Chapter 8.

The executive watched Henry with repulsion as he tried to do what he knew best how to do.

"Is this going to take forever? If you don't know what to do, just drop the damn remote and let the specialists do their work." One of the executives said loudly with a bored glance and the rest just laughed.

"I think he is lost, by merely looking at him, you'll know that he's not good at anything, he just wants to do guessing work with us, I think it's a pure time waste to have him in front of us, he's not fit to be among us, just look at him." Another said and they all cracked up.

Henry didn't budge because he wasn't bothered by their silly rants, he was more focused on what he was doing, scrolling and reading some content on the huge screen. He needed to place those low-minded thinking executives in their lane and he shall certainly do that.

The executives' rants began to bother Mia, she couldn't just sit there and watch those fools disobey her young master. The young master might not take any meaning to it, however, she does.

Clearing her throat, she stood up to address the executives, "I'd like to disclose something vital to you all." Mia began, her stern eyes darting from one executive to the other.

"Oh finally! Something fun, go on, beauty." The youngest-looking executives there urged.

Mia gave him a forced smile as she tried not to read any other meaning to the man's world, "I just want you all to know that the person you all are degrading and raining scornful remarks on is the new CEO of this company." She announced and some of the executives sat up right immediately.

"What the hell did you just say?" One questioned.

"You heard me, right sir, Henry is the new CEO and the earlier we all get that fact and work on our behavior, the better we'll all relate with each other around here." She replied calmly.

By the time she finished the announcement, Henry veered around and faced everyone, his face blank and eyes cold.

"So... You mean this is our new CEO?" The youngest executive asked, his eyes scanning Henry.

"Yes, do you want me to put it down in writing for you, sir?" Mia asked sarcastically.

The young executive stood up and bowed down to the surprise of all. No one was expecting such a display from him because he was the most haughty of them all.

Henry just stared at the drama display with a bored expression and began to wonder what Mr. Shah was doing. He knew him, being one of the less privileged workers in the company, he never got a chance to do anything that would involve him facing the executives or other high-ranking members of the company.

Mr. Shah wasn't just rude but also very cunning, Henry doesn't know what he was up to and he wants to find out.

Standing straight and firm, Mr. Shah cleared his throat and said, "It's a great pleasure to have another insane human of the Humphrey family who would finally bring this company down on its knees." He said with a grin and the other executives began to chortle.

Henry creased his brow and observed the executives as they laughed at Mr. Shah's lame joke. He looked towards Mia who looked hot and angry and gave her a half smile. He doesn't want her to get involved, he'll put those men where they belong soon, "Mr. Shah?" Henry called and the laughing ceased.

"You were right in that description and also wrong..." He began.

"What do you mean?" Mr. Shah asked.

"I am insane and you'll soon see how insane I can get, about bringing the company down on its knees, you're wrong. Someone will definitely go down on their knees but it would not be this company. Now if you're all done laughing and making fun of each other, can we talk like businessmen?" He asked, to the shock of most of the executives.

They thought he would get angry and disrupt the meeting, they all know the Humphrey's family sons and daughters, and they all have anger issues.

"How dare..."

"Save the threat for later Mr. Shah, we have a pressing issue at hand to discuss." Henry instantly interrupted the angry-looking man.

"Please, gentlemen, let's all behave and get this done with, we all have different things to do." Mia chipped in, trying not to laugh upon seeing the faces of those men. They all have had different experiences with the Humphrey's sons but this one was different.

Turning to Henry, she said, "Young master, please continue."

Henry nodded and began, "I see you all have plans to employ the services of foreign architects into the company."

"Yes, that's the best we can do, with their help, we'll be able to create unique designs that would sell. Our business isn't moving well because we lack good architects in our company." One of the executives replied.

Henry nodded, "Have any of you sat down to think about the fact that employing them would cost a fortune, and still their creation might not be what we really need?" He asked.

"Look, Mr. CEO, this is business and we take risks here, you can't just come from your high throne up there to come and tell professionals like us what risk is." An executive stated and Henry gave a knowing look to him.

"Look, Mr. Hans, I am a graduate and a businessman like you all, I know business is all about risk but there are risks that are worth taking, this one is just not in our favor, first, the company's account is low on funds, we can't afford to take any silly risk that would make us go bankrupt," Henry explained calmly.

The executives were surprised as to how he got to know their names, "Did you go to school to learn our names or have you actually studied something useful? I don't think you did because if you had really studied, you'd not be vomiting such debris from your mouth." Mr. Hans said but Henry just shrugged.

"I don't care about how he got to know our names, he's stupid to think that he can come here on the first day and try to say shits! His brothers have ruined many branches of their Father's Empire, I can already see this one crumbling." Mr. Shah spat and the other executives nodded their heads in agreement.

"Hiring new architects isn't an option now, we can not afford it and that's final." Henry declared and the executives just sneered at him.

"Look kid, you're just a spoiled brat and you have no idea what it takes to run the business, how about you sit down like the boss you are and let the pros of the business like us handle everything? You'll get some of the credits once we succeed in this." The oldest-looking executive said and Henry just gave him a half smile and turned towards the screen.

"All those suggestions would not work in this company, as you've said, I am the boss and I have every right to accept and reject. I don't see these..." He said pointing to the screen," as solutions to the company's present condition. Doing this would only worsen the company's ugly crisis, Mr. Alec." Henry maintained.

"Unbelievable! How did the empire bring such a rude man as a CEO, what absurdity!" Mr. Shah huffed.

"If you think those are scrap, what do you suggest we do, Mr. CEO?" The old executive asked.

"Good... Finally, someone who knows the reason we are here." Henry let out and the executives scoffed.

"I'm working on two designs currently because I am an architect too, so don't worry, I'll bring those two designs and we'll see where to go from there." He stated.

"What in the name of foolishness are you saying? Do you think your stupid designs would outmatch those of the experts that we want to hire? We intend to get unique people and not some armature like you. What made you think your useless designs would outshine theirs?" Mr. Hans asked angrily and the other executives supported him.

Henry shook his head and looked at them, "I didn't say their designs would not be good, what I am communicating is that my designs would surpass theirs any day and any time." He said with an aura of confidence and calmness.

"Ohh, so you believe in yourself so much, huh?" Mr. Hans asked, standing up angrily.

"I do believe in my talent and myself, Mr. Hans." Henry sassed with an air of authority.

"We shall see about that then, just don't forget the consequences of losing the bet, Mr. CEO. You shall hear from us sooner than you think." Mr. Shah implored proudly and turned to leave.

"You'll regret making a bet with Mr. Shah, spoilt brat." An executive scoffed and left too.

"Mr. Shah would make you bite dust and I'll be there to remind you of the rubbish you vomit from your mouth today. Good day Mr. CEO." Mr. Hans huffed at Henry and left too.

Henry stood with a bored expression and watched all of them leave after saying trash. When they all left, he took his seat and turned to Mia.
