The capital's usual jovial mood was subdued in the days following the announcement that the birth of the first prince had gone terribly wrong.
The announcement that the baby had side during birth sent chills down everyone's spine except those who walked the path of the Primal.
They had faced so much adversity to just get to the first stage and have the prestige to be called such and walk the Primal World in such for power and immortality.
In Eldier, Everyone was born with the ability to wield mana and use it in their day-to-day life, but only those with a high enough aptitude, and understanding of the principal and were lucky enough to get a decent cultivation technique could cultivate and rich a stage where they could form a core.
All the Primals in the Dragonian Kingdom and especially in Draga could feel the chill in the air.
Even normal people could tell that something was not right. It was as if everyone was respecting something to happen.
In the underground part of the kingdom, those who dealt in the dark arts and in what would be considered illegal to even the Primal World had gone into hiding.
It was not a time for such activities, dealings, killings, or forbidden research. Even an idiot or the crazy became sane and gained a little bit of intelligence in those days as their minds and bodies restrained them from doing something that would guarantee their deaths.
It was the same throughout the kingdom as soon as they heard the news.
In the capital, the captain of the guards that guarded the gates was off duty and was having a drink in an inn. As he tried to relax and calm his nerves, he could not help but listen to some of the conversations around him.
"Hey Dell, it will happen again, right? I can feel it in the air. So many died the last time."
The warrior said and then took a sip of his drink. He was a warrior in a party of five who were definitely from a guild.
"Well, it will depend."
Dell said in a gloomy tone.
"Depend on what?"
A young man wearing a thief's armor asked. Just by looking at him, you could tell that he was new to the group.
Dell looked at him and then remembered that he had not been around for that long. He was that young.
"If there is even a tiny chance that someone is to blame for the loss of the prince. If there is a chance that there was outside meddling or the midwives did not do their jobs or the queen and the king are just not that compatible."
Dell answered.
"Well, there is a rumor going around that the midwives are nowhere to be found after that night and that the queen was seen weak and distorted before secluding herself. She did carry him for 14 months after all. A sane Dragereins would see that they were more than compatible if she carried him for that long. He was surely going to possess more power than anyone his age in the kingdoms."
A lady wearing a dark red robe said as she smoked a pipe.
"Well, Bambra, All I would say is I hope some nation was responsible for this. War improves our cultivation 5, 7, or even 10-fold for others. It is high time we launched a campaign. Only then will our body adjusts faster so as to meet our cultivate speed and master spells and techniques.
A man said to the woman who had just spoken. He had light armor on and looked like a versatile fighter who favored speed over power.
"Well, I say this is a good thing. I bet all of the spies will get wiped out together with all those evil bastards in the shadows. All I wonder is how they are almost all found out when such an event happens."
A young girl that looked seasoned like she had been fighting since she was born said. She too wore light leather armor.
'Every Primal, organization, and kingdom would like to know too. It is like the queen and king have the whole kingdom in the palm of their hands and they could see or hear everything.'
The captain thought.
'Is it because of that old man, the seer? Come to think of it, nothing was mentioned as to why I could feel his eyes open me anymore. Did he advance?'
He thought.
He tried to not read into it too much but because of his nature, he could not help but speculate.
In the castle, the king was just like always sitting on his throne and drinking. Like last time, Dontas appeared next to him.
"My lord, they are ready."
Dontas said and three men and two women wearing ordinary armor and looking like they were just ordinary guild members walked into the room and knelt down.
To the ordinary eye, one would think that those people were just that, ordinary, but to a trained eye you would see that they was something more about them than met the eye.
First was the fact that they were all as tall as Draka and by just looking at their weapons you could tell that they were of the highest quality.
After they knelt down, the king took another sip of his drink and leaned forward.
"Let the seeds of war scatter and lay the foundation of conquest."
He said and finally smiled after a long time. It was only a week after she throw his only son into the forbidden forest without showing any form of remorse.
