Lost In Fog

Constantine found himself on a boundless plain, with nothing in sight around him. There was a blanket of gray fog everywhere around him, covering everything in sight and stretching far into the distance.

The fog was very heavy...

It was so thick that Constantine could not even see three feet away from himself into the distance.

"Hello!" Constantine called out into the fog.

"Anybody there?"

"Can anybody hear me? If you can answer me!"

Over and over Constantine called, but he received no response. Even when he tried to move forward in the fog, there was nothing that came to sight apart from endless soil, earth, and fog.

With the heavy fog blocking his vision, Constantine did not know where to go. He could not make any direction as he walked around blindly, hoping to find something or someone that could help him understand where he was.

Constantine was confused... he didn't know how he had ended up in this place. The last thing he remembered, he was unable to sleep, so he had stayed up in bed to think about the current trajectory of his life before moving to the balcony, determined to search for his friend Baron.

The next thing he knew, he was here, and he didn't know how that had happened.

Constantine wandered around the fog without aim. He wanted to get out of here, but without knowing how he got here in the first place, there was no way for Constantine to find his way out.

While moving around in the fog, Constantine called out constantly, hoping that somebody would hear him.

Constantine did not know for how long he had been walking, nor did he know how much time had passed since he appeared in this place. It felt like he had been walking for hours, but strangely enough, it also felt like not much time had passed.

It might be because everywhere was the same in his eyes and Constantine didn't couldn't figure out if he had actually been going in circles that time was so screwed up in his mind. All Constantine knew was that he wasn't going anywhere by just moving around and that he needed to do something. But what to do... Constantine couldn't figure it out.

Tap, tap, tap!

Suddenly, as Constantine was starting to despair over his situation, he actually heard something like somebody was walking ahead of him.

Constantine was stunned for a moment before he was suddenly awash with relief. Feeling greatly refreshed, Constantine hurried towards the direction of the sound he heart.

Heart in throat, Constantine rushed forward towards the sound he heard, and in a moment, he finally saw a vague figure right in front of him.

The figure was hidden in the fog and Constantine could only make out a blurry outline of the figure, but Constantine was happy enough just to discover another person in this desolate fog.

Before he even reached the figure, Constantine called out in joy, "Hey you there, who are you? Do you know where this place is? How did we get here and can you tell me how to get out of here?"

Constantine called out to the figure in the fog while running towards him. But strangely enough, no matter how fast Constantine ran or how loudly he called to the figure in the fog, he couldn't seem to reach him, nor did it look like the figure could hear him.

Constantine felt a terrible feeling suddenly creep into his heart for some reason and he started to panic all of a sudden.

Increasing the strength in his legs, Constantine ran with all his might to catch up with the figure in the fog. But try as he might, he could reach the figure and his voice had no way of getting through to him.

"Wait! Don't go!"

"Come back!"

Constantine called out constantly, but the figure did not respond. Instead, it seemed like the creature was getting further and further away from him.

Constantine stretched out his hand to try to reach out to the figure, but his hand seemed to disappear into the fog and could reach the figure.

Constantine felt pained in his heart and overwhelming sadness overcame his consciousness. This scene was very familiar to him, almost like he had experienced it once before.

The more Constantine tried to reach the figure in the fog, the more desperate he became, and his mind was overcome with fear. It was as if something inside him was telling that if he didn't reach the figure in the fog, he would lose something very important to him.

Constantine did not know where this feeling came from, nor did he try to figure it out or fight it. It was only later, while all this was happening, that something clicked inside him and he remembered why all of this seemed so familiar to him.

Yes... it was just like that night when he couldn't reach out to him in time and lost him!

As Constantine stretched his hands to the figure in the fog, it suddenly seemed to overlap with the figure of another person that had been in his mind very much recently.

Almost subconsciously, Constantine called out a name.

"Baron... stop!!!"

As soon as this name came out of Constantine's mouth, the figure in the fog ahead of him seemed to react as if it had heard him.

That's right!

Upon seeing the reaction of the figure in the fog, Constantine was suddenly enlightened, and he completely remembered why all of this had felt familiar to him all along.

It was because this was exactly how it had been the night Constantine and his friend baron had been struck by lightning.

That night, Constantine had been chasing after the figure of his friend on a stormy night, but he had not been able to reach out to him. Even though he had managed to reach him in the end, they both had a massive quarrel that almost ended with the dissolution of their friendship.

After that, they were both struck by lightning with Constantine being in a coma for one year, only to wake up to find his friend had gone missing.

The reason why Constantine felt sad while trying to reach out to the figure in the fog was that till now, he felt that he had failed his friend and he blamed himself for not being able to save him in time.

If only Constantine was fast enough, if only he had gotten to his friend in time and convinced him to go back home together, then maybe they wouldn't have been struck by lightning and baron would still be around now. They would have continued being friends and would still be together right now.

Constantine blamed himself for not being able to save his friend, who had been going through a lot and was in despair over the kidnapping that had changed his life.

As for the figure in the fog, when it heard Constantine call out Baron's name, it stopped and turned around as if he recognized the name.

Constantine was glad, and he thought he could finally reach out to his friend. But in the next moment, the figure turned around once again and started moving deeper into the fog.

"No! Come back!"

Constantine rushed forward once more to stop the figure, but once more he could still not catch up to it.

"Baron, stop! Don't go. Where are you going? Where are you now? How do if I find you?"

Constantine called out the name of his friend repeatedly, but no matter how he called, the figure in the fog did not respond anymore. It continued to go deeper into the fog until its figure started to vanish slowly.

This time, Constantine could do nothing but watch as the figure he suspected to be his missing friend baron slowly disappeared into the heavy fog until it finally vanished completely.

Greatly distressed, Constantine roared painfully in a loud voice as he said to the figure in the fog.

"Come back baron, don't go!"

"I know you can hear me... come back! If you're not going to come back, then I will find you!"

"I will definitely find you myself and bring you back, no matter what it takes!"

"You hear me... no matter what it takes or where you are currently, I will definitely find you and I will definitely bring you back to wait for me!"

"Wait for me, Baron!"

Those were Constantine's last words to the figure as it completely vanished into the fog and it could not be seen anymore.

In the next moment, Constantine felt his vision blur and, before he knew it, he fell unconscious.
