"Ahh, Cantel, when is this bitch going get it over with? I am still just a few cores away from breaking through, my core is itching for me to devour a human's core right now."
A man said while clouded in darkness. There were two of them in a dark, wet cave that was in a mountain that was far from the capital. The only light came from four mana stones that were at the ends of an intricate formation that was drawn down on the ground and with the two in the center of it.
Not that far from the mountain was a small town with walls surrounding it and guards posted on it, looking at the mountainside.
It was called Badenia, named after the Primal who was in the fourth circle of power that guarded the town for many years till she died because she could not break through to the fifth circle.
It was one of only three small towns in the kingdom that had a powerful Town Lord that did not leave and went to a bigger city where they could get quality resources that would help them break through.
"Cotez, first of all, I am only here because the organization asked me to help you to break through and because we cannot hunt in the other kingdoms as we are wanted more than any other dark organization. Hake, if we so much as show ourselves in any of them, even the royal army would get involved. Because of your cultivation technique, it is impossible to not get spotted unless we got lucky."
Cantel said.
He too was clouded in darkness and you could not make out any of his features. He sighed like he could tell that Cotez was sulking under that layer of darkness.
"We are here to hunt down a Voracious, a man who has just reached the fourth circle of power just like us so that you can devour his core in order for you to cultivate. The rules are suited for us to hunt in this kingdom, but Dragereins are strong and they welcome a challenge as their bloodline gets stronger as they face challenges."
Cantel said.
"And ours gets stronger the more poison we digest, making our blood unique and poisonous. What's there to fear with morons who would rather fight than learn different tactics to kill their prey?"
Cotez said.
Cantel was getting annoyed at Cotez's constant disregard of how other bloodlines might be stronger than theirs. Yes, Dragereins rather fight than read a book but growing up killing all kinds of prey, including trying to kill people who are as strong as you or a level stronger than you who too had grown up killing was a different matter altogether.
"Before coming here, we were both told the history of the queen's wrath and never to approach the capital. How she is able to find those she targets during her rampage is still a mystery to even our organization. We cannot risk it, we just came at the wrong time."
Cantel said.
"We are just wasting the mana stones while we are sitting here waiting for a possible attack. We only come here 6 days ago, only to hide here all this time. We should just attach the Town Lord, let me devour his core, and move on to the next one. Fuck that queen of theirs, I am not afraid of her."
Cotez was getting restless and Cantel knew that he wouldn't be able to keep him stable for long. They had been in the center of the formation for days at that point.
'How am I related to this idiot?'
Cantel thought.
He was about to say something to calm him down, but that was when it happened.
The tall mountain upper region was blown away by something even taller than it. Rocks as big as houses scattered everywhere as they landed hundred and thousands of meters away.
Luckily, they were not blown in the town's direction.
As that happened, Cantel and Cotez showed their level of experience as they both looked up out of shock but quickly gathered themselves. Cotez went into a defensive position and stance as he took out two caved dark sickly looking blades while Cantel put his hand on the ground and the formation lit up the second he touched and poured his mana into it.
From the moment the top of the mountain got blown off to the moment the formation was activated, it took 1 and a half seconds but they were half a second too late.
Once a formation had been activated, every Primal knew that they could not influence it or stop it in time unless it was not a proper formation, it is a formation three times lower than your current power or you are a Formation Primal Master that studies and create formations, thus, the person attacking them did something that was out of the box.
From the walls that covered the cave and were still up, a sharp spike that was condensed in milliseconds was made to be as hard as a diamond and sharper than the sharpest blade on earth and shot out, cutting through Cantel's hand that was supplying mana to the formation.
"No!!!! Bother!!"
Cotez screamed with a tone of uncontrolled anger and rage. He tried to take a step towards his brother but they were facing someone who was more ruthless than both of them, calculating and more experienced.
Three more spikes shot out from the opposite wall, aiming for Cotez's core, heart, and head. Gritting his teeth and knowing how powerful just one of those spikes where, he braced himself, and channeled every mana he had in his core to his Defensive Field that was always active and to his defensive spell.
"Thousand Seconds Dark Blades."
He cast.
He was still shrouded in a dark veil even when he was now out in the open. Dark smoke began to swell around him and his caved blades while four more arms appeared on his sides.
It was a spell both used for defense and attack, making him able to perform a thousand sword strikes in one second.
The blades and three spikes clashed, making one loud noise like a thousand blades had not just struck against three rock spikes.
Cotez had survived the attack, but a small piece of rock had stabbed him in his stomach, his left shoulder was shredded, the blade on his left hand had been broken and he had a gush in his left eye that stretched all the way back to the back of his head with his left ear gone.
It was clear that if he did not get any help or drank a powerful healing potion, he was going to die. All of his mana was depleted as it all went all into his spell.
While Cotez was going through his own hell, Cantel was not managing any better. Because he had chosen to activate the formation than defend himself, he had no way of blocking any of the attacks coming his way.
Knowing that the attack worked but the formation was already activated, two more of the same spikes were shot out from the ground that was at the parameter of the formation and struck Cantel on his shoulder and stomach. He had not expected them to be shot from the ground as the first had come from the opposite wall and so, he could not avoid them.
