CHAPTER 2

"This is Martins Collins, he is my friend from back in college." Linda enunciated.

"You mean to say you called your friend from college to come visit you in a hospital while I give out blood to your mother?" Adrian inquired still not getting the whole friendship stuff.

"We met by coincidence, okay? Why are you so worked up?" Linda asked, frowning.

"Why wouldn't I be? You are flirting with him, in a place you know I am in." Adrian blurted out.

"I already told you, he is just my friend from college." She replied.

Somehow, Adrian McCain knew that his wife was lying to him, he knew it in his guts and he wasn't going to stand for this.

He loves her too much to want to share her with someone not to talk more of her college friend.

"Don't lie to me Linda, I know when you are lying."

Linda who was already getting tired of being questioned yelled out,

"Enough!! Why do I have to explain anything to you? You have no rights whatsoever to ask me such okay? You are nothing but a worthless man, you are nothing but a stay at home son-in-law, so you have no freaking right to interfere in my life."

"I am your husband and you will show me some respect, Linda." Adrian McCain demanded.

"You don't deserve any respect coming from me, that I can assure you. Just do your thing and let me do mine, okay?" Linda enunciated.

Linda's college friend just stood there watching them without saying a word like he wasn't the cause of everything that was happening in front of him.

He stood tall and proud like a wall, watching the couple argue their lungs out.

Adrian felt sad and humiliated, because some people were now gathering trying to listen in on their conversations and it seems that they were sneering at him in particular.

Linda couldn't care less about their stares she just kept rambling on.

So in order to save face, Adrian blatantly stated,

"You know what? I am going to file for a divorce, then you and your mother can find another donor."

What he said threw Linda into a roller coaster of laughter, she immediately began laughing her lungs out.

"What's so funny, do I look like I was joking?" Adrian Mccain asked.

"Of course you are, I mean if you leave, who on earth would pay you, how will you earn cash if you are jobless, how will you be able to get those hotdogs you love so much?"

"I am damn serious about this Linda, you can't treat me like trash when in essence you need me." Adrian McCain uttered.

"Look here Adrian, you and I both know you can't divorce me. Oh yes, you can't, you love me way too much and I am the only one you've got, you need money don't you? And I am the only one who could get you that." Linda enunciated.

"I am going to look for a job, just wait for the divorce papers." Adrian said and walked away.

He felt depressed and hurt, it was like the one person he loved and married has no iota of compassion, love or kindness towards him.

Although his shoulders weren't bent outwardly and his head held high, but inwardly, it was bent.

He then realized that all the years he spent with his wife was a waste, he had sacrificed for her, but it wasn't at all appreciated.

He wanted to look for a job but Linda was right, he hasn't worked nor applied for a job for three(3) years and no company will take his C.V (Curriculum Vitae)

'I can't believe you took my love for granted Linda, after everything I did for you, you just took me as a blood bag for your mother, a blood machine.' He thought as he walked closer to the gate.

Just when he approached the gate, he saw the same man who Linda called her friend from college riding quite a luxurious car also heading out the gate, but instead of driving away, he parked in front of him and alighted from the car and began to make fun of him.

The once seemed gentle man became the opposite of what he had portrayed earlier while he was with Linda.

When Linda was around, he was so quiet, he didn't say a word neither did he attempt to, but now the seemingly quiet, humble man became proud, arrogant and ambiguous and so full of himself.

"It's you isn't it? The husband of Linda Pierre. I mean how can you hope to keep such a woman? She is too beautiful, educated and sophisticated for the likes of you. She isn't supposed to be with you at all." Martins uttered.

"What business do you have with the issues of my family? You shouldn't poke your nose into things that do not concern you." Adrian retorted.

"Oh please, how can you call yourself a man? You don't work, you don't provide for your wife, neither can you afford a meal or go on a date with her. That is so disgusting and unheard of." He replied.

"I will not watch you insult me any further."

"Only an unreasonable person would see this as an insult. Anyways what should I expect from someone who works or finds profit from selling their blood by themselves with no iota of shame." Martins uttered.

Adrian wasn't at all interested in what he had to say anymore so he lashed out.

"Look here dimwit, I don't have time for this right now." Adrian boldly said.

"Right, you want to go find a job or something to support yourself, you feel depressed with what was said to you by your own wife…" He then continued; "well if you know what's good for you, you see that threat you threatened Linda about filing for a divorce, you should carry it out. Because you are nothing but a loser who makes money from selling your blood, so shameful."

Right then and there Adrian McCain lost his cool, he wanted nothing but to punch him in the guts since they were just close to a hospital so he could go get treated.

His fist tightened into a ball, he couldn't hold it anymore, but then he felt it was all his fault for having loved someone and yet not be appreciated by them so, he did what he should have done, he walked away.

But as he did this, he was being sneered and made fun of by him even more.

"What a loser… nothing to show for it, blood bag.*Martins spits* disgusting." Martins laughed out loud as Adrian McCain walked away and stopped a cab headed home.

'I can't wait for you all to regret everything that you have done, I did what I did for love, but Linda you clearly don't love me nor value my imputes, so I will prove to you that I can get a job, maybe you'll love me more then.' He thought.

Adrian McCain wanted nothing more but to put all of his adversaries to shame, most especially this so-called friend of his wife.

He is someone who once they put their minds into something, they will go through extra miles to get it.

So he got home and dusted his CV with hope and determination to get one so as not to offend his wife and to make her proud of him.