All the warriors nodded once and vanished from the throne room.
Seconds later, the whole capital started to shake.
"Oh..."
He said as he lazily set laid back on his throne.
"It seems like it is time."
The king said.
"She has been in the cultivation chamber, recovering from the birth for a week now."
Dontas said as he got excited. It had been a while since he had felt the air change to one to what it was now. It felt like a predator had just woken up.
"So, it seems like giving birth is a battle in itself. I wonder if that experience has given her clarity and maybe pushed her further to her breakthrough to the circle that eludes both of us."
The king said with wonder in his tone.
"Well, I guess our enemies are about to find out. Let's hope that as she let out her grief and wrath she crosses the border and starts this war for us with us not being prepared whatsoever."
Dontas said, his voice and tone truly hoping she would do that.
This forced a smile on the king for the second time that day and in ages.
"Now that would be fun. It is too bad that as a king, I have to look after our kingdom's image, making me do all these preparations just to make sure we win any war we fight when just participating in war and with the odds against us would make us stronger whether we win or lose. How I envy the common folks. They might enjoy what's coming more than me. But, they will have to wait"
He said as he tilted his head and looked up. It was like he knew that there was something above the castle at that moment. Dontas did the same.
Outside, everyone stopped what they were doing as they felt the earth shake. Not long after, everyone looked in the direction of the castle with some of the people's mouths becaming dry others managing to take a gulp of saliva.
The woman from the shop came out and looked in the same direction and then smiled.
"Ow, it looks like from this day on I won't be bored anymore."
She said as she knew just like everyone else what was about to happen.
In the castle's direction, a woman was floating in the air like a female Grim Reaper but wearing green and with her eyes turned completely green too.
She loomed over the capital like a predator looking at its prey.
"Ahh, Cantel, when is this bitch going get it over with? I am still just a few cores away from breaking through, my core is itching for me to devour a human's core right now."A man said while clouded in darkness. There were two of them in a dark, wet cave that was in a mountain that was far from the capital. The only light came from four mana stones that were at the ends of an intricate formation that was drawn down on the ground and with the two in the center of it.Not that far from the mountain was a small town with walls surrounding it and guards posted on it, looking at the mountainside. It was called Badenia, named after the Primal who was in the fourth circle of power that guarded the town for many years till she died because she could not break through to the fifth circle. It was one of only three small towns in the kingdom that had a powerful Town Lord that did not leave and went to a bigger city where they could get quality resources that would help them break through."Cot
"Ahhh!!!, It hurts, It hurts!" Cotex was in a dark room and rolling on the floor as blood gushed out from his wounds. You could say that his anger and the nature of his mind had saved him because all he could think about when the unpleasant feeling of being teleported helped bring his consciousness back from the brink of death was killing whoever had attacked them. The veil of darkness had disappeared the moment he received all those grievous wounds and having his mana depleted. Even with the scar on his face, you could tell that he look like a younger version of Cantel but one that had his features more pronounced and his eyes looking more sinister than a snake's. His hair was dark, long, and greasy and he looked like he was 18 to 20 years old but with an aura of being someone powerful even from afar. As he rolled all around the floor, a purple bottle suddenly appeared in his right hand after he let go of his one good blade. He popped it open and drank all of it. Another one ap
Back in the capital, before Cantel's capture and Cotez almost courting death from just one attack that was not even the queen's spell but her having that much control over mana to wield such devastating attacks on Fourth Circle Primals, the captain, the lady from Snake Eyes and everyone had been looking at the queen on top of the castle before she started her rampage. She was more than tens of kilometers away but many had no problem seeing her while others saw a flouting dote in the sky. It was the capital after all and everyone that could afford to stay there had to train their cultivation in order to keep up with the prices and avoid being killed by challenges as per the rules of the kingdom."Dzagori."A person called out as he walked over to someone he noticed in the crowd looking up.It was the name of the captain of the guards of the city gates. Dzagori looked over his shoulder and saw a belly old man with muscles for days. He was bold and had scars all around his right hand goi