The last two spikes were not shot out with the same force as the first one. This made them pierce through his defensive field and slow down as they entered his body.
This made him jolt off the ground and separate him from the formation as none of his body was touching it. Ignoring the pain and the moment the formation finished activating, he was able to see the condition that his brother had been in at the moment too.
As Cotez was teleported away and the formation disappeared, he wondered why his brother had been so injured that he was on the brink of death while he was alive when he could not defend himself from such powerful attacks.
He found the answer to his question the moment after the cave became dark again as the teleportation formation and his brother disappeared and a hand grabbed his throat while he was in mid-air.
Knowing that the formation had finished activating, the person attacking them had stepped onto the ground where it had been and captured Cantel.
As soon as the hand grabbed him, the dark veil that was covering him revealed a man in his thirties whose face was normal except for the teeth that he was showing which looked like those of a piranha.
His left hand was scarred like acid had rained down on him while his right hand had scales going up his arms like droplets of rain.
This all had happened within two seconds.
It was dark again but two eyes were looking at him as the person's arm stretched out to his throat. As he looked at the eyes he knew at the moment who it was that had come after them and he had never been more afraid than he had been at that moment.
He had walked in the dark ever since he was young together with his brother, doing dark and vile unforgivable things that led them both to join one of the evilest organizations in Eldier.
He looked into the eyes and thought he was looking into a monster, for they were not eyes, but something green, full of power, and with both of them resembling leaves.
He did not want to look into those eyes ever again as they scared him to his core and so he looked away only to look up at the blown part of the mountain and see something that again shock him to his core.
A head as big as a double-story mansion, with buildings, stones, and trees forming it and having big green leaf-like eyes was staring straight at him.
He knew from being defeated as easily as they were that he could not escape and so he resolved himself.
His mouth moved at that moment and he bit down on something. As soon as he did, his body went pale and he was dying with seconds left to live as his heart stopped.
"Life Seed."
A woman's voice was heard as the giant head that was looking down upon the two moved, allowing the moon's light to light up the now open cave and revealing a beautiful but menacing elf queen whose hair had now become green.
She had cast a spell.
She had pointed her hand at the man's forehead and a green light went into his body, making his condition better in seconds and reviving Cantel who had thought he had died.
He took a large breath and opened his eyes again. He was horrified as he was still looking at those powerful scary green eyes. What's more is that the hand that had been chopped off had healed together with the acid scars that went up his hand.
His other two wounds had also healed.
He started to struggle as this meant that there was no way for him to kill himself unless he blow his core or head off.
As he thought that, a finger touched his stomach, where his core was and he felt something entering his body and core. That was when his whole body went limp and he was paralyzed from the neck down.
He was beyond horrified and scared at that moment, even having the time to think that the people he and his brother had toutured all these years had never been as terrified as he was at that moment.
He could change places with them with pleasure.
The queen stepped forward, closed her eyes, and inhaled his fear like she was basking in it. This almost made the man faint.
"Acid Rain."
She said as she opened her eyes again. The man did not know what to fear more, the terrifying queen in front of him or the fact that he and his brother might be the reason why the last kingdom their organization was tolerated just became their worst enemy.
"You shall tell me what you did to my child."
She said and making Cantel shit himself, that is if he still had control over his body.
She throw him up in the giant's direction and he was swallowed by it in one gulp.
One had to imagine how fun it was being swallowed by buildings, rocks, and trees all mangled together.
The queen had disappeared and appeared on top of the giant that was tall as a mountain.
It looked in a direction that was far from the capital but had a big city hundreds of miles from where it was.
It jumped and disappeared far in the sky above towards that direction and made no sound whatsoever when it jumped and left.
This was the case when it had landed near the mountain seconds ago and the people in the town had only noticed it was near their neighboring mountain when it had slapped the top of the mountain and blew it away.
It was all over in less than 8 seconds with many not being able to see it because they had not been outside when the mountain got blown off.
As they looked at the mountain that was now halved, only the Town Lord and a few knew that the queen's wrath had started.
It was time to prepare, for just like the last time she was on a rampage, many beasts were about to go on their own rampage because of all the distractions she brought with her rage.
This excited all who were Dragereins as the thought of a deadly fight was all they lived for.
