Chapter 6

The manager turned to look at Clinton, then back to his phones screen, he ended the call and sent a text message instead.

"Mr Clinton where are you"

Clinton's tone was relaxed as he read the message aloud for the man to hear!

The man stared at Clinton in horror as if he had seen a ghost. He stumbled back dozen feet as though he had been punched in the face.

He bit his lips until blood came out, not believing his own eyes.

"You are Mister Clinton?"

"That's right!"

The man bowed his head on the floor immediately!

"Mr Clinton… forgive my I'll manners. I was not in my senses earlier, I was foolish, to have insulted you. Please forgive me." He started knocking his head against the hard floor. "I don't want to loose my job else my wife will kill me!"

Clinton found his actions amusing. "This is how things are like at this restaurant? I'm disappointed"

His words weren't cold but when the man heard it, he felt as though he was being judged on judgement day. His ears kept reacting on its own, constantly echoing the words in his ears.

But Clinton didn't stop there, "You treat people like animals just because you are higher than them? Do you think humans are Gods, to act high and mighty?"

His words struck the manager like spikes as his body started shaking!

"So just because you are the manager, you don't expect people below your so called standards to approach you? Tell me?"

The manager shook his head like he didn't want his head. "No. Mr Clinton! I'm not worthy enough to stand in front of you"

"Haha" Clinton laughed and then scolded. "You are still not changing your attitude, you still believe in status don't you?,"

The man covered his mouth, wishing urbhad never said those. "no please. I don't"

Clinton glared at him and felt pity for all those rich people out there who thought the world belonged to them just because they have some few money.

"Get your ass up!"

The manager obeyed like a robot and stood up, cold sweats running down his neck.

"This should be your first and last. If you look down in people again, you will lose your prestigious position" his tone was biting as he proceeded. "let all your workers know this as well"

After giving him a good scoldings, Clinton felt alleviated. "Now let head to the office and finish with the paperwork"

The man opened the door and lead him to the office.

"Mr Clinton," he said politely "I believe Mrs Wayne had already told you everything. Once you finish signing, this restaurant will officially belong to you"

He retrieved a document from his desk and passed it to him. "Please look through everything and check whether all the agreement is well organized before signing"

"Alright"

Clinton took the documents and brashed through very quickly, but he made sure to understand everything in the agreement.

As he was reading, he noticed the man was staring at him.

"Is there something that I need to know?"

The man fidgeted, before saying. "You look so young. That was why I couldn't recognize you.

Clinton nodded but didn't say anything.

Clinton signed his name under agreement and left the office, yet the man was still following him around.

"Mr. Clinton Are you not hungry, Why don't you let me serve you personally at my office ?"

Clinton politely turned down his request. "No. I have other matters to attend to. You can invite your staff members instead."

He went to the elevator and descended several levels before he reached the second floor where Sandra was having her party.

...

Inside the building, Sandra kept on checking the door waiting for Clinton to show up, but he never did. She was worried, since they had moved the party to a VIP room which is level four of the building, Clinton might not be able to get there.

Seeing how Sandra kept on looking at the door, Akira asked her. "Are you still waiting for that worthless boy?"

"He is not worthless." Sandra snapped "He is also a human. Tell me, how would you feel if you were poor little Clinton, and all your friends belittle you?"

"Hahaha, me? poor never? Even if I was born poor I don't think I would be so miserable like Clinton" Akira sneered.

As the two girls were taking to each other, A very tall lanky and handsome boy came to them. "Hi Sandra?"

"My name is Stephen. Nice to meet you" Stephen shoke his wrist slightly displaying the golden wrist watch on his hands.

Sandra took a look at the boy and frown. She didn't greet him back, making Stephen hands left stranded in the air.

Feeling ashamed, he placed his hand back where it belong and walked away.

"Sandra what was that? Do you know who he is? His father is the manager of this hotel, he is rich" Akira praised.

"What If he is rich? He doesn't look like an honest person to me. Didn't you see how he was showing off his golden watch?"

But Akira thought differently."Whatever, don't be too judgemental when choosing a boyfriend"

***

Clinton had arrived at the second floor but didn't see any party going there. He thought of calling his friends to varify, but when he called Jimmy, his phone was off for some reason.

He tried calling Sandra but no one answered the call.

With the box of bracelet in his hands, Clinton didn't know whether to go back to the University or not, just then the sound of a laughter reached his ears.

"Haha, Sanderson you are so generous. How did you manage to book a VIP room for Sandra?"

"Oh nothing, I just pulled some few strings. Nothing much" Sanderson smiled as he held on to Xavier's waist.

As she was saying this, she saw Clinton standing all by himself and snickered. "You are so well connected. Not like someone I know from my past, who only knows how to sing love poems but can't even buy food to eat"

" Haha, Xavier, why are you bringing that pimp up again. He doesn't deserve your attention." Sanderson laughed faintly, he also saw Clinton standing all alone at the corridor.

"Hey, loser! You came to the party as well?"

Clinton looked at them without saying a word, he just smiled at them.

"He must have been lost, look at him, he so messed up after you dumb him." Sanderson teased. "Xavier, why don't you go first, I will advise this country pumpkin"

Xavier practically kissed Sanderson on his cheeks thinking, she was adding more salt to Clinton's wounds. "Okay, don't take too long" She snickered and left.

When it was left with the two of them, Sanderson walked to him and placed his hands on Clinton's shoulders. "Look, I know you love that girl, that's why I must advice you, stop thinking of getting back to her, because she is mine. Not only is she my girlfriend, but she is madly head over heels for me."

"Okay" Clinton stared at him and said only that word.

"Hey, Don't act tough on me. You know I only proposed to her for an hour and she accepted to have sex with me that night?"

Upon hearing that from Sanderson, Clinton's heart pounded in his chest and his face grew pale.

He couldn't believe that Xavier had stooped so low. He had once held some expectations for her, but upon discovering that she was nothing more than a golddigger, all his hopes for her vanished.

"Haha, you surprised? You should be. Because with money I can get every girl that I like. So get some money. "

"You think money is everything?" Clinton asked in annoyance.

"Offcourse? Not only is it everything, but it gets you whatever that you want. Like getting some one like yourself to kneel infront of me right now" He dropped a hundred dollar note on the floor.

"Kneel before me and I will give you another one. Haha."

Clinton placed his hand on his forehead in disbelief, trying to process what he had just heard, "You are just making fun of yourself with your small fortune,"

"Hahaha. I will leave you for now." Sanderson kept on laughing before he entered the elevator to the VIP section where the party was being held.

So it means, if Xavier finds out he was the heir for the Wayne family, she would come chasing after him too?
