“System explain” Mave said rather than thought as he asked the system about what had just transpired. 

“”The red fog as you call it is actually energy from the monster world that managed to leak through as the world merge occurred. The energy is a prerequisite for the activation of what you humans call ‘talent’ and this energy drives the monsters like a power source.”” The system explained..

‘so how does that have to do with you or the ring?’ he asked curiously

“”The only thing I can tell you for now is that, the ring just absorbed the energy around the vicinity before it dispersed.  You should prepare yourself now, the energy that dispersed will be absorbed by low level monsters and they will soon awaken””

“hmm” Mave sighed as he rested, understanding just some of what the system had told him.

He recalled that last time the red fog occurred and dispersed, hours later and their was reports of outbreaks of strange creatures appearing all over the world and afterwards there was an awakening as some people on earth gained some abilities that they called talents and used it to fight back. 

“”Now I should get you started with a few things, I told you I was to help you, didn’t I. Now get up. “” the system said to Jung and then Mave listened and then stood up awaiting further instructions.

‘what next’

“”Now the ring have recovered some of  it’s energy, I can be able to help you more. Now focus your gaze at the top left and tell me what you see.”” The system said.

Mave paid close attention to what was said and saw ‘Maverick, E class level 6’ and he repeated it to the system. 

“”Good, now that’s your level. The more you gain experience and complete your missions, your level will increase and you will get stronger.”” 

“wow, so basically this tells me my strength like a video game?” Mave said I. Surprise. 

“”yes,  now focus on your name and level again”” the system instructed and Mave did so and when he did, the status window expanded and revealed more of his stats, stats like HP, ENERGY, physical stats like Strength, Agility, speed,etc giving a more concise detail of his present level and the discovery made Mave even more surprised, because last time he did not have this kind of help and as someone that played games he knew how helpful this information can be.

But Mave was disappointed at this present level and stats though. They were basically the basics of the basics,  very weak even. 

Before Maverick could say anything about his stats and level, the system gave Mave another instruction.

“”Now I want you to look down from the roof and focus on any living thing and tell me what you see?”” 

Mave moved closer to the ledge and saw people moving, he focused on one of them, a man walking his dog and immediately he did so, a status window opened close to the person and he saw ‘Human, E class, level 2’. Mave moved his face to the dog and focused on it and the same thing happened, he saw ‘Dog, F class level 1’ , he moved his eyes to another person and it read ‘Human, level 3’ and Mave gasped in surprise, already thinking of the possibilities of what he could achieve with this. 

‘with this I can know the level of my opponents and monsters and determine their strengths in respect to mine. This is really helpful.’ Mave said as he smiled already excited to make use of the new buff he had. 

“system, why is it that I’m just seeing this now, why didn’t I see it in my past life or earlier when I wore the ring?”

“”You did not have me nor the ring in your past life and you couldn’t see it earlier because the ring was yet to replenish its energy, but after absorbing some from the atmosphere earlier, it was able to acquire a significant amount of energy to enable you view it at the moment.”” The system said. 

“I see, so I can see more or have more perks if the ring gets more energy?” Mave asked curiously.

“”more or less, but as for now this is what you can see. Before I forget,  focus your eyes at your lower left and tell me what you see.””

Maverick did as he was told and another window pop up, Skills and Talent category.  Under skill, Mave could only see two skills there ‘enhanced strike’ and ‘Enhanced action’  but under the talent category, there was nothing there, since he was yet to awaken his talent yet. 

Mave was once again awed at what he saw. He was familiar with the skills from his past life , but he had to work his ass off for them, only earning it days after he awakened his talent, but this time around he just got it immediately and he suspected it was courtesy of the ring and the system. 

‘seems you really will be of great help to me, System.’

“”Of course,  that is why I am here. Now you know the basic stuff to help you survive better than you did last time. You just have to utilize them all well with my guidance, and you will do exceptionally well.”” The system said to Mave. 

Maverick smiled, knowing that this time, he was going to do much more than he had done before.