"Ahhh!!!, It hurts, It hurts!" Cotex was in a dark room and rolling on the floor as blood gushed out from his wounds. You could say that his anger and the nature of his mind had saved him because all he could think about when the unpleasant feeling of being teleported helped bring his consciousness back from the brink of death was killing whoever had attacked them. The veil of darkness had disappeared the moment he received all those grievous wounds and having his mana depleted. Even with the scar on his face, you could tell that he look like a younger version of Cantel but one that had his features more pronounced and his eyes looking more sinister than a snake's. His hair was dark, long, and greasy and he looked like he was 18 to 20 years old but with an aura of being someone powerful even from afar. As he rolled all around the floor, a purple bottle suddenly appeared in his right hand after he let go of his one good blade. He popped it open and drank all of it. Another one ap
Back in the capital, before Cantel's capture and Cotez almost courting death from just one attack that was not even the queen's spell but her having that much control over mana to wield such devastating attacks on Fourth Circle Primals, the captain, the lady from Snake Eyes and everyone had been looking at the queen on top of the castle before she started her rampage. She was more than tens of kilometers away but many had no problem seeing her while others saw a flouting dote in the sky. It was the capital after all and everyone that could afford to stay there had to train their cultivation in order to keep up with the prices and avoid being killed by challenges as per the rules of the kingdom."Dzagori."A person called out as he walked over to someone he noticed in the crowd looking up.It was the name of the captain of the guards of the city gates. Dzagori looked over his shoulder and saw a belly old man with muscles for days. He was bold and had scars all around his right hand goi
'Some would say the means to communicate with someone is the true essence of a human's desire, as to be able to convey one's feelings and to be understood is freedom itself. Well, how can I tell this inbreed maggot of a bastard that I want to throw him into a pit of boiling oil and fry him to a crisp while healing him each time that he is about to die and do it all over again?'Arkan was looking at Draka furiously again as he saw that the injection that was the symbol of torture for him in Eldeir had a now greener liquid in it.Draka saw this and just smiled like he was Frankenstein in the flesh, well only a much, much more handsome Frankenstein. This was all in Arkan's mind of course.Draka just injected him and watched as the process of expelling the poison was much slower again and took some notes down.He had made custom earplugs for the inhuman cry Arkan always let out while for the first time in his life, he had come up with a way to manipulate his respiratory system to shut dow
After that day, Arkan could not think of anything but that scroll. The fact that his intuition was not helping him at this point made him grumpy and now he even felt hungrier than he used to. After thinking for a while, he was sure that it was because of the fact that there were only dotes on that scroll with no real words written and he was even contemplating that it was meant for blind people. What turned his emotions into turmoil though was what Draka had told him after showing him it and going on a teaching spree that came out of nowhere. "This is the base of every cultivation for every Primal turned into a body language. In the Abyss Age, a time when demons walked every continent beside humans, the Old Primordials had to find a way to introduce cultivation to any human with the aptitude to cultivate." Draka said and Arkan was happy that he had been born in this age. He was sure that he would have died in those days for sure. Draka continued. "This was because they were losing
While Arkan was learning more than he thought that he would at the age he was which was only 2 months old at the time and because Draka was now always talking to him like his teacher when drank but understanding that he was a child and so kept his rumblings at least about the simple things about Eldier, he was getting closer and closer to the answer that kept escaping him.He was sure that there was something that he could do to make himself stronger even though all that he could do was to cry and poop, no, not cry but cream which was how he cried. In the capital, the queen came back out of the blue as the golem she had made fell from the sky above the capital and landed outside the First Section walls. It shaded the layer of trees and soil that it had absorbed when it first came to be and as it did so only the houses and humans that were still inside them could be seen as it got smaller. It jumped and landed on the section where there were no longer houses because of it and then fuse
The next day, Dontas prepared himself for something that he had never wanted to do in his life but knew that he was the only one that could complete such a task.‘In my lifetime, I never thought that I would go into that place.'He thought as he turned around and left his bedroom. It was early in the morning and he wanted to get this over with sooner rather than later. He arrived in front of Boa’s store in seconds and stood in front of it for some time as he looked straight at the front of the closed doors. He did not look up at the sign above but he could feel that he was being watched. It was like the old seer was watching, a feeling he was starting to forget. He steeled himself and went in. For someone who looked as scary as he was, this scene was priceless. For a split second, he smelled smoothing that was like boiled rotten flesh being cooked that took him by surprise but he managed to compose himself.“Ohh, you finally came in. I thought u might just pass by like the rest of t
As the King was contemplating the reason for childbirth, a woman was making her way from the city of Palagra to the capital. It was a long way but she was determined to reach there. She was wearing light leather armor that was grey in color and had fair features. She kept her hair in a ponytail style so it could not distract her in a fight. She had something to protect that she was carrying on her back. It was a baby that was calmly looking around with curiosity at the changing environment as she ran. It was a boy with black hair, not the usual brown which was the norm in the Dragarian Kingdom. He was only a month older than Arkan. He was held secure by a cloth as his mother did not want to always protect him when fighting an enemy from the front. By the blood on her front and on her armor, you could tell that she had been fighting ever since she left the safety of where she came from.'Damn, there are still lots of monsters roaming around close to the main road because of the beast t
"Oops, I almost got carried away there."Drollo said after looking at Drika's eyes and realizing she had been shocked by amount of killing intent that he had put out in that split second. She still had her guard up but had went from an attacking posture to a defensive one.She was now sure that the person that she was fighting was not a normal one. It had been a long time since she was so coutouse of her opponent and it went to show just how much a Primal's killing intent could change the course of a fight.'Good, at least now she is not being lead by her bloodline insticts.'Drollo thought. He let his guard down and stood up straight as he put his hands on his back like an old wise man.His gesture startled Brika but she did not let her guard down. She had just managed to reach the uppor tier of her Circle and was fighting someone who had been in her current Circle of power for years and who was more than her current age was something she never thought when considering a fight.Droll
