When Constantine woke up, he found himself in a strange place...
Constantine felt a serious headache as soon as he opened his eyes and he squinted in pain as he tried to make out his surroundings groggily.
Gradually Constantine's eyes cleared up and he could finally get a clear look at his surroundings. When Constantine got a look at his surroundings, he suddenly sprang to his feet in shock and surprise.
Swoosh!
A sharp wind blew against Constantine, hitting his face sharply, causing it to sting in pain. A storm of dust and sand was raised by the wind and it rushed at Constantine, burying him in red earth. In the next 2 seconds, everything vanished as if they had never appeared in the first place.
Cough, cough!
Constantine burst into a coughing fit, spitting out the sand that had gotten into his mouth that he had failed to close in time due to his surprise.
"Cough! Damn it, what the hell is this... I've got sand in my mouth, eyes, nose, ears, and everywhere else. Just what is happening?"
"Where the hell am I!"
Constantine hurriedly opened his eyes after removing the sand that clung to his face and he looked around himself once more. In the end, he was still greeted by a shocking scene.
Everywhere around him, the only thing Constantine could see was sand, red sand on a barren desert. It didn't matter in which direction Constantine looked; it was still the same.
Sand filled Constantine's vision when he looked into the distance and above him, the sky was red and dusky. The wind here blew fast and furiously and it carried small particles of sand with it which hit Constantine's body, causing him to feel a stinging pain on his skin.
It didn't take a genius to know that Constantine was in a completely different place.
"Well, it looks like Dorothy is not in Kansas anymore!" Constantine commented.
Right now, Constantine was numb to all the strange things that happened around him. Even since he woke up from his coma and met Ruger learning that he now shared a soul and body with an immortal existence from another realm, nothing seemed to shake Constantine anymore.
While Constantine was looking around, he tried to make sense of what was happening and figure out where he was and how he got here.
"Where is this?" Constantine asked himself.
"It doesn't look like any desert I know of on earth. No desert has such fine red sand as far as I know. Besides, the sky here is red and there is no place on earth that has red skies."
"Does this mean I am not on earth anymore, or could this be a change that arose over the year as a result of the rift?"
Constantine continued to study his surroundings, and he came to a few conclusions regarding where he was.
According to Constantine's guess, he was either not on earth anymore or he was in a place that went through a lot of changes after the space rift had appeared last year.
"Whether I am still on earth or not, the question is, how did I get here in the first place?"
This was the thing that puzzled Constantine the most. He was clearly still in his room when he went to sleep, but now upon waking up; he found himself in a strange desert that might or might not be on earth.
Constantine also remembered that strange dream he had before waking up where he was surrounded by fog and he was chasing a figure in the fog who he suspected was his friend Baron.
Constantine had still yet to figure out what that dream was all about, how he was faced with another puzzling conundrum.
"Come to think of it, I don't seem to remember when I went to bed and fell asleep," Constantine thought.
"I clearly remember having trouble falling asleep after talking to that douchebag. after that I stayed up to think and walked to the balcony. The next thing I know, I'm dreaming about being lost in fog and now I'm waking up in this strange place."
"Is there something wrong with me?"
Constantine was beginning to feel worried. Not because of him appearing in a foreign and unknown place, but because he didn't know how it happened in the first place.
The first thing that Constantine thought was that something had to be wrong with him. After all, all this only started when he woke up and inherited powers that were not his own.
Because of Ruger, Constantine's life was becoming very unclear and he couldn't see what the future held for him anymore. There was no way for him to predict what would happen to him or what kind of weird and bizarre things would be thrown into his life.
Just like now, it is very likely that the cause of all this was due to the changes he was currently facing in his body.
Constantine didn't know what to do about this and the one person that could probably help him seemed very unreliable... Constantine was not even willing to reach out to him for help in the first place.
Constantine was deep in thought when suddenly, he heard a very annoying voice sounding out in his head.
