He walked home through the quiet streets. It was 6:30am in the morning, yet the streets of new Orleans were as busy as it could be.
The cold breeze touched his skin, and he jogged down the streets .On the huge screen of the city were the famous e-sports stars. The Great Seven were famous in their small city.Everyone had developed an addiction to the G.A.P game. He really knew little about the game, but the most famous player was Leax. She was a small, frail girl who most guys found cute and was the best player on the team.Although they appeared to be a regular team, there were rumours about them, about them being heros in a parallel universe, like gods or something in another universe. He wasn't one to gossip, so he paid little attention to those rumors. The weekend was everyone's favorite day of the week, but not more than Xorn's. He stopped at the early morning cafe, grabbing two cups to go.He jogged the entire street. He loved the streets of New Orleans. It always smelled like cigars and cats, note the sarcasm. The sun was rising, and he stopped at his girlfriend's house. She was at the window.Wearing those glasses he likes so much in a cute lemon bra. "Didi," he waved, and she waved back. He climbed up to her window, kissing her. "I got you coffee.""Awww thanks babe," she kissed him back. "I love you.""I love you too, cupcake." he winked, inhaling her dandelion scent and kissing her neck."See you at dinner?" he said, jumping back down the window and jogging backwards."See you there," she winked back.He was introducing her to his parents today. She smiled at him, tossing her messy blonde ponytail over her shoulder.Perfect. His life was perfect with that smile of hers.Later that day.He took a quick shower since he had one earlier. He stepped out of the bathroom. When his phone rang.Taking the call, he toweled his wet hair. "Hello mum.""When are you bringing my daughter-in-law over?" his mom questioned, and he chuckled.Something moved behind him. He turned around but saw nothing. He could have sworn he saw something there. Maybe he imagined it?"Xorn?" his mom called his name."Yeah, I'm bringing her home today. I hope you have everything ready. This engagement has to be the perfect surprise," he said. Smiling, it was probably a bug or something he thought."I can't wait to meet her, and yes, everything is ready. I invited a few guests. Josh is coming too." His mom squealed, ending the call.He looked at himself in the mirror for a moment, then walked over to his bed. Thinking he might imagine things, he turned to exit the room only to come face to face with a small, frail blonde girl in his room."Holy mother oh! God, you freaking scared me!" he exclaimed, clutching his chest."Congratulations, you've been chosen." She smiled at him like she didn't just scare the bones out of him."Um okay. Great, who are you again and what are you doing in my house?" He asked impatiently. She poked at his abs with her finger and he slapped her fingers away. "Oh, nice abs," she giggled. She walked around his room without answering him and he couldn't chase her since he was still in a towel."Hello! who are you?" He asked again as she opened his drawers searching for god knows what."The world is ending today," she said with a brilliant smile on her pale face."What?" Xorn questioned, walking up into his walk-in closet and throwing on the first shirt he could find since she wasn't planning on leaving. She sprawled on his bed, her blonde hair spilling over his sheets with such a long mane like an anime character. Now that he thought of it, she looked familiar. "The world is ending today. The monsters are going to attack by dawn. They're going to annihilate half humanity unless we stop them."He struggled to put on his pants while holding his towel, listening to the gibberish she was speaking. "Right, monsters. Right, and so what does some monster have to do with me?""They have sent me to recruit you for the Gods Annihilation Program G.A. P for mages who trained to end the existence of gods through training and cultivating magic." She said simply."G.A. P? isn't it that popular game everyone is playing..." he finally realized where he recognized her from "Your Leax Dracon." he gasped in realization. "Holy shit, you're like freaking famous.""Yeah, yeah, and we need you on the team." She stated simply."But I've never played before," he replied, putting on his shoes and checking his watch. He was running late!Leax sat up. "Forget the game. I'm serious. This isn't a joke, Xorn we need you."Xorn arched a questioning brow. "How the heck do you know my name?"Leax sighed in frustration. "That's not important!"He clapped his hands together.Grabbing his wallet, he patiently spoke to her "Okay, so um I'm really busy today, I can see that you're lost. I'm going to assume that you got into my house by mistake, so I don't have to call the cops. If you need a ride home, I can take you home." He said as nicely as possible, spraying on some deodorant.Leax stood up, annoyed with his nonchalance. "People are going to die, Xorn."Xorn frowned, "Look, I don't know you. I know nothing about games. I don't know how to heck you got into my house, how on earth you know my name or what the heck you're even talking