chapter 5: Annihilation of the human race

"Pardon my lateness."

Xorn looked left and right, wondering to whom he was referring to.

There was no one else standing, but him dressed in khakis and a t-shirt. He looked misplaced in the room filled with mysterious beings.

"Are you talking to me?" he questioned, pointing at himself.

"Yes, you are the god destroyer?" the silver being asked.

"I am?" he replied the question with one of his own.

"He is." Leax said with a mischievous grin.

The pressure in the room was becoming heavier. "You didn't tell him!" The beautiful lady asked, annoyance in her lovely voice.

Leax shrugged. "It's more fun this way, Grain."

Grain fumed, and green vein grew on the walls. "On a day as important as this! You had fifteen years to tell him. What can a mere mortal with zero cultivation do in war against gods and monsters?"

Leax floated upside down. "I don't know. If his really the Lex Acrons son then he'll figure something out, I was busy okay. My realm has been in conflict for a while."

They talked about him like he wasn't present. "Okay, um, all this is great news and all, but I came here to speak to Leax about a nightmare I had, so yeah."

Leax sat down now, deep concentration set in her scary eyes. "What happened?"

"My girlfriend died. I can't let that happen." His finger nails bit into his palm.

The room was quiet. No one said anything. "Say something. How can we stop this apocalypse or something?"

"That's what led you to me?" Leax asked.

"Yes, and I have to save her." He said desperately.

She shook her head. "We can't. We can only save as many as we can." Leax explained.

Xorn frowned, "What do you mean you can't? We can't just let people die."

"People will die. People will always die, Lex Acron the evil god is coming for his revenge and he must stop him." Leax spoke. Her lips trembled. "But we can't."

"Why?" he asked and Grand let out a laugh.

Which irritated Xorn "What's funny?"

"You. Do you know who Lex Acron is? his the all powerful evil god. No one can stop him."

"Except you." Grain said, hope in her voice.

Xorn placed a palm on his forehead "I thought y'all were regular e-sports player?"

"We are. We are the famous great seven. It's our part-time job." A girl with flaming hair and purple eyes in a very revealing outfit like a bodysuit, which was skin tight matching the color of her eyes, spoke. "I'm Ignis. How you doing, handsome?"

"So, what are you guys?"

"Mages. We cultivate magic." A man dressed in all black with grey and brown hair eating nuts from a plate suspended in air spoke.

He was dangerous, he could tell.

"We don't have time to get you through the basics. We only have 30minutes before the destruction of the earth happens. You should go home and act as if nothing happened. Here will take care of the rest," the man with silver eyes spoke.

"I'm Nero and that guy with the dark aura is zephyr." He introduced himself politely.

It really contrasted with his whole godlike appearance.

Xorn shook his head in disbelief. "I'm meant go home and pretend like nothing happened?"

Leax stood up, walking over to him with a box in hand. "If you need help, use this." she gave him the box, and he opened it.

A black orb lay inside. It looked decayed, and within it were sparks, purple sparks, tiny glowing threads around it woven in an artistic form it was dead but alive.

"What is it?" he asked curiously.

"It will help you release your powers for a moment, but don't push too much. You might die if you can't handle it. If you can't handle it." She scribbled her number on a piece of paper.

"Call me," she said, a cautious look on her face.

"Don't overdo it. The power can be overwhelming and you might get tempted, but do not and I repeat, do not listen to it. You have no cultivation, I can assure you. You will die." She was serious.

He nodded. "Now go."

He appeared in his house moments later. Goosebumps appeared all over his skin. It was creepy beyond measure. "She has to warn me before doing that." he ran to the bathroom throwing up.

Dressing up for the engagement was wrecking his nerves, knowing what would happen was taking a toll on him.

He felt sick to his stomach. He wanted to cancel, but he worked so hard. He really wanted to marry Dior and make babies with her.

Go to Canada and build a little house with a farm. They wanted a simply life couldn't he just have that simple life with her. His hands shook as he adjusted his tie.

Looking at himself in the mirror in the suit she bought him for Christmas, He sighed putting the box Leax gave him in his pocket.

He arrived at his parents' house. The roof was glowing with lights and burgundy.

The rooftop was filled with people all familiar faces, friends, and family.

His childhood friend Josh walked towards him as soon as he came up the stairs.

"I'm happy for you men. You're finally taking that bold step, leaving the bachelor's club." Josh said, tapping his shoulder. and Xorn smiled.

"What can I say? I can't live without Dior."

His mother came over, giving him a tight hug. "I'm so proud of you. You know we love Dior. She will make a fine bride." His mother beamed.

His father handed him a glass of wine. "I'm proud of you, son. You've made the right choice."

He smiled shyly. "Thank you, father."

"I guess we should expect a little one soon." His mother winked, and Xorn chuckled.

"She hasn't even said yes, mom," he said, sipping his wine when she appeared up the stairs.

Dressed even more beautiful than ever, even in his dream. His body moved on his own and he took her in his arm, spinning her in the air. "You are so lovely, Dior."

Dior giggled. "Really? This place looks so nice. What's the occasion?" She asked in between his feverish kisses.

"Our engagement," he said simply, and her eyes widened.

Before he could take his box out of his pockets, the lights went off.

She clutched his arm. "Xorn." She called, and he

held her close.

"Yes, my love?" he whispered. "Don't be scared I'm here."

"I can't marry you." The words hurt like acid in his ears and the earth shook as mysterious beings appeared before the moon.

A thousand beasts dressed in armor without helmets. With a head like a flame of white light stood suspended in midair.

A lady with long white hair flying in the sky, eyes red as blood covered by a red robe and a long sword in her hand, spoke. Her voice was a speaker of its own, and the entire world could hear as she spoke.

"I am Gaia, the earthquake, by order of the great god of evil, Lex Acron. I declare the elimination of humans, earth swallow."

The earth opened its belly, and everything on its surface sank.