"Hehe brat, it seems you're in quite the pickle!"
"How about it? Do you want my help?"
Ruger's voice suddenly interrupted Constantine's thoughts, making him very annoyed. He didn't want to interact with the menace right now and wanted to figure things out on his own. But clearly, Ruger wasn't the type to care about another person's feelings, much less Constantine.
He simply came up and disrupted Constantine's thought process.
Miffed, Constantine replied to Ruger curtly, "No thanks, I'm good. I don't need your help. Can figure all of this myself!"
"Suit yourself, brat. Don't let it be like I didn't offer to help. Now that you've rejected me, I might not be so willing next time."
"Huh!" Constantine snorted.
"As I would ever need your help," he said stubbornly.
"Is that so?" Ruger asked.
"Well then, I guess you won't need my help to save you."
Constantine was confused when he heard that, as he didn't know what Ruger meant by that.
"What do you mean by that?" Constantine asked.
"Oh, nothing. You said you don't need my help, so it's not my problem anymore. But just for the sake of fairness, let me give you a heads up."
"You probably want to start running right now. If not, you will die."
Constantine was shocked when he heard that.
"Who the hell are you cursing to die, you bastard? You better tell me what the hell you mean by that or else..."
Constantine raged, but just as he was about to confront Ruger, he suddenly noticed something wrong.
Looking ahead of him, Constantine noticed that there was a sandstorm heading his way. This was not so surprising as they were in the desert and the wind was blowing very strongly here. The sandstorm didn't look very strong and it wouldn't pose much of a danger to Constantine.
But the problem was that Constantine could actually see a few giant shadows inside the sandstorm, heading his way.
He didn't know what those shadows were but a sudden feeling of danger overcame Constantine, causing him to shiver in fear.
Constantine stood fearfully in place, shivering in trepidation as he saw the approaching sandstorm that carried an unknown danger in it. A feeling of crisis overwhelmed Constantine's senses and he immediately went into a fight-or-flight mode.A lot of contradictory feelings went through Constantine as he considered whether to wait and see what was coming or abandon all other thoughts and flee, just as Ruger had advised.Constantine could agree that the main reason why he hadn't run away yet was that he didn't want to do as Ruger said after telling him he didn't need his help. If Constantine was to flee now, then what he had said to Ruger would have no meaning anymore, and it would be nothing more than a joke. This caused him to hesitate, and he couldn't make up his mind. It was at this point that Ruger's voice sounded once again in his head as he said to him."Humph, kids, always so stubborn and prideful for no reason. I wonder which is more important to
"Oi brat, are you having fun?" Ruger's voice came as he said sarcastically.Just as Constantine was at the end of his rope, Ruger's voice finally sounded in his head. Although Constantine usually found Ruger's voice to be very annoying, at this moment of his greatest despair, Ruger's voice could not be any sweeter in Constantine's ear.Completely ignoring Ruger's sarcastic words, Constantine frantically shouted at him."Old man, you're finally here. quick do something, I'm about to be run over!""You... who are you calling an old man? For your information, I am only 3000 years old. I am still in the prime of my youth." Ruger bragged.'3000 years was not old!!!' Constantine thought in his mind. He had an incredible urge to comment on that right now, but he quickly shook his head and removed that thought from his mind. Now was not the time to deal with that.In the end, Constantine responded, "Wow, you're so young. How powerful... you're simpl
As Constantine was hesitating whether or not to take the risk to let Ruger use the dormant powers in his body, he suddenly heard the rumbling behind him caused by the countless number of dooms charging towards him.At that moment, Constantine's expression changed and he no longer had the time to consider things anymore. For a moment, Constantine had forgotten where he was and that he was currently in danger... how could he have the luxury of time to start, considering if Ruger was scheming against him now?Even if it turns out that there was indeed a scheme afoot, Constantine had no choice but to bite the bullet and take Ruger up on his offer. That was the only way he could possibly escape here with his life intact. At this moment, Constantine forced out the strength to continue running while turning his head back to see how close the dooms were to him. The scene he greeted him when Constantine turned his head around almost caused his heart to stop.<