about, so please stress me less and just do as I say."Her lips pressed into a thin, hard line of stubbornness etched into those blonde brows. "I'm calling 911"She snatched his phone. "No. I'm good. You can attend your proposal since it's more important to you than the wellbeing of humanity.""Thank you for understanding," he sighed gratefully, grabbing his car keys. She followed him, getting into the car with him. "Do you have to follow me? Don't you have like a home to go back to?"She shook her head. "I can't go back without you."He frowned with annoyance. "Suite yourself."He started his car, driving over to his parents' house. The rooftop was already well decorated with balloons and rose petals, all in burgundy, Diors favorite color. He parked the car, turning to face Leax. "No matter what you do, stay in the car."She said nothing. "Monsters, mages, gods, demons are all real and they are coming to end the world. Watch out."And he got down, standing at her window. She handed him a card. "If you need me, call. This number." with that, she vanished. She freaking vanished. He chose not to panic. Today was a good day for him. He shoved the card in his pocket and went into his parent's house. The whole event was going smoothly. His parents welcomed him with a warm hug.It overjoyed his mother to see him. "Oh, that's my son. " His mother hugged him tightly. His father patted his back. "It's great to see you settle down, son."Everyone was happy for him and finally. The hour came, his bride walked in dressed in the prettiest burgundy silk dress. Her black hair is in a French twist. She was stunning; she took his breath away. The moment she stepped in the violin's sound playing, Lana del Rey filled the room.He walked up to her slowly, and her face had the loveliest smile. Her eyes sparkling with tears. He went on one knee, and she chuckled, holding back happy tears."Since the moment I set my eyes on you, Dior. I have loved you. The past five years of my life have been my happiest. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you. Would you marry me Dior?"A wide smile threatened to tear her cheeks as her mouth slowly said the word yes.Perfect. Everything was perfect as he fitted the ring on her finger. Then the lights appeared in the sky, like a spotlight from the heavens. She looked like an angel. Her skin was white as the moon, her head in his hands, her blood on his face.As the beams of light, rays spilt her body in two.Her smile was still on her lips. The ring in his hand. Her feet were still on the ground, but her head was in his hands. He couldn't breathe. It was raining lights. He could hear screams from every direction."Help.... someone help...." his mother ran to him. Shaking the inhaler, she helped him. He took two puffs. Taking deep breaths. Tears poured from his eyes. It was agony. Unending agony, pain from so long ago ripped him to shreds while lights kept crashing from the sky in their thousands.Buildings exploded while he convulsed. His mother held him close. His father kept searching for something. Meanwhile, there was an earthquake. The earth shook so fiercely it threatened to swallow the building whole. "It's okay, you're fine Xorn." he took deep breaths, his blurry vision finally clearing up.It was a dream. He suddenly sat up, jumping out of his mother's arms as he looked outside. It was slightly dark, checking his watch. It was 6:00pm."What happened? Where's Dior? we were..." His mother gently stood up from the bed. "You had a bad dream, Xorn and that triggered your asthma." "A bad dream?
"Pardon my lateness." Xorn looked left and right, wondering to whom he was referring to.There was no one else standing, but him dressed in khakis and a t-shirt. He looked misplaced in the room filled with mysterious beings."Are you talking to me?" he questioned, pointing at himself."Yes, you are the god destroyer?" the silver being asked."I am?" he replied the question with one of his own."He is." Leax said with a mischievous grin. The pressure in the room was becoming heavier. "You didn't tell him!" The beautiful lady asked, annoyance in her lovely voice.Leax shrugged. "It's more fun this way, Grain." Grain fumed, and green vein grew on the walls. "On a day as important as this! You had fifteen years to tell him. What can a mere mortal with zero cultivation do in war against gods and monsters?" Leax floated upside down. "I don't know. If his really the Lex Acrons son then he'll figure something out, I was busy okay. My realm has been in conflict for a while." They talked ab
His parent's house was sinking. It cracked into two and tilted. Xorn held unto Dior for dear life as the building sunk and they slide off the roof.He grabbed onto the railing of the building before they could fall. Screams came from all directions. Of the building, the people in the building couldn't get out.He held on to her and her arms wrapped around his shoulders like a second skin. "Don't let go," he pleaded. And she nodded "I won't.""I know this is a bad time to ask, but I just can't understand Why won't you marry me? Did I do something wrong?""No" "Have I not been good to you?" "No!""Do I suck in the bed department?""Definitely not!" She exclaimed, and he blew out a breath of relief."So why?" Her perfect eyes met his. Sadness and sorrow filled their brown orbs. "I went to the hospital earlier today. The doctor said, I can't have children." He sucked in a sharp breath, the shock of what she said hitting him with full force.Gaia spoke again. "Heavenly lights of deat
