Chapter 4: The welcoming

He couldn't breathe.

It was raining lights. He could hear screams from every direction.

"Help.... someone help...." his mother ran to him.

Shaking the inhaler, she helped him. He took two puffs.

Taking deep breaths. Tears poured from his eyes. It was agony.

Unending agony, pain from so long ago ripped him to shreds while lights kept crashing from the sky in their thousands.

Buildings exploded while he convulsed.

His mother held him close. His father kept searching for something. Meanwhile, there was an earthquake.

The earth shook so fiercely it threatened to swallow the building whole.

"It's okay, you're fine Xorn." he took deep breaths, his blurry vision finally clearing up.

It was a dream.

He suddenly sat up, jumping out of his mother's arms as he looked outside.

It was slightly dark, checking his watch. It was 6:00pm.

"What happened? Where's Dior? we were..."

His mother gently stood up from the bed. "You had a bad dream, Xorn and that triggered your asthma."

"A bad dream? But I was at the engagement party and I purposed to Dior and .... and..." His hands shook as he stared at his palm. "I lost her."

His mother sighed, walking over to him. She held his face in her palm.

"I called you this afternoon we talking and the next thing I knew you were quiet on the phone. You passed out. I ran as fast as I could." She gently took his palm. "I know you're nervous, but that's okay. Everything will be fine."

Gretel, his mother, was a nice lady. He didn't have any memories of his childhood since he was ten. She said she and Mark, her husband, found him on their doorstep and took him in.

For that, he was grateful. "I know you're nervous, but I just want to say everything will be fine." She smiled sweetly at him and forced a smile, too. "Now get dressed don't want to be late for your own engagement party."

Wait, his engagement party was today. The blood drained from his face. The blonde girl, he had to find the blonde girl in his dream.

His mother left the house, he saw off from the front door "Don't be late." She warned, waving at him and getting in her car and he waved back at her.

It's been ten years since had an asthma attack. The last time he had one on was when he was twelve. He had a nightmare, his dog die and surely his dog die the following week.

He had to find Leax.

He left the house, getting into his Cadillac. He drove to the e-sports gaming headquarters.

The place was quite busy at 6pm in the evening.

He had an hour until his engagement party. He had an hour to save the love of his life.

He walked into the large building.

The walls filled with glowing motions, pictures of the Great Seven. There was a receptionist. He walked up to her desk. "Hi, I'm looking for Leax Dracon."

The middle-aged woman with a crown of woven flowers on her short strawberry blonde hair glared at him through red-rimmed glasses.

"And who's asking?"

"Xorn, Xorn Lex"

"Never heard of a Xorn Lex." she said passively, turning her attention back to her monitor "If you're a fan, come back on Tuesday to book a meeting."

"No, I'm not a fan I need her help, please.," he pleaded desperately.

The woman chewed her gum. "You can't find help here, young man."

Xorn slammed his hands on her desk. "I need to find Leax. If I don't do something, my girlfriend will die! Everyone will die! I can't let that happen."

"Let him in Dora." A deep male voice said, walking in from the door.

He was dressed weirdly in a white robe. His face was half covered with a thin piece of white clothing.

Two swords crossed at his back. Green bright eyes peeked from the olive skin. It was the only part of him Xorn could see.

"Oh, Grand you're here." the receptionist who's supposed name was Dora greeted the man.

He was one of the great Seven players. He headed for a wall and Xorn stared at him, slightly startled. "Well, are you going to follow or you're just going to keep standing there?" he asked Xorn tilting his head over his shoulder.

Xorn walked over to him when the wall suddenly split open and his eyes nearly left his sockets.

"Follow close behind or you might die." Grand warned.

He didn't hesitate as he followed him.

They were in a vortex, or it looked like a vortex of blackness and nothingness filled it. It terrified him.

The creeping loneliness in the void was enclosing around him, constricting his air flow. It choked him until he couldn't breathe.

The darkness seemed not to end, but soon it ended and they stood in a room made of glasses which rotated floating in the middle of nowhere and nothing..

He was in space. He was in freaking space! several planets surrounded the glass they appeared in.

He struggled to catch his breath from the tightness in his chest.

There were people already sitting around a large round table.

They all looked mysterious and dangerous.

Leax was among them, legs crossed, dressed in a pink and gold. She floated in thin air, her blonde hair surrounding her like a cloak, her skin glowed and on her head sat a crown of glass.

She opened her eyes, and he almost had a heart attack. Her eyes were endless pools of pink and gold pieces of glass surrounded her in different shapes.

The gravity of what he was seeing made him gasp for air. It was too much for him.

"Leax, stop that you're giving him a fright. He has a weak heart."

A soft voice called his attention.

Her voice was soft, so soft, like a song it soothed his heart and he could finally breathe.

She had midnight black hair with skin that could compete with the moon in brightness, her hair filled with vines and leaves.

Green glowing beads in the beautiful long weaves. "Hi, I'm Grain" she waved.

A green veil hid most of her face, adorned with gold jewelry and thick black lashes framed by golden eyes.

She was magnificent in beauty.

He stood upright while Grand took his seat.

A portal opened at the head of the table and a

being walked through clad in gold and white robes.

The pressure in the room was overwhelming. He could feel his aura, his presence. As he took his seat at the end of the table.

His hair was a mane of gold, pouring over huge shoulders. His thick silver lashes framed terrifying sliver eyes.

"Welcome destroyer of gods."