'Some would say the means to communicate with someone is the true essence of a human's desire, as to be able to convey one's feelings and to be understood is freedom itself. Well, how can I tell this inbreed maggot of a bastard that I want to throw him into a pit of boiling oil and fry him to a crisp while healing him each time that he is about to die and do it all over again?'Arkan was looking at Draka furiously again as he saw that the injection that was the symbol of torture for him in Eldeir had a now greener liquid in it.Draka saw this and just smiled like he was Frankenstein in the flesh, well only a much, much more handsome Frankenstein. This was all in Arkan's mind of course.Draka just injected him and watched as the process of expelling the poison was much slower again and took some notes down.He had made custom earplugs for the inhuman cry Arkan always let out while for the first time in his life, he had come up with a way to manipulate his respiratory system to shut dow
After that day, Arkan could not think of anything but that scroll. The fact that his intuition was not helping him at this point made him grumpy and now he even felt hungrier than he used to. After thinking for a while, he was sure that it was because of the fact that there were only dotes on that scroll with no real words written and he was even contemplating that it was meant for blind people. What turned his emotions into turmoil though was what Draka had told him after showing him it and going on a teaching spree that came out of nowhere. "This is the base of every cultivation for every Primal turned into a body language. In the Abyss Age, a time when demons walked every continent beside humans, the Old Primordials had to find a way to introduce cultivation to any human with the aptitude to cultivate." Draka said and Arkan was happy that he had been born in this age. He was sure that he would have died in those days for sure. Draka continued. "This was because they were losing
While Arkan was learning more than he thought that he would at the age he was which was only 2 months old at the time and because Draka was now always talking to him like his teacher when drank but understanding that he was a child and so kept his rumblings at least about the simple things about Eldier, he was getting closer and closer to the answer that kept escaping him.He was sure that there was something that he could do to make himself stronger even though all that he could do was to cry and poop, no, not cry but cream which was how he cried. In the capital, the queen came back out of the blue as the golem she had made fell from the sky above the capital and landed outside the First Section walls. It shaded the layer of trees and soil that it had absorbed when it first came to be and as it did so only the houses and humans that were still inside them could be seen as it got smaller. It jumped and landed on the section where there were no longer houses because of it and then fuse
The next day, Dontas prepared himself for something that he had never wanted to do in his life but knew that he was the only one that could complete such a task.‘In my lifetime, I never thought that I would go into that place.'He thought as he turned around and left his bedroom. It was early in the morning and he wanted to get this over with sooner rather than later. He arrived in front of Boa’s store in seconds and stood in front of it for some time as he looked straight at the front of the closed doors. He did not look up at the sign above but he could feel that he was being watched. It was like the old seer was watching, a feeling he was starting to forget. He steeled himself and went in. For someone who looked as scary as he was, this scene was priceless. For a split second, he smelled smoothing that was like boiled rotten flesh being cooked that took him by surprise but he managed to compose himself.“Ohh, you finally came in. I thought u might just pass by like the rest of t
As the King was contemplating the reason for childbirth, a woman was making her way from the city of Palagra to the capital. It was a long way but she was determined to reach there. She was wearing light leather armor that was grey in color and had fair features. She kept her hair in a ponytail style so it could not distract her in a fight. She had something to protect that she was carrying on her back. It was a baby that was calmly looking around with curiosity at the changing environment as she ran. It was a boy with black hair, not the usual brown which was the norm in the Dragarian Kingdom. He was only a month older than Arkan. He was held secure by a cloth as his mother did not want to always protect him when fighting an enemy from the front. By the blood on her front and on her armor, you could tell that she had been fighting ever since she left the safety of where she came from.'Damn, there are still lots of monsters roaming around close to the main road because of the beast t