As soon as Constantine gave the go-ahead, Ruger acted quickly as he immediately exerted the remaining power of his soul that was had yet to completely fuse with Constantine, burrowed deep within Constantine's soul, and merged together.Ruger was very familiar with this process, as he had done it many times over the course of one year. While Constantine had been in a coma for the past year, Ruger had actually already woken up to learn of his failure in possessing the boy. At first, when he learned that he had failed, Ruger had not been too concerned about it. Knowing that a mortal's soul was ultimately weak, it wouldn't be able to bear the weight of his powerful soul. This was clear since Constantine had yet to wake up.It was because Ruger's soul was too powerful for Constantine to absorb everything at once that he had fallen asleep to slowly merge with Ruger's soul.Ruger felt that this was a chance for him to try to possess Constantine's soul again, so
At the moment when Constantine was the most desperate, just as his life was about to end and the memories of his past flashed before his eyes... a certain power awakened from inside his body and burst out with ferocious might blasting the doom closest to him to smithereens causing it to disintegrate to dust and mix with the same below Constantine's feet. This happened all of a sudden and Constantine was not expecting it at all. He stood in place, confused and dazed, as he tried to make sense of what had happened.Soon, Constantine did not have the time to consider anything at all because an intense feeling of pain washed over his body, spreading from the very depths of his soul to the surface of his body. This pain came so suddenly that Constantine was caught off guard and he blanked out for a second. For an instant, Constantine fainted due to the pain, but he was immediately woken up by the pain again.Pain filled Constantine's senses, and it was so unbe
The figure inside the lightning calamity zone was naturally Constantine, whose body was currently under Ruger's control. Due to the fact that Constantine's body was not yet strong enough to control the power of constellation lightning that he had inherited from Ruger, his senses were constantly being wracked by extreme pain and he was continuously lingering at the border between consciousness and unconsciousness. The one in control of Constantine's body was Ruger and under his control, he was able to make use of his original powers that now belonged to Constantine to fight against the dooms that wanted to devour him. Those bolts of lightning that constantly flashed in the sky were a result of Ruger clashing with the dooms using Constantine's body. With the power of constellation lightning lingering in his body, Constantine's body was going through an extreme process of tempering where it was constantly being destroyed and rebuilt under the protection of his powe
Constantine's body was shaking furiously, and a storm was going deep inside his body at the very depths of his soul.Inside his soul vessel, Constantine's will that had been suppressed by Ruger and the pain of his powers awakening was gradually coming to his senses and he was fighting to regain control of his body back from Ruger, who planned to possess him once again. Naturally, Ruger would not allow Constantine to revive his consciousness at this moment and with him, so he was desperately trying to keep Constantine at bay.The thing is that right now was the most terrible time for Ruger's attention to be split in dealing with Constantine's awakening consciousness.Currently, the terrifying doom in the distance had already launched an attack at Ruger. It lifted a palm and attempted to swat Ruger out of the sky.Although the doom was a far distance away, its attack seemed to transcend the limits of space. It was able to bypass the vast distance between it
Ruger cursed out loud in regret! He cursed Constantine...He cursed the day he decided to possess Constantine's body...Most especially, Ruger cursed his friend Vader for bringing him to this state! If it weren't for him who decided to rebel and fight him to the death, knowing fully well that neither of them would come out of that fight alive, none of this would have happened in the first place. If only Vader had just obediently continued living his life the way it had been designed for him, he, Ruger, would not have to be stuck inside another person's body, barely living an ignoble existence with a little bit his original powers left to him.Now look at the state he was currently in, after planning and scheming for almost a year to regain his powers, he was about to die... crushed to pieces by an inferior Lifeform that would not have entered his eyes when he was at his peak.As this thought passed quickly through Ruger's mind, he was sudden
