The punishment of the Academy was anything but light.

For the wastage of resources, one would be required to work in the mines alongside other criminals of the tower.

That’s already enough to let you understand how terrible it is to fail.

Of course, unlike the criminals, one would be allowed to return home after five years of active service but them again, when placed in the midst of terrible evil doers, the likelihood of coming out with no problems is close to zero.

Hopefully I’d never experience such a thing.

Then again, if you passed, that would mean you qualify for the rite of passage.

Apparently, the rite of passage is also quite dangerous with more than half of those that go through it, coming out with a mental illness.

One of the reasons why the Academy has a very good hospital and also why new recruits are questioned about their mental history.

I guess it wasn’t completely useless information.

In any case, I looked forward to the ceremony.

It would really be an eye opener.
