Chapter 50: An Agreement.

"Royce, I understand how you feel. I know you are stressed out. Feel free to talk to me," the nurse said softly as she closed the cell door slightly. She secretly took out a syringe from her pocket and moved closer to him.

Royce eyed her suspiciously. "Why are you coming close?"

The nurse continued to approach him, keeping her voice calm and soothing. "Don't worry, you'll be fine," she said, her eyes fixed on him.

Before Royce could react, she quickly jabbed the syringe into his arm. He cried out in pain, clutching his arm, but within seconds, he felt his body go weak. His vision blurred, and he struggled to stay conscious.

"What's happening?" he mumbled weakly, his knees buckling.

The nurse stepped back, watching as Royce crumpled to the floor. "Just relax," she said quietly, though he was already too far gone to hear her. His eyes closed, and he slipped into unconsciousness.
