. She too wore light leather armor.

'Every Primal, organization, and kingdom would like to know too. It is like the queen and king have the whole kingdom in the palm of their hands and they could see or hear everything.'

The captain thought.

'Is it because of that old man, the seer? Come to think of it, nothing was mentioned as to why I could feel his eyes open me anymore. Did he advance?'

He thought.

He tried to not read into it too much but because of his nature, he could not help but speculate.

In the castle, the king was just like always sitting on his throne and drinking. Like last time, Dontas appeared next to him.

"My lord, they are ready."

Dontas said and three men and two women wearing ordinary armor and looking like they were just ordinary guild members walked into the room and knelt down.

To the ordinary eye, one would think that those people were just that, ordinary, but to a trained eye you would see that they was something more about them than met the eye.

First was the fact that they were all as tall as Draka and by just looking at their weapons you could tell that they were of the highest quality.

After they knelt down, the king took another sip of his drink and leaned forward.

"Let the seeds of war scatter and lay the foundation of conquest."

He said and finally smiled after a long time. It was only a week after she throw his only son into the forbidden forest without showing any form of remorse.

All the warriors nodded once and vanished from the throne room.

Seconds later, the whole capital started to shake.

"Oh..."

He said as he lazily set laid back on his throne.

"It seems like it is time."

The king said.

"She has been in the cultivation chamber, recovering from the birth for a week now."

Dontas said as he got excited. It had been a while since he had felt the air change to one to what it was now. It felt like a predator had just woken up.

"So, it seems like giving birth is a battle in itself. I wonder if that experience has given her clarity and maybe pushed her further to her breakthrough to the circle that eludes both of us."

The king said with wonder in his tone.

"Well, I guess our enemies are about to find out. Let's hope that as she let out her grief and wrath she crosses the border and starts this war for us with us not being prepared whatsoever."

Dontas said, his voice and tone truly hoping she would do that.

This forced a smile on the king for the second time that day and in ages.

"Now that would be fun. It is too bad that as a king, I have to look after our kingdom's image, making me do all these preparations just to make sure we win any war we fight when just participating in war and with the odds against us would make us stronger whether we win or lose. How I envy the common folks. They might enjoy what's coming more than me. But, they will have to wait"

He said as he tilted his head and looked up. It was like he knew that there was something above the castle at that moment. Dontas did the same.

Outside, everyone stopped what they were doing as they felt the earth shake. Not long after, everyone looked in the direction of the castle with some of the people's mouths becaming dry others managing to take a gulp of saliva.

The woman from the shop came out and looked in the same direction and then smiled.

"Ow, it looks like from this day on I won't be bored anymore."

She said as she knew just like everyone else what was about to happen.

In the castle's direction, a woman was floating in the air like a female Grim Reaper but wearing green and with her eyes turned completely green too.

She loomed over the capital like a predator looking at its prey.
