Twenty four hours have passed since the last time Arifin consumed a blood crystal. He immediately consumes another one to treat his injury. It leaves him with only two blood crystals left. There will only be less than two hours before the sunset, and he hasn't done his daily quests at all. But that kind of training regime isn’t an issue for him anymore. He just leaves the house and starts running slowly as a warm up.It shocks Mike a bit, to find Arifin has really been recovered just like what Tony said. Another five minutes or so, Mike sees Arifin coming back from the other direction after he has done one lap of running around the housing complex.“Hey, what about your injury?” he asks as Arifin passes him.“All healed,” replies Arifin shortly.“Damn!” Mike rubs his head as he keeps looking at Arifin from behind. “Does that mean he also has a high healing factor?”“Nope!” Tony suddenly appears from behind, and starts doing some stretching. “He is still a normal human in that aspect.”
Tony stops for a moment to hear Arifin’s last words. But then he just smiles with a silly expression, and waves his hand once before turning away.He heads to the front yard to find something that he can do. That’s when he finds Minda coming over to Arifin’s house. And he knows so sure, she is here to look for Arifin.“Um, hello!” Minda greets him by bowing his head slightly.“Hey, you don’t need to greet me this way anymore. I’m no longer the senior who is going to bully you. If you are looking for Arifin, he is in the backyard.”Minda replies to him with a smile, still nodding his head a bit as she walks past him. But then she suddenly stops and turns back, because she feels like she hears Tony saying something albeit not clearly.“Yes?” she asks.“What? Did I say something?” asks Tony with his ignorant face.“Ah, no! It’s nothing,” replies Minda. She looks down again as a way to hide her face, and immediately takes her leaves. She believes she heard Tony saying something just now.
Tony scrunches his face, looking so unhappy with what Arifin said to him. “Did you think I’m someone who likes having dirty thoughts?” He then averts his attention to Minda, and brings his face with so much suspicion, like a prosecutor trying to expose the guilt of a criminal. “Minda! Did you really read his mind just now?” “No, I didn’t do it!” “But you did hear things that I just thought,” Arifin refutes Minda is silent for a moment. But then she just shakes her head by scrunching her face like she is holding her cries. “Are you stupid? Thinking that I’m able to read others' minds? I’m not a freak!” “No, you must be in denial,” says Tony. “Minda, listen!” Arifin approaches her again. “I’m not blaming you if you are able to read my mind. I just want to make sure. Now try it again! Try to guess what number I’m thinking right now.” But Minda just shakes her head, no longer hears weird things like before. She just holds her head, and then starts crying. “This is not what I’m co
Arifin’s dad appears, intending to turn on the floodlights in the backyard. This housing complex is actually surrounded by a high concrete wall. Except for the east part which is directly adjacent to the forest behind Arifin's house. The sky is still quite bright with the red and orange clouds during the sun set. Arifin is almost forgetting that this much illuminate won’t be enough to ward off those Dilopho monsters away. “Have the other floodlights been turned on, Dad?” “Easy! They have taken your words like holy scripture. Have you showered yet? Don't bathe too late, you might get sick!” The dad gets back inside the house. And Arifin, he is now thinking about his option to take that side quest. He has completed his daily training regime. And the system is offering him a side quest hunting dedemit creatures to collect the blood and soul crystals. He planned to skip it for tonight. But after listening to Mike’s story about the Bunian Realm, he finds the urge to make sure whether
A scream of pain suddenly echoes breaking the silence of the night, shaking Tony’s attention from his reverie. He sees Arifin jumping around from a tree, trying to reach the evil spirits he is going to kill. The more evil spirits Arifin slays, the more chaotic the scream is, and the more Tony finds the reason to just leave that place.“I can’t stay here. They are monsters! It was a bad decision to follow them.”Mike, with his monstrous hands and sharp fingers, easily butchers the zombies’ neck. As if he knows how to handle these demons, he mostly aims their heads and necks.“It seems like he is really familiar with these creatures,” mumbles Arifin.Arifin is having a bit of leisure time after he clears those evil spirits. His attention is back to the notification that the system gives to him.The truth is, the system has given him a weird quest since morning, since the time Mike enters his room.[Side Quest!][A dangerous entity detected. Kill him before he becomes a hindrance]Reward
Arifin pulls back his shirt. His face looks so sour, showing he still doesn’t trust Mike. There’s no way he is going to talk about that system, while the system itself is asking him to kill Mike. Even that side quest notification is still waiting for his response until now.Out of nowhere, they suddenly hear a high-pitched shriek of some creature. A moment later, they find something just hit one of the floodlights on the tree. That one floodlight is broken, and one small Dilophopapio monster is found under the tree.“What is this creature? Monkey?”“It’s one of the monsters that was brought by the meteor,” replies Arifin. “They are aiming for our floodlights,” grumbles Arifin. That one small monster is still moving albeit badly injured. Right after it manages to get back to its feet, it suddenly rushes toward Arifin and Mike wildly.Mike is backing off, not wanting to dirty his suit.“Can you kill it yourself?”Arifin takes one step forward, delivers one down stroke, and kills that sm
One huge swing from the alpha gorilla comes. It’s not clear if it is trying to hug or to slam Mike’s face. But Mike immediately ducks down, and delivers a quick hook several times on the monster’s ribs.He follows it with some combos like a genuine boxer. The only difference is that he isn’t clenching his fists. He hits the monster by trusting his sharp and powerful fingers.Pieces of flesh and blood are flying around in the air. That monster groans so wild each time it gets hit. It tries to retaliate, waving his huge arms around, but the fight is really so one-sided.Meanwhile, Arifin has already reached his home. Tony comes to him looking so worried, but Arifin ignores him.“Have you seen Prof. Irwan?”“Oh, he is with your dad next door,” replies Tony.Arifin rushes out impatiently. He finds a few of Mike’s men are still in his house at the terrace. He tells them that Mike might be in danger in the woods. But none of them shows any concern.“Mike is in danger in the woods?” mumbles
That old man Acil shakes his head with some silly expression. He expresses how hard it is to imagine that Mike would find a situation that forced him to turn into his full form. That’s when Mike tells Arifin about the kind of monster he just encountered, explaining about the probability who might be the one who aimed their spotlight.“Its body looks like a big gorilla, about 4 or maybe 5 meters high. But the head is like the head of a T. Rex, with two fins and tentacles. Can you imagine it?”Acil just scrunches his face, thinking that Mike is only making a joke by exaggerating his description about the monster he was fighting.“That’s just like the kind of monster we found last week. But, are you sure about the height?” that old man doubts.“That’s the Alpha Dilophopapio,” Arifin affirms. “It’s like each pack has their own boss. I fought the same monster yesterday at the university.”On the way back home, Mike deliberately takes them to the place where he fought. He himself is only tr
