“What?!” Came Jasper's angry voice.

His face immediately turned into a deep frown, and then his eyebrows immediately shot up.

“That's impossible! How can it be purchased when I'm this close to paying?”

“I'm sorry, but—”

“Don't be sorry and let me buy the car!” He yelled, cutting off the manager's words.

“I'll have to apologize again, because someone already bought the car.”

The manager's demeanor suddenly turned cold, his voice chillingly firm.. Jasper noticed the change and instinctively took a step back.

His hands were clasped together in front of him, his lips pressed into a tight line.

Dark, piercing eyes bored into Jasper, radiating the aura of a notorious bodyguard capable of snapping a person's head off with a single touch.

The intensity of his gaze was so much that it sent a wave of goosebumps across Jasper's skin.

He was shocked! Just a minute ago, the manager had been friendly. He was the one who called him about the new release, so why the sudden shift?

Why did he suddenly become cold towards him? Why did he call him if he knew he was going to sell it to someone else after making him go through the stress of coming here?

He didn't know the answer to all these questions, but he was definitely sure of one thing.

He needed to thread carefully. He didn't want to antagonize him, thereby incurring his wrath.

He had heard stories about the kind of work this man did before turning a new leaf.

“Look, Palo…” Jasper called, his voice subconsciously low. “I don't know why you're doing this but—”

“There are numerous cars here,” Palo cut him off, his lips turning into a forced smile that Jasper found even more scary. “You can choose from them.”

“B-but I want that.” Using all his courage in this world, Jasper insisted, despite being scared out of his wits, pointing at the red Ferrari.

The car gleamed under the morning sun, its surface catching the light in a dazzling shimmer.

“Do I need to repeat myself?” Palo’s voice dangerously dropped to an octave. “Choose. Another. Car.”

Jasper flinched from how raw he sounded. “Okay,” he paused, licking his lips. “Just tell me who bought the car and…and I'll just purchase another.”

“No.”

What! Just a curt answer?

Damn it! He was frustrated and angry. Especially when he recalls how he was going to receive the Lord treatment in school.

He had dreamt about this day, he had seen paradise, and yet, he couldn't enter into it.

What was this? And who could have the nerve to buy a car he wanted? By his sides, Jasper hands balled into tight fists!

If only Palo could just tell him! Then… the he would just–

“Are you purchasing another one or not?” Palo's deep voice snapped him out of his reverie. “Certainly, you don't assume you're the only client I have, do you?”

“No,” Jasper shook his head.”

“Then you can be on your way.”

“But…”

One look from Palo immediately shuts Jasper up, his legs instinctively taking a route towards the door.

Even though his father belonged to one of the most influential families, he wouldn't dare cross Palo.

Aside from ourchaycars—since Palo sold the best—his father has strictly warned him to stay away.

Even his father, despite his power, was wary of Palo and constantly reminded him to keep his distance.

Outside, Jasper pulled out his phone and called Ethan, asking him to come and pick him up.

He had taken a cab from his house, with the thought of driving his Ferrari back, but who knew that he would still be stranded out here and pissed?

Few minutes later, the sound of an engine cut through the morning quiet, stopping just beside Jasper.

He climbed into the car, slamming the door shut with a forceful bang, taking out his frustration on the helpless vehicle.

“Chill man,” Ethan said with a furrowed brow. “What happened? Thought you'd be driving into town with your new Ferrari. What happened?” He asked, briefly glancing at Jasper before concentrating on the road again.

At the reminder, a scowl immediately appeared on Jasper's face again. On his thighs were fists that were clenched.

“The damn fool refuse to sell.” He gritted out.

“And why is that? You guys already agreed with the price and suddenly wasn't selling?” Confused, Ethan asked, glancing at him again before pressing his feet on the paddle.

“I don't know, says someone else paid for the car.”

“That's no reason to break a sweat,” Ethan teased. “You know what we do to people who crosses us.” His hands tightened around the wheel. “And moreover we take, and not the other way round.”

“But that's the thing!”

“What thing?”

“Because I don't even know this person! Palo wouldn't tell me!” Jasper said, frustration boiling over.

He had never lost in his life, never tasted defeat, and for the first time he experienced it, it was driving him to the brink of insanity!

At the same time…

{Ding!...}

{1,000 points have been added to your system…}

The system's mechanic voice echoed in Sabito's head, chiming in the moment it detected Jasper's frustration.

{Excellent work unsettling your villian. Would you like to redeem your points now?}

Sabito who was leaning on the wall, shifted into his left foot, a devilish smirk playing on his lips. “No. Keep them stored for me untill I decide otherwise.”

{Understood…}

He tapped his fingers against his arm, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. “By the way… what exactly are these points for?”

{Points can be exchanged for various enhancements, strategic advantages, and unforseen opportunities. Would you like e detailed breakdown?}

Sabito's eyes flickered with intrigue. He was still learning how to navigate this system, but one thing was certain.

He intended to master it, and what better way to do that than know these things?

He agreed, and the system immediately began listing out the benefits in a crisp, robotic tone.

{Breakdown of the point system…}

{Physical Enhancements: improve strength, speed, endurance, or agility.}

{Mental Boosters: Sharpen memory, reaction time, and strategic thinking.}

{Influence Manipulation: Slightly alter people's perceptions or nudge their decisions in your favor.}

{Item Exchange: purchase rare or exclusive items, including weapons, vehicles, or disguises.}

{Special Abilities: unlock unique skills tailored to your needs.}

{Information Access: Gain critical insights secrets or hidden truth about your enemies.}

{Fate interferance: Slightly influence events to work in your favor, within limits.}

{Points can be redeemes at any time, but use them wisely. Would you like to make a selection?}

At this moment, Sabito's jaws was nearly hitting the floor in astonishment!

He could do all these…and more?

A slow, even more sinister grin spread across his lips, eyes gleaming with dark excitement.

Which of these should he exchange the points with?

He was still weighing his options when his phone buzzed, cutting through the system's monotone.

{Incoming call from Palo.}

“Great! Time to get down to business!”