"Welcome." Leax said with a broad smile as they got to the beach where a large ship sat with thousands of people going on broad. Most of them injured missing a limb or two.It was so awful children crying, missing a parent or both. He felt sick seeing so many people trying to escape to the next city.Xorn sighed in relief as he saw her, but cringed when he saw the blood on her outfit.A creepy blood thirsty smile on her lips, he instinctively held on to Diors hand and Dior clutched his hand as well. "Hi Xorn where have you been?" "Who is she?" Dior asked, whispering only to Xorn's hearing."Someone who will help us," he assured lightly caressing her palm.He saw the flicker of doubt in her eyes, then cupped her face with his hands. "I know you're confused and you have a lot of questions, but I promise I'm going to explain everything to you," he assured her.She gave him a weak smile. "Okay. " He kissed her, holding her in his arms for a while. He was so glad she was okay. He inhale
Her eyes bewitched them, putting them under her hypnotic spell. "If you love me. You will drown for me." Instantly, men were jumping off the ship, into the ocean. Xorn had to hold Dior from jumping overboard.Josh was walking towards the woman on the squid and his parents as well. They all walked like zombies. He didn't know what to do. He didn't even know why he himself wasn't hypnotized. Her song was music to his ears, it was too pleasant to the ears. He had to do something.Josh was standing at the edge of the ship, about to go overboard. "Stop what you're doing, you fish face!" he yelled, grabbing the attention of the woman."Oh, someone isn't under my spell. How fascinating." She chuckled. "Well, if I can't make you drown, I might as well crush you to death." She cackled and the tentacles of the massive beast grabbed him off the ship. All the humans seemed to have snapped out of it and were climbing back on board the ship. Thankfully, his distraction had worked, but now her bea
He woke up with a start. "Dior!" her name was the first thing on his lips as he opened his eyes.Looking around, nothing looked familiar, which scared him a lot. Everything was smooth wood and vines. Even the bed he lay on was made of leaves. On the table lay knives and daggers. Quickly, he picked it up.Not that he could use it to kill a god, though, looking out the window. Wherever he was, was incredibly beautiful.Giant flowers sprouted from the ground below.People or something that looks like people trooped in and other of the flowers. They were tiny, or he was probably high in the air. The trees were rich and green, the sky clear and bright.Josh? Where was josh? his parents are they...The door made a sound, and he turned, reaching for the box in his pocket.Grain appeared in the doorway with a strange woman who looked just like her, clad in green and brown attire. Her eyes strange combined black and green. She didn't walk. She levitated like it was second nature for her not to
"We have to get out of here." Grain grabbed his wrist, pulling him along. They ran through a large hallway on a carpet of red roses. It had large painted windows and golden chandeliers. It was an enchanting palace.Statues of faeries hanging everywhere. With water pouring from their lips. Grain threw a large door down. Shocking coming from a girl her size, the roof was burning down.At the end of the large room, filled with creeping trees, was a large throne. Made of gold, covering it were a million vines. With strange flowers made of crystals. Grain walked in. "Come on, don't gloat." He moved like a ghost, fascinated by the beauty of the room. In the room, Grain seemed to radiate a whole different aura.A sweet-smelling aroma came from the candles floating in thin air. It smelt so good.Suddenly, Grain wrapped a thin piece of clothing around his nose. "Careful, that sweet aroma will dull your senses."She clapped and the golden throne which was about 15ft high. Opened up, revea
He gasped awake, sitting up; he was in a round transparent ball. Déjà vu? what happened? Where was he? The place was white, very white, no trace of microorganisms to be seen. He wasn't the only ball hanging in the air opposite his Leax, along with Grand, Nero, Grain, Ignis, and zephyr sat in a monk position. Their hands are in different symbols.Floating in the ball, different colors of lights surrounded them. They were cultivating. He walked to the surface of the ball and looked down. Below, a couple of people, about 200 people, sat facing computers busily typing away.Josh among them looking as healthy and alive as ever.Xorn was confused. "Josh! Josh!" he called, knocking on the glass and he looked up, a devilish look he had never seen before in his eyes. "What's going on josh?" He was yelling, yet no one seemed to notice him except josh, who stepped on something that flew high in the air.Josh smiled at him. But Xorn wasn't liking any of this one bit. He tapped the earpiece in h
